How to log HIIT running
Hi folks,
Anyone got a suggestion for logging HIIT running?
I'm doing 25 mins, with 1 minute bursts, 5 minutes baseline, how do I log my speed on the running in activity log on here?
I've been putting it down as 7.5 mph, but it's just an overall guestimate really :-S
Thats a great question and i was thinking the same exact thing but having an average doesn't really provide you with an accurate calorie estimate since your HR is elevated way above the level that it is when doing steady state, and it doesn't go down that much during the lesser intensity bouts, so i don't know what to do.

Yeah, the heart rate elevation and corresponding calorie loss is what I'd love to work out. Maybe Melkor has some words of wisdom for us??? ![]()
Or perhaps I should invest in a heart rate/calorie burn meter watch thingy.
If you know about how fast you're going in your "all out" and "baseline" then you can just log however many minutes at each speed. I've done that before (also seen it recommended on threads). It might be closer but it still doesn't feel right (for me at least).

Not sure how accurate this would be, but I would log each seperately. Figure out how many minutes you did at each speed and log it as seperate. It is probably under-estimating a bit, but I would rather under-estimate burn than over-estimate.
