your still hungry. Ive been doing this healhty eating for about a year now. and over that whole year i had binging problems. I Just RECENTLY have gotten over binging and dont do it anymore . Well Not like 239483209 calorie binging. you know what i mean? &nbs p; But now my problem is not eating all my calories at once... or not at once but pretty much at once. &nbs p; Like i had breakfast . which was fine. &nbs p; then i was hungry and just kept going to get something to snack on and its only like 10:30 and ive already had 2100 calories . which i eat like 2500 or so . &n bsp;   ; idk i need to learn to eat smaller meals through out the day........... any tips ? =/
i've kind of had this problem before. i tried drinking water with and in between my meals, because apparently most people have trouble telling if they're really hungry or just thirsty. it really worked and i'm never unsatisfied anymore. so maybe you're just not drinking enough water.
Yeah that could be it. Ill have to try that . thanks =]
idk this was kinda of a dumb post because . idk if there really are "tips" per say that someone can give me. its just like a mental thing that i have to get used to that iam not always going to feel FULL .
blah . but thanks again .ill definately try that =]
You could try doing some sort of excersize after meals, or drinking a lot of water to fill you up. That was always my problem every time I had a failed attempt at dieting, I just couldn't stop snacking, I finnaly threw away all the foods I was snacking on, and bought healthier substitues, which luckily I don't get "cravings" for lol. Now it seems I have to make myself eat now.
two things that could help:
1) more water -- if you're not drinking water right now, go fill up a glass.
2) eat half of your meal and PUT IT DOWN. go out of the room and do something for ten minutes, and then come back and finish it. you should give your body some time to realize it's eaten something.
most people say drink water/green tea (or coffee, as it's a hunger suppressant), or brush your teeth, or chew gum (and i agree with them!)
also try to get your mind off of eating. go do some exercise, housework, go shopping, meet up with a friend, etc etc.
it's so easy to eat more than you should. things like bags of peanuts can be dangerous because it's so easy to get through the whole bag. so, i recommend getting some plastic containers and portioning your sizes out in those, so you're not tempted to eat more.
one other good trick is to start having your meals on smaller plates as it makes it look like a bigger portion and trick you into thinking you ate a large meal. if you eat with smaller cutlery it slows down the eating process and gives you time to savour the meal so you'll be less hungry.
Also, the carbs you eat should be whole grains. Opt for whole wheat bread instead of white, brown rice instead of white, oatmeal over processed cereals, whole wheat tortillas over white, etc.
For breakfast, include either a whole grain or a source of protein. A combination of both is best. An example would be whole wheat toast with peanut butter, a whole wheat bagel with eggs and lean meat (breakfast sandwich!), oatmeal with a side of eggs, etc.
I have almost no control of the amount of food I eat... if it is there I will eat it. So I have started making a plate with small... really small portions then put the leftover food or anything consumable away before I sit down to eat... this way I avoid refilling my plate or grazing which is what commonly puts me over in calories...
i tend to "eat all day" when I eat much of a breakfast. If I eat a yogurt light (70 cal) about 7:00 a.m. it seems to keep me full feeling till about 11:00 then I have a specila k snack bar (90 cals) then when I go to lunch about 1:00, I will have a lean cuisine or smart ones. IF I get hungry in the afternoon, I drink water so I know I can have more food in the evening. EVENING is where my trouble comes, but I think I am getting handle on it after six months. At least I try to have low cal snackies so I don't over do. I think I get bored in the evenings and can't stop...I am certainly NOT hungry!
Having several small snacks or "meals" throughout the day might help you, but I think everyone has to try to find their own way to control the hungries! Good luck!!
Today has been brutal for me. More so than most. I already reached my limit, but for some reason I'm still VERY hungry. I could eat a horse!
edit: Maybe it has something to do with my activity level from yesterday. I played basketball for an hour and I jogged 2 miles. That's much more activity than normal for me. Usually I only do the jogging. I'm still very sore in fact.
eat six small meals a day!!! Each meal should have protein included. The problem you are having is tthe same one that's been holding me back since december. I started eating 6 meals a day and havent had a prooblem since.
I used to eat until I was full. Come to find out because my blood sugar was low I was in a state of MASSIVE hunger. The kind of hunger that doesn't go away after packing away a steak, salad, texas toast, and baked potatoe...so you just keep going.
I figured out my binge eating was related to a drop in blood sugar and it takes awhile after eating for it to come back up again. I weigh all of my food and I eat only that. I wait 20 minutes and then see if I am still hungry. 9 times out of 10 I am not hungry. If I am hungry after eating my calorie allowance I have a cup of flavored green tea. I also have a few snacks...apples, and peanut butter is a good snack for smashing mid day hunger. Lots of protein and fiber all rolled together.
Some fad diets recommend taking a shot of orange juice about 15 minutes before eating to raise blood sugar levels. I haven't ever tried that but te concept makes since.
HTH
These are all fantastic suggestions!
Make sure you are getting enough sleep! A bad night can throw your hormones out of whack and make you hungrier. Plus, if you are like me, your willpower goes down when you are tired.
I haven't slept well the last couple of nights and I'm having an AWFUL day. I want to eat everything -- especially sweets! So I'm just going to call it a maintainence day and exercise this afternoon. Sucks, but it isn't the end of the world. Every once in a while it's actually better to give into temptation.
