Have you ever been to a lock and key party?

Hey everyone. I'm going to my first Lock and Key party tonight and I'm super excited. I was just wondering has anyone else ever been to one, and what were your experiences (good and bad)?

just google lock and key events if you want the details. (I would post the link but that might be considerred soliciting or something)

I goggled it, this is what I found...

HOW IT WORKS:Every female gets a lock and every male gets a key. You then have to find a lock that matches your key or vice versa. As you work around the lock and key party, you will meet many different people and trying one another's locks serves as a great ice breaker giving you the chance to meet a huge number of people. You never know, you may find the key to your heart(hahahahahaaa)

Sorry, no advice because I've never done this but it is a neat idea. Love the sexual innuendo of lock and key, hahaaa.

I used to work somewhere that considered hosting one, but it was too complicated/expensive so we didn't end up doing it.  It does seem like a neat idea, though, unless the guy who has your key is a real loser or something!

 That's what I first thought too!  Not to mention an interesting statement on societal views of courtship. IE:  The woman searching for love, her affections "locked up", the man's responsibility to "unlock" the woman's heart.

It sounds interesting if you don't stop to analyze or read things into it. 

Sounds like a key party with locks.

I'm not sure they are that different - one is for singles, the other is for couples who still enjoy some of the benefits of single-hood. But the end result is about the same.

This one is for singles.

Reminds me a little of that Ice Storm movie except those people were already attached. It's an interesting premise, but could be awkward if you and the person you match up key and lock with are not into each other!

 Yes, they are the same if your goal is to hook up with a married dude, f--- in a back room somewhere and never see each other again! 

I went to a club one night and that was the theme.

I didn't really enjoy it to be honest. I also didn't intend on going to a "lock and key" party, so my situation is a bit different.

I just don't like being approached by desperate guys looking to get laid, and that gave them all the perfect excuse.
