Living Life to the fullest
Life is all about living. Enjoying. Relishing in the small things. If we get too hung up on our weight or how we look, we can forget to live. We need to remember that God helps us overcome not just physically but also spiritually and emotionally. He is a victorious God and He wants us to triumph in this life, as well. Regardless of where you are in your journey toward good health, take some time to enjoy life today. Work in your garden, telephone a friend, write a letter, or take a walk. Visit with the Lord and thank Him for sharing His goodness with you.
I know I need to do more of this, it is like I am waiting for my weight to come off before I start living. It is hard though to walk down the street and see how the world sees me with their snickers and comments but then I remind myself of what I am doing and who I am in Christ. Also I realize we are not of this world but we must live in it. We are to be examples to the world. So I need to relax and enjoy life instead of always being on guard. Thank you for your post. I noticed a ground hog the other day on a walk that is unheard of for me so that is enjoying the small things in life and I have noticed some flowers popping up. So there is hope for me yet.![]()
Hi Bill,
It is amazing when we open our eyes, even just a bit, to see the small "details" He has created for us to enjoy. There are many times when we are so busy focusing on ourselves that we often miss these wonderful little details.
For me, the reminder I have chosen to stop, look and listen is sunset. I try to stop each day and just take a few minutes to enjoy it. It reminds me that no matter what happens today, that beautiful, life-giving sun(son) will rise again tomorrow and no matter what life continues (here or in heaven) and nothing is too large or too small for Him to handle. Each day, challenge yourself to seek out even just one of these "little details", stop and Thank Him for it. You can't help but to see/feel His Love and Grace! Soon, it becomes a habit. To me, this is the meaning of "Seeking Joy"
thank you for the advice and encouragement, my wife points out the sunset to me on occasion and although I know it is magnificient on some days, other days I take it for granted. I know I should not because every day is a gift from God.
