How long for the new prez's honeymoon?
Any guesses on when the new prez's followers will float back down to earth?
8-ish years should do it for me >_>
I'll never come down from this high.
probably depends on how good of a president he turns out to be
For some of us, its not a matter of having floated from earth but having been lifted out from a hole that we were stomped deep into for years to finally have our feet back on level ground.
This follower exhaled mightly after the results became undeniable election night. Some of us were altered by the experience. I was lifted not just by this man but by this country. Considering supporte rs werent just here but worldwide, the earth feels a bit lighter despite the problems that remain because a solution has arrived.

Depends on how the next 4 years go, doesn't it?
I seriously doubt people you are sarcastically referring to as groupies will give him a pass if he doesn't do the job.
on edit:
That's what I'm thinking too, and he's set the bar pretty high. I'm also thinking he might be smart enough to stay moderate for the first 2 years so his congress doesn't get sacked like the one during Clinton's first term.
Douglas Adams fan?
Honestly.... I wish it is soon. I am really tired of hearing about it all over the news every day - day in and day out.
I hope he does well and delivers on his promises he made during the campaign. Hard spot to be in. But I do not think he is "magic" like some others tend to believe.
I understand why people are floating.... considering our history and all. But really, let's truly be a little color-blind and get down to business! Our country is a mess right now!

That's rhetorical, right?
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.
As for the tasks at hand, setting the bar high is what new presidents do. I seem to remember W promising smaller government, fiscal responsibility, and "compassionate conservatism."
Not that I think Obama will go the route of the W administration, but I think people are more realistic than you're assuming.

Um...the entire first part of the year was about transition, signifying far reaching implications and changes to existing policies, and Obama has been office less than a day. What did you expect?
Oh, and he is "getting down to business". (Actually, he started hours after inauguration....)
I am tired of hearing it...blah, blah, blah, What did they wear - how did they dance... did they do this, that??? What about the kids... blah blah blah. I just cant' wait until all that is over. There are much more pressing issues. It has been since the election. Now - I say we get on with it. That is MY OPINION and you don't have to agree.
Edited to add: Yes - this is exactly what I expected... I am just tired of it.
Then stop watching the news so you can stop complaining about petty stuff.
You right... I shouldn't state my opinion, only you can, alibsam.

Um..I never implied otherwise. ![]()
And if you're complaining about the triteness of the media, I'm right there with you - it's one of the reasons why I don't watch network news. I mean really - did we actually need to know Sasha and Melia's menu choices at school? (The only reason why I know this was reported is because of the lampooning on The Daily Show.)
And, as I indicated, President Obama is getting on with it. I wish I could expect the media to get rid of the fluff - but I'm not holding my breath.
"I mean really - did we actually need to know Sasha and Melia's menu choices at school"
Yep that is what I am talking about. It's not only the news - it is all over the internet too. Front page of Yahoo.

Then I humbly suggest you visit better news source sites. I deleted Yahoo out of my favorites list a long time ago. ![]()

It's not an opinion... it's whining.
Obama's getting down to work and isn't lazing around, unlike Bush. We can't control what garbage the media reports on. We can, however, turn it off, or like santo said, seek out other news sources. There are plenty of places reporting on the issues and not what the Obama girls wore to school.

Then stop whining. If you don't like my posts - don't read them.... there are plenty of other posts to read!
I'll read what I want and respond to want I want. Thanks for trying though.

Honestly.... I will read what I want too and post what I want... Thanks to YOU for trying.
Edited to add - do you notice a pattern here?
