listen to your body....
The best piece of advice I can pass on.
I enjoy a "treat" meal each Saturday..usually some Indian takeaway if I'm not going out...I eat it whilst watching a movie and always finish it...why ? simply habit. Tonight I ate slower, enjoyed the meal and stopped when I felt full, I haven't even eaten half of the meal.
I may go back to it later on...if I get hungry but won't stuff myself for the sake of it. I am surprised to find that whilst I don't consider myself a comfort eater I obviously eat through habit and have previously finished meals that I just don't need. So ..listen to your body , when you are hungry eat, stop when you get full, you can save the calories for later or another day.
Good advice. I had my snack (watermelon) about an hour ago and realized I was still hungry so grabbed some dry fruit just now b/c dinner is not for another hour. Almost beat myself up for it but thought "I'm hungry so I'm going to eat!"I could have went for the cookies so at least it was healthy! ![]()
all thumbs up...I have been telling this to people too.
eat slowly, chew your food 5 to 10 times per mouth full..savour every bite and listen...because you slowed down the brain gets the word..."I full"..from the stomach.
But the key here is you must stop eating. It is much easier to do because you are full.
Another trick when eating out...order a take out container when you get your meal...out in that container what you know is over your limit. Then sit back and enjoy your meal eating slowly. This came from someone on CC..there are some smart people here!
