I was just browsing the good old intertubes when I came across an ad promising some miraculous weight loss!!

"Safely lose 9 pounds of fat in 11 days! Fat loss 4 idiots."

What a suitable product description. For idiots is right!

I like the ones with fake blogs about people who supposedly used Acai berry in your area.  Actually it makes me sad if anyone goes for it.  The blog site is always fake (ie.. not on a real blog server), the comments are fake and conveniently always "closed", and the pictures are usually photoshopped.

Actually i was just watching a documentary about steroids and they were showing how they did the pictures for those ads.  Started with someone usually close up, bad lighting, with no makeup, pooching out their stomach and pulling back their chin so they get a nice double or triple chin. Then for the after they would get dressed up, suck it in, shoot from a distance with warm light, and then photoshop to add some abs and narrow their torso.  I always pretty much knew that, but it was nice to hear a photographer confirm my suspicions.

My brother has lost about 4 stone with FL4I over the past 2 years.  He told me about it ages ago so I don't exactly remember the term to stay on it but I think it was 9 or 11 days at a time.

Each time he does it he generates another set of daily menus from his list of preferred foods.  For instance he might have unlimited bacon and prunes, or cheese and oranges.  The foods you may eat at each meal are designed to NOT make a nice meal eg bacon & prunes, so you get bored with it fairly quickly and stop eating.

You eat as much as you want but have to stop eating when you feel satisfied, not when you feel full - so self-control is required.

Its a diet that drastically limits personal choice.  There are some tough days that are only fruit, others that are only vegetables.

I don't believe it is in any way a diet you could tolerate long term, and indeed they tell you to have a few diet-free days after the 9 days.  Which is when he reaches for the foods not allowed, like bread and alcohol, and pretty much undoes those days of denial.

This yo-yo, back-and-forwards kind of slimming isn't for everyone.  I also think taking your money while asking you to click on "I'm an Idiot" is particularly insulting.

Was that from Bigger Stronger Faster? These two pictures were taken the same day.

I think the caption on that pic should read "I got shredded and waxed in 6 weeks"  lol

I think that the worst part of it that people buy into the claims.  My sister used to sell a weight loss program, and she really believed that it worked.  My cousin had a horrible seizure on the same stuff.  To me that proved that not only did the stuff not work, it was dangerous!

It even looks like they were taken immediately after eachother (notice the exact same way the strings from his trousers are bound).

I dislike ads like those and if you look close at some of the photos it is not even the same person.

A while ago they had this show on in which a personal trainer would come to your house throw out your food and tell you what you should do to reach your goal weight in like 60 days or something like that. Well one girls are about 21 and she lost about 15 pounds and wanted to do a photo shoot so she did, I swear the photo looked NOTHING like her. They sparyed on her tan, made her look sweaty, made her suck in her belly and it looked like they photoshopped her thighs....

It was from Bigger Stronger Faster!!!  I couldn't think of the name at the time.  Good movie, interesting to see a different set of body image issues.
