How long until it shows on the scale..?
You need to eat 3600 calories extra to what you need to maintain your weight in order to gain 1lb in fat. But if you eat a lot of sugar, salt or alcohol you can very easily gain several lbs in fluid quite rapidly. So if you stepped on the scale straight away you might see a big gain. However, if you go back to your regular balanced diet and exercise and wait a week before you step on the scale you'd probably find you'd gained much less or even nothing at all.
What gi-jane said :)
I had a *bad* easter weekend myself. On Monday the scales showed my weight up almost 4 pounds from Friday. Today, it's only up about 1/2 a pound, so no big deal.
Even if I did "gain" 1/2 a pound, it will be gone by the weekend. As long as you don't do it all the time, it's nothing to worry about.
