How long for gains to show? Gain within a day?

Quote  |  Reply

Hi,

Okay so I somehow managed to consume 9000 calories within a day (at a wedding, through being away, having a full breakfast in the morning (including fried things etc...) and constant food throughout the day including lots of wine, 3 course meal, buffets, few slices of wedding cake etc. (This all resulted in a lot of stomach ache later that evening lol)

I am trying to gain weight (in a healthy way though, not like this by eating complete junk!!) but i'm new to all this and have very little knowledge about gain, i just know 3500 over gives a gain of 1lb and 7000 2lbs, and people usually do this over a week...

just posting because I am wondering how long before this gain shows up? and can you really gain 1/2lbs within a day?

Is it physically possible for you gain more than 2lbs within a week?

i put on a kg in a week.

not sure how much that is in lbs. (think it is 2.2lbs)and i am trying to loose weight!
lolso it is definately possible :P
but you will not notice a few pounds on or off.
when you get up to 5 or 7 pounds, then maybe you will notice, but it depends on your frame!
if you are a fat mess weighing over 300 lbs, 5 lbs wont make a diff,if you are a weed and weigh 50 lbs, 5lbs will make a lot of diff =)

That 9000 calories has to go somewhere, and not all of it can be used up, so you probably would gain at least a pound or two just from that. Obviously that's not a good way to gain weight, but it's definitely gained now.

Okay, thanks.

How long before this will show up?

any1?

i'm not an expert but i think it depends on the food and it's just as long as it takes for it to pass through your system... like anywhere from a few hours to a day? of course you're not going to see that much difference in that small amount of time, as it takes a lot of calories to even gain a pound, but i remember when i would stuff myself with thousands and thousands of extra calories the day before a doctor's visit (this was very very early recovery, actually, i wasn't recovering yet) and it showed up the next day, and not just water retention.

how the hell do we know? stop trying to uber control the whole thing. 9000 cals is a lot of cals. it will show up at some point. and it will when it will. nothing anyone says here will impact on how your body processes food. so why not let it go?

I just wanted to find out from people who have experienced the gains.

I don't know why you wasted your time replying to be rude. If you don't like the question you didnt need to reply. Chill out dude.
