What should I log as activities?
Asked by luluchoo on Aug 06, 2009 in Weight Loss

I am not sure what to log for activities for the burn meter. I am listed as sedentary as I have a desk job, but I have been adding things like typing and grooming.  Do I need to?  Does the burn meter include sleeping?  Or just merely existing at a sedentary level. I am just confused as to what I should be logging in for activities and what should be left out. =)

Answer

Do not log your "activities of daily living" (including sleeping) because they are already covered under the calories you burn at a sedentary activity level which are shown by the Burn Meter.  Instead, add those activities that are above-and-beyond your usual, such as a 45-minute walk, 60-minutes of mowing the lawn, 2 hours of dancing, etc.
