lol who also feels this way? am I alone?
when you end up with pants that are too big you should be happy you've lost that much weight right? well when i sit down because my pants are big, they ride up until they are tight on my inner thigh. because my jeans feel tight when im sitting i feel like i havent lost any weight! but then realise my jeans have risen up a good inch or two?! anyone else get this lol, I guess thats what I get for being cheap and not buying fitting jeans but Im a college student and cant afford new clothes D:? it semi sabotages my weight loss so i was just wondering if i was the only one with this problem? ive never heard of it before lol.
haha, I've never had that personally, but I hated having sloppy looking jeans after I lost weight (I, too, am cheap... heheh) However, I know what it's like have jeans that are too tight, and you get that muffin top, and it's uncomfortable to sit down etc. so I can put up with the sloppy look for a bit.
Depending on the type of jeans (this will work best if they have a slight stretch, and they are/or you want to make them into skinny jeans) sew up the inside leg seam, and take them in around the waist and ta-da! Well it worked for me... sometimes... xx
ahah!
i've been there in both ways, i have clothes that are like a tent on me then i have the clothes that I've given up fitting into (going from overweight to underweight) so i have a clothes of HUGE clothes and tiny clothes and i'm sitting there with them on my bed and i'm like "right, time to go shopping!" thats a bonus :P
Although budget does play a huge role there, are you skilled with all the sewing and stuff, like shortening waists of pants etc.?
Being 15 i just went out with my birthday money on a lovely shopping trip (actually got some new stuff today too)
I plan to give alot of it away to charities or the smaller stuff to my aunt (she's indonesian and REALLY tiny, naturally of coarse)
what about second hand stores etc. for the time being, or get a couple of belts, it may look dodgey but I've done it!
lol, gratz with the weight loss too!
First off, congrats for reaching the point where your jeans are too big : )
Second, I too am in college and I have a new best friend: consignment. Go to your local "next to new" store, trade in your unwanted baggy clothes, and pick up some cheaper new ones. For me, its a great way to keep my clothes actually fitting while still not spending a whole lot of money!
I've been dealing with the issue of trying to figure out when to buy clothes. I am 18 pounds down so my jeans and other pants are getting too big and they're uncomfortable because I'm constantly pulling them up. Luckily, one of my old pairs that was too small now fits...I'm just holdling out until the rest fit. I don't think I can justify buying clothes (at least new ones) until I'm at my goal.
I am finally down a size and find I have 1 pair of jeans and 1 skirt that fits. Everything is too big and thats not a big plus as I am very broke.
My underwear is too big, my bras are too big. Even my socks are too big because my ankles used to stretch my socks out.
I actually tried on my sons jeans yesterday looking for something to wear! they were not flattering.
lol i know how you feel! I have one pair of jeans that i got for christmas and thats all that fits! and i almost returned them because at christmas i couldnt even get them on! lucky i didnt!! i would say for your underwear try a safety pin if your not good at sewing! lol ive been keeping my eyes open at thrift stores and good will for clothes, but its more socially acceptable for me as a kid to go to those places so i could understand if you didnt lol but i know how you feel. im lucky that i didnt go down a bra size and i was wearing my underwear a little tight (x.x) but ive been wearing the same pair of jeans everyday and i have one other pair i can wear if i put on my old belt to the last hole! and its still loose! lol im definitely getting complaints from my bf to dress better :-P hell have to deal. <3 hope you find something but CONGRATS on loosing that much weight!!! seriously!!!!
While I've been losing weight, I've found that the thrift stores are my best friend! I'm on a faily tight budget, so I can't go buy a new wardrobe every 10 pounds I lose, but I can afford a couple pairs of jeans at the Goodwill. And you get a big boost from wearing a smaller size and having pants that fit! It's funny, I don't mind if my shirts look a little big, but I hate too big pants!
