Liquid diet???
Ok, so I would'nt say I'm actually ON a liquid diet, but what I have done is : My actually diet is not terrible, meaning I don't eat a lot of "bad" foods, I just eat a lot. So besides eating healthier, what I've been doing is having a cup of milk, a cup of juice, and 2 cups of water with almost every meal. This allows me to have better portion control as my stomach still feels full from the liquids. A dietician was kind of on the fence about it, any opinions? I think it's worked great so far...
I think if you stack up your undereating and meal-skipping with this situation where you're filling yourself up artificially on liquids then you've got a problem. Your dietician would only be 'on the fence' I suspect if they're unaware of how little you're eating the rest of the time. Anyone can starve themselves thinner but that doesn't make for a healthy outcome.....
for what it's worth, i'm in total agreement with gi-jane. sound advice.
you sound like a walking contradiction. you say you're not starving yourself but now you're saying you intentionally fill up on liquids to avoid food. which is it? you made the not eating sound accidental but clearly it's intentional. please seek professional help, i think you're in over your head.
Promotion of starvation diets or habits that exhibit signs of an eating disorder ("pro-ana", "pro-mia", etc.) is prohibited.
Do you have a plan to wean yourself away from this "liquid diet" or do you continue to keep this up forever?
I'm no doctor, but I've heard the stomach can get stretched and also shrink. I don't know if that it true or not. I've never cared enough to find out. If you believe this and are using the fluids to help you feel full and you are going to gradually decrease fluids while your stomach gets smaller (reasonable HEALTHY size), then maybe it might help? That would be risky though because you'd have to be careful not to be to get so full that you can't eat the proper amount of calories.
All in all, I'd say it's probably a bad idea. Just my opinion though.
Is my sodium intake too low?
You have nothing to worry about because sodium deficiency is extremely rare. In fact, there is not even an recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA... Read more
