Too little fat grams?
So, ive been eating pretty well lately, but the amount of fat grams that i get is around 5-10. is this too little fat grams?
Almost certainly that's far too low..... Fats and oils should make up 25-30% of the calories in a well-balanced diet. So if you were getting the 2000 calories required by the typical adult female, 500-600 of them would be coming from fat and that equates to 55 - 67g
An easy way to calculate the grams of fat is to divide your daily calories by 36 and by 30; the two values you get are the lower and upper boundaries. (ex. for 1800 cals/day: 1800/36 = 50; 1800/30 = 60; therefore you should aim to land anywhere between 50 and 60 grams of fat per day)
well, i get around 1200 calories in (im trying to at least, sometimes i get less), and im 16, but thanks for the advice, ill try to up my calories and see where that gets me.
