does lip gloss contains any calories?  it must with the taste and all the kinds of oil they use, right?

My little brother one time found my stash of Avon Bubble Gum lip gloss, and we found him sitting under the kitchen table hunched over like a wild animal eating all of it. That was hilarious. But that stuff did taste SO good!

Just a thought, a few weeks ago I saw they recalled a bunch of lipstick because it contained lead, and of course, most lipstick/gloss gets absorbed by the body or consumed while eating, so they had to recall it.

My guess is that they aren't using a ton of sugar, or else it would be sticky, but I doubt they are using Splenda, either.

Let's say it contains as many calories as it takes to apply it, and call it even!

Want to hear something really gross.....

My cat will sometimes get so hungry and eat her food so fast she'll puke it up and before I can clean it up the other cat already has. EEEWWWWW.

thats pretty gross but I think mines worse, unfortunately for us  my fathers chihuahua has taken to sleeping in the cats litter box whether it has been used or not at the time doesn't seem to matter, phuaaaw shes smelly atm

At least she's just sleeping in it and not surfing for "cat-box crunchies" like my roommate's dog!

Im confused - I remember discovering lip smackers smelled delish but tasted like vaseline/ wax (wonder why).  Have they started making them out of jam instead?

haha.. reading this was some nice entertainment, thanks guys!

can cats really have eating disorders???

no. do you really think they care how they look?

Nomo, does licking your lips really give you chapped lips???
Its not the licking of lips but the evaporation from your lips that I understand is the problem.  The lip balm creates a barrier to prevent moisure from evaporating.  Ive also heard that chap stick is meant to keep lips from getting chapped and I always thought it funny people who use it with lips that were fine.

lol oh wow...

well to answer the original question I am sure that lip gloss does have calories, depending on the type and how much of it you use... it seems to be pretty slimy and/or waxy, so depending on the type of ingredients used it should have a couple calories, but not enough to do anything, even if you were to eat the whole thing; since on average the entire product is like what, 5 grams? worst case senario is that it would be like 45cal if it was entirely oil/fat (5g x 9 = 45cal)

but i am thinking WAY too far into this... don't eat your lip gloss, or any other product that is not intended to be food and you'll be fine!

I just want to say that this is my favorite thread ever and I hope it keeps going forever and ever.  It is 100% pure entertainment.
Well after this thread I bought some watermelon flavored chapstick today. I couldn't help myself.

Mmmm Yummy!!!
Did you log it?

lol yeah you better log that ****, you're probably waaaay over your allowance now!

better get your butt on the threadmill

ha

Surprised I'm gonna stop logging coffee now.
first, i do not eat lipgloss, but sometimes i happen to lick my lips and taste a bit, so don't assume i go through it like food.

Somebody PMd me the other day and asked me the calories in Cat Chow.

(I don't want to know why they needed to know!)

Laughing

=^..^= MOLLY

Maybe their kitty is on a diet... we hope.  My kitty got sick and lost a lot of weight and my mom took her (cause I am a lousy cat mommy) and we had to buy this cat food with like 500 calories a can....LOL

Now she is better and all she wants is canned food.

Thanks to you guys who got my humor.

Sorry to the rest of you that seriously don't get sarcasm and are so concerned with a .0045 calorie serving of lip gloss.

LOL @ 120bydecember.

Think how many calories we burned laughing.

Sorry if the OP is from someone with a serious problem but maybe seeing others laugh at it they will realize how silly and sad it is to be this obsessed.

But here is what I found.... most of the kiddie flavored ones like soda flavored or cinnabon are 0 calories, artifical sweetener in a wax base.  Chances are if there were a few calories you would burn them in just the effort to put it on.

Dieting is often a stressful and upsetting thing, we worry and we literally sweat over it.  Being able to laugh about it sometimes can keep you sane and that might just help you keep on track, so dont be too hard on people who laugh about this.

Hey, does any body know how many calories there are in spiders??

I hear on average we subconciously eat about 8 per year while we are sleeping and don't even realize it!!

uh oh... are spiders fattening??

Tongue out

carmen - no worries, they're a lean meat and excellent source of protein.

Anyone have any thoughts on the nutritional information of a candle....
It's probably pretty similair to the nutritional information in crayons. I ate plenty of those as a kid, apparently. They should have close to 0 calories. Just undigestable.. stuff.
darn it - if candles have 0 calories then I was under my calories for yesterday : (
