How do you log hard boiled egg white, no yolk?
How do you log hard boiled egg white, no yolk? I couldn't find it unders eggs, and on the carton it just says the calories of the whole egg. I plan on boiling the eggs and just tossing the yolks. Anyone know how many calories, protein, and fat?
boiling doesn't add calories. just log egg whites.
though there's really no good reason not to eat the yolks.
My fat is already a little high today and the yolks have fat and added calories. (I usually eat the yolk just not today)
Thank you.
The yolk has lots of cholesterol and if you eat just the egg white, you are getting a protein to calorie ratio that is hard to match in other foods.
I simply log egg white, raw.

and the link between cholesterol in food and cholesterol in blood is thready, at best.
there are few foods that are simpler, cheaper, more convenient, and better for you than eggs. whole ones.
Ugh.
Some people like to add bulk to their food to induce fullness. Personally, for me, I feel more full if I have a plate FULL of food rather than small amounts of calorically dense food - though it may be healthy. It may be psychological, but no matter how I look at it, if I've had more bulk I will be more full. I enjoy whole eggs and they are very healthy, but sometimes if I need to "bulk" up my meal I'll add egg whites because they are ALSO good for you and very low in calories.
Eggs are a healthy part of a balanced diet but so are egg whites - there are plenty of reasons not to eat whole eggs all the time. This is one of them.
Have you ever diced up hard boiled eggs and sprinkled them with stevia & cinnamon = yummy! ha ha!
