How long and how much? People on cc for greater than 60 days, please.
Hey all,
I'd love to get some long term results from folks on their success using cc to lose weight. If you've been using this site for 2 months or longer I'd love to know what your starting weight was, where you are today and if you're satisified or disappointed with you weight loss to date.
Any thoughts and data would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to get an honest gauge on how this site works for people who've committed to it long term.
Plus, it's fun to give people a chance to brag!

Hello all, I a have been calorie counting since Jan of '07. I just found this website the 18th of august(2 days ago). I weighed 205 when i started cc. I am 5'3" tall. I am now 149 lbs. I was down to 135lbs, but i quit smoking cigarettes. It has been 4 months since i quit smoking. i gained 13lbs back but that is okay since i quit smoking. I want to be down to 135 again. I have lost 1 more lb since. Only 13 more lbs to go. cc works. So keep counting, and good luck to all.

I've been using it since December 07, it helped me lose 7kg till now. I love the about.com guides aswell.
I think they are the most comprehensive guides i've seen so far.
I use CC a lot, i have it bookmarked at work and whenever I eat or about to eat i log it.
I just try to keep it to my level. but 2 months ago i was not able to maintain my diet i was too busy looking after my exams and coursework.
but CC is really nice to use, i love it. ++
More than satisfied with CC. I am no longer counting calories (I go back to losing weight when I start counting), but I do watch my portion sizes and continue to exercise daily.
I have been here since February 2008.

I passed my goal of 140 a while back and kept on going! Currently, my goal is 125.
I started January 2008. I started at 150 and now an 135, so a 15lb loss. But, I have totally transformed the shape of my body through weight training and making my diet 90% "clean". I don't know my actual starting body fat or what it is now, but I can tell you I have lost a considerable amount!
I started the end of March at 195 pounds. I have maintained 177 for the past month. I have the same measurements now that I had when I weighed 165 lbs in December of 2006. It is time to get busy again. I was walking 4-5 miles every day and now I just walk 2 miles each day. I really need to do at least 4 miles to reach my goal weight of 155 pounds. It's nice to know that I can maintain!
I started in mid-January at 208 pounds. That was a wake-up call! Since then I have lost more than 50 pounds. This week my weight is fluctuating around 157. In addition, if you look at my profile, you can see my inches lost. I had a personal trainer who took my starting measurements and we've continued to take them throughout the process. As of August 23, I've lost 53.5 inches over my entire body. I stil have about 22 pounds to lose to reach my goal of 135. I've been counting calories and exercising, no gimmicks. Actually, I eat more than most people on this site probably, usually around 2,000 calories. But I make up a deficit with exercise. I have a high resting metabolism, though, and this is what my doctor and a nutritionist told me to do. Hope that helps!
I've been on here for 4 months and 10 days. and I've only lost 15 lbs out of the 35 I want to lose.
Thats probably because I didn't start for like 2 weeks after I actually signed up, and for most of the summer I didn't try to lose weight at all. But now I'm back on track! :D
Started at 155 in March 3rd, dropped down to 120 by June 1st and have been maintaining. I'd like to lose a little more weight as I'm small framed, athletic, and have arthritis my doctor prefers me around 110-115. I'm not terribly dissapointed with 120 or maintenance but I'd like to drop that last 10lbs.
Hi soobiegustas: I've been on CC since 4/28/08 and was at 365 at that time. I'm a regular user of this website ~ I count every calorie and try to record any and all activity I get daily. I am now at 233 (loss of 132 lbs) with a ways to go until I reach my "goal" weight of 175 or less. CC has really helped me be "successful". I'm sure I will also use CC when it's time for "maintenance"... I wish you Good Luck in your journey.
I have been using CC for about 3 months now. I'm 5'4 and started at 146 and am now 136!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is the most weight I have ever lost! I'm so happy. It took a long time in my opinion to lose 10lbs, but at least I actually for once did it! My next goal is 130, then 128. I hope I make it!

How can I make walking fun?
You have to find a way to make exercise fun or else you won't do it. If you walk indoors on a treadmill, I recommend moving outdoors into the fresh air... Read more
