OK, please tell me if anyone esle as this problem BUT i KNOW I dont consume enough liquids to stay hydrated BUT in the morning all I drink is coffee (about 3-4 cups) then I wont drink anything til dinner and its water - I try to drink water during the day but cant seem to stomach it or anything else - I dont drink soda, juice, or anything other than water and coffee.
I maybe only drink the 3-4 cups of coffee and 2 glasses a water a night - What can I do? Anyone else like this?
I can't stand the taste of our water at work, so my solution is to add a little bit of lime juice to cover the flavor. I try to always keep a full glass on my desk, because otherwise I won't make the effort to drink.
Try and cut your coffee down to one glass a day. The caffeine is no good for you.
Well I have TRIED and TRIED with the coffee but that is my vice - I tried the half cafe coffee and NO THANKS! I just cant do it - I figure everything else in my diet is good so why not!
I dont mind the taste of water but I just cant seem to driunk ANYTHING during the day - ugh
It has electrolytes and is easier to stomach.
Keeping it not ice cold can help too if you get that stomach queaze reaction.
Theres soup, fruits, and veggies. They contain high water content.
Have em.
:)
Eat more fruits like apples with a lot of water in them!
And I used to hate water too... but now I love to drink it!!! I'm always thirsty!
i find that the biggest thing is just to keep a bottle or glass next to me all the time. if it's there, i will drink it.
hey there,
a great substitute for coffee/tea in the morning is vitaminwater energy (yellow). it has 42mg of natural caffeine and 25mg of guarana (another form of natural caffeine) in a 20 oz bottle. thats allllmost equivalent to a cup of coffee. you probably want to drink it cold, but its not terrible warm. its not as sweet as fruit juice, not as bland as plain water, and has no weird aftertaste like other flavored waters. (and its definitely not in the redbull-jittery-type drink category. yuck!)
plus its got other good stuff in it and only natural sugar! and it is a really yummy tropical flavor. one downside- is it has 125 calories for a 20 oz serving, but if you use cream & sugar in your coffee, its a pretty even trade. (not to mention you are getting about 12 oz more liquid than in your cup of coffee!)
im a total energy beverage skeptic, but im hooked on this stuff! hope that helps you out. good luck! ![]()

I eat lotsa veg and fruit but still feel dehydrated - ugh
I have also tried the Life Water and Vitamin Water but still - Its not that i dont LIKE the taste - I just cant seem to bring myself to drink it but once the sun goes down I can drink it no problem - So far today Ive had 1 bottled water - but last night I had 4 - I dont get it - Its hopeless ha
I have the same problem (minus the coffee--luckily that's one vice I don't have :) ). If I don't pay attention, I can easily go a whole day without drinking. However, lately I have been trying to force myself to drink by placing water bottles on my desk during work--and, surprisingly, the more I started drinking, the thirstier I got. It is unfortunately very important to drink water, not only for weightloss but for general health as well. For weight loss, it's pretty much indispensable, for multiple reasons. In addition to the ones people already mentioned, if you don't drink enough, your kidneys might be overtaxed, which results in your liver having to "take over" (OK, not quite this literally, but with approximately the same results) its functions. Since one of your liver's main functions is dealing with excess fat, if it is doing "double duty" b/c of your kidneys not being hydrated enough, your fat burning will slow down... OK, this was not quite a scientific explanation, but it's almost midnight, am writing a stupid memo, and am tired :)
But I wouldn'd mind starting a "let's ensure we drink enough water" support group--I know I need one.
I have a lot of trouble getting enough liquid during the day because I'm too busy, so I may have some useful suggestions for you.
Load up on water-rich foods. Fruit is great - melons, apples, applesauce, pears, grapes, oranges, and suchlike have lots of water and can help keep you hydrated. A lot of veggies are good too: lettuce, cucumbers, baby carrots.
If all else fails, make sure you're getting your total daily recommended allowance of fat. Why? Of all the energy-yielding food types, metabolism of fat yields the highest amount of metabolic water. (I'm taking comparative nutrition! Handy stuff, sometimes.)
while waiting for my coffee to brew, i drink 1 glass of water. after coffee, another glass.
at lunch i usually have 1-2 glasses.
before/during/after going to the gym. i refill my water bottle 2-3 times.
1 glass after dinner to help me feel super full. (this is a new addition for me)
right before bed i drink 1-2 glasses of water
none of this includes random water through the day. i don't spend extraordinary amounts of time in the bathroom either ~ you may at first, once you start a 'water regime' lol. i suggest treating water like a workout or any other habit, just do it! everytime you put a dish in the sink, for example, grab a glass of water.
kudos to you for not drinking pop/soda! it is the cause of all the death and violence in the world, i am sure of it!!
