How long does it take for bulimia to erode the teeth?

I have been making myself vomit around 2-3 times per week for the last few months, and I realize it's unhealthy and I'm attempting to stop, but I'm wondering if I could have already harmed my body, especially my mouth and teeth. Do you think I could have already caused permanent damage?
Answer
Tooth erosion can take about three years to show in an active bulimic. Erosion begins on the back of the front teeth where the stomach acid hits first. To minimize acid damage, do not brush your teeth immediately after vomiting, but rinse your mouth with baking soda mixed in water to neutralize the acid. Severe dental erosion can lead to changes in your bite to eventually cause TemporoMandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ). Frequent vomiting can also produce sore throats, hoarse speech, inflammation of the esophagus, as well as permanent swelling of the parotid glands, resulting in enlarged jowls.
