How long does it take for zig zagging to work, and does it really work?

Quote  |  Reply
I just started zig zagging last week and was wondering how long it is supposed to take for it to start working? And am I supposed to continue to zig zag until I reach my goal weight (I've lost 42 so far and I have another 35lbs. to go)??

Have any of you had good results with the ZZ'ing?? Also, I just started doing some toning exercises along with my treadmill 3 x a week. While ZZ'ing, should I still eat the smaller amount of calories on the days that I am working out??

I am really obsessing here. I have been stuck for about the last month at 170. I think I may have lost a pound so far (since ZZ'ing), but it's hard to tell. I was losing 2lbs a week, so I am hoping to continue to lose at that rate.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I have been zig-zagging for a couple of months and I can't tell you how long it took, however it does work.  Since Sept 3rd (to Dec 16th, last day I was able to weigh in before scale DIED) I had lost 22+ lbs. and I was zig-zagging during that.  Still am, actually.

Wish I was able to give you a more definite answer.
What exactly is zig zagging? I've never heard of it.
I have been zig zagging for 3 wks now and I notice that I lose 1-2 pounds every week. Before zig zagging I would loose weight 1 week than none for two weeks. Now I notice I lose weight every week.

Zig zagging is increasing and decreasing calories but eating the same calories over the course of the week. If you eat 1600 calories every day your body get adjusted to eating 1600 but if you zigzag your body does not get a chance to adjust.

I am suppose to eat 11550 a week, so some days I eat 1200 and some days I eat 2000. I just make sure for the week I don't go over 11550.
Thank you all for your info! That is reassuring. I'll give it a little more time and see what happens. :-)
Ok, I just weighed in this morning, and I have lost 2lbs!!! YAY!!! Thank you all for the info! Looks like the zigzagging is working! ;-)
I'm zig-zagging at the moment ... only started today so I hope it works. =)
