It varies based on many factors.  Keep doing the right things like exercising and eating right and it WILL happen.
Hey there,

keep up your exercises and healthy eating and the pounds will come down.

I was doing three days of working out for about 3 weeks while not really watching what I ate and didn't loose anything regardless of working out.

Really be honest with yourself just how much you exercise/burn in calories and how many cals you eat and what you eat.

What kind of work outs do you do? Maybe the intensity is not enough? Do you sweat and get your heart rate going when you work out?

No pun intended but this may be why it's not working so far.

I always gain a little weight when I start a new exercise routine.  I suspect it is mostly water, which your muscles will retain to repair themselves.  Give it a little time and you should see results.   It generally takes a couple of weeks for my body to adjust and drop the water.  Stick with it and you should see results very soon.

Well, I work out 3 x a week, which includes cardio, and weight training.

Mondays - Iterval Training and step aerobics

Wednesday - aerobics and weight training

Saturday - 20 minutes Cardio and 30 minutes weight training

You'll never 'loose' weight.  Loose rhymes with moose.  As in, "My ring became loose on my finger and fell off."

The correct spelling is "lose"  - just a pet peeve of mine.

Thank you for that observation lovlilynne, I'll keep that in mind next time I post a comment.

I guess your pet peeve has been resolved.

Donte:  Looking at your exercise routine, if you are eating properly (notice I didn't say dieting), right now you are changing your body composition.  You are adding muscle, and losing fat, thus the weight looks the same. Keep at it.  what will happen in a few weeks is that this new muscle will consume more and more calories and you will see a net loss in your weight.

Great Job!

Exercise alone won't make you lose weight, it has to be combined with a calorie controlled diet. But both combined you will see results faster than dieting alone, just keep it up and don't give up!
