Hey all you out there! So I'm looking for a small group of people with similar stats to chat with, share stats and motivate eachother! I am thinking that max 10 people would be good..just so we can get to know eachother and our progresses. However, I have no idea how to end a group once its full...so we'll just have to go with the flow and hope it doesn't get too crazy in here! So I just started this calorie counter thing a couple of weeks ago and am still trying to figure out what works for me. I'm going to try to aim for 1500 calories a day and working out 4-5 times a week (cardio and weights). Hopefully by August or Sept. I will be around 125/130. I wish i had started this sooner so i could be wearing my old bikinis all summer..but looking good for whenever university starts up again and all my friends reunite would be good too!

Hi! I could have written your post! ... except that I'm a little older :(  I'm only 24 though so not super old right? Anyway, I'm also 5'4'' and 145 and am trying to maintain a 1500 cal diet so I can get to around 120.  I'd love to work together to accomplish this!  ...also... I'm kind of new to this website... is there a way to mark forums or officially join them? I'm kind of confused...

you guys sound awesome! haha and i am pretty new to this website (also slightly computer handicapped) so I'm not too sure. I know you can 'Tag' forums to make them easier to find, but I dont know about joining. I think you just post on the wall and that means you've joined? Hopefully someone more experianced will join and tell us. So mabye once more people join, we can swap excersise routines/measurements etc

Hi

I just started today and I am also 5'4 at 144 pounds. Although think I'm the oldest of you all, 25 YIKES!!

Gotta lose and sustain, hope we can encourage each other thru this journey of weight loss.

Ok so I'd told myself for a week that today was the day (June 1st!) that I'd start eating healthier and really trying to lose the weight.  Well, I was dumb and decided that meant that last week, when I was on vacation, I could eat like crazy!  I just gritted my teeth and actually weighed myself and it was 146! Ugh.  I'm sure some of that is bloat that will go away once I start eating more normally, but still, geez!  Anyway, I just logged on and entered in my first foods so I thought I'd write something here as well.

Two of my major goals for this summer are to 1) record what I eat and 2) weigh myself everyday.  I know everyday is way too much for some people, but I know from experience (like this vacation haha) that if I'm not accountable everyday, I'll just skip the days/weeks when I know I've eaten unhealthily.  Don't worry, I know weight fluctuates day by day due to hydration, amount of carbs eaten (stored w/ water in body), etc.  and I don't plan on freaking out about that.

Anyway, how's everyone else's day going??

urbandecaay- haha yeah i got the idea to start this group from yours, but i wanted a group with people who had more similar stats than the other one..like us! cindy44- great goals! yeah my goal is to record everything i eat...even on bad days, because seeing the high number in calories will definitely encourage me to stick to my healthy diet. I also plan on fitting into my old size 4/6 skirts sometime this summer..or at least before winter hits! Hopefully, an added luxury would be to wear my old bikinis and actually look good in them again! right now, i dont feel comfortable in any bathing suit, which sucks because summer is just starting and im going to my cottage in like a month and a half. So do we want to share our weights on a weekly basis? I was thinking Thursday would be a good day, because its kind of in the middle of the week, and I know that some weekends I go out drinking with friends, or have an extra cookie, so my weight would probably be a little higher early on in the week. This way, it gives us a chance to drink lots of water and get back into our routine before the weigh in day. sounds alright to everyone?

Sounds good to me!

Wow!  I am right there with all of you! I'm 5'4.5 and 145-146 right now and am 24 years old.   think my end goal will be 130, but I'll see how I feel along the way.  I started at 158 in February so I need the extra motivation now!

Also trying to do 1500 calories a day.  For exercise, I walk 3-5 miles a day and do some strength training.  I'll be going back to college in the fall and I *hope* I'll take advantage of the free gym then!

hi! i would like to join to if you dont mind!

i am 19 years old 5'6" and currently 151.  i try to eat 1200 to 1300/ day and exercise is something I need to work on.  I have been slacking off and not working out much lately. i think a group would be a good thing for me to make me feel a little more accountable

urbandecaay - to get to 145 I having been tracking everything I eat at least 5 days a week and sticking to 1500 calorries, and trying to make sure the 1-2 cheat days a week do not go above 2000.  I haven't been perfect but just make sure to keep going.  I've been stuck at 145-147 for the past 3 weeks so I think I need to be a bit more careful from this point on.  Now I am trying to Average 1500 calories day, so 1400 some, 1600 others, and hopefully that will get me to start losing again.

Strength training is just a vague term for lifting weights, situps, squats, etc...  I haven't made a super organized effort by I try to do something 2-3 days a week for about 20-30 minutes.

How about you?  What has worked for you?

So I've average 1450 calories the last 3 days, how is this week going for the rest of you?

I'm doing a happy hour tomorrow and a pizza thing on Friday so hopefully I can keep things reasonable!

my average is right around yours! and yes, this weekend may go slightly downhill because it's my friends b-day and so all the girls are coming into town for the weekend, and we havent seen eachother in a while. but as long as i dont drink/eat toooooo much, it shouldnt have too big of an impact.

Tomorrow is the big weigh-in day! Hopefully we are all pleased with what we see! if not..theres always next week haha

hey my name is mandy Im 19 145 pounds almost 5'3 Sealed lol. i want to be 125 again like the beg of my senior year in hs!!!

alright, so I weighed myself first thing this morning before i ate or showered or anything..and i got 141.8! I have been using CC for around 3 weeks now, and have lost about 2-3 pounds, so I am happy with this progress! slow, but healthy changes. and Hey Mandy! welcome to the group!

Sounds like everyone is doing well and making progress!  I missed posting the weigh-in yesterday but I was 143 (down from 146 - lotta vacation bloat in there so 3lbs makes sense).  I've been averaging around 1500 cals/day, meeting my protein g goals, and, most importantly to me at the moment, I've been diligently recording EVERYTHING I eat and have weighed myself every day.

Now comes the weekend... The weekend is TOTALLY my problem time.  As long as I'm in a schedule and doing things at the same time and in the same places (work, home, or my boyfriend's place usually), I eat well.  It's when I get stuck at a party or a bar or a friend's place on the weekend that I get hungry and end up eating too much of food that is doing nothing good for me!

So I need all of your help!  This weekend I'm going to a dinner party / beer tasting party Saturday night that I'm worried about.  Anyone have any ideas of how to politely decline tasting beer at the beer tasting party? I feel like it's gonna be so awkard to bring beer over and then refuse to drink it...  I also want to think of something to tell myself during dinner so I don't make an on the spot excuse to eat seven helpings of chocolate pie or something!  Any ideas?
