Weight Loss

Watched a health show this afternoon. Five ppl were tested, trained, then retested a month later. All did well. None looked obese to me, just overweight. One man had type 2 diabeties and the exception to the four overweight ppl was one lady.
She looked tall and thin. Come to find out she was in bad shape because she didn't have enough muscle, so her fat ratio was too high. They called her a "skinny fat".
It wasn't that she needed to lose weight, that wasn't her problem. She just had to build muscle.
I never considered thin ppl having that problem and found it interesting.

I sometimes think of overweight people (like myself) as being lucky, because that's a symptom of all of these disorders... but thin people can have these disorders as well but not know it. they may be convinced that they're healthy when such is not the case. it's a good thing to keep in mind, because eating healthy is important for everyone- not just overweight people trying to lose weight.
Yes, eating healthy and exercise are for everyone - now I won't be jealous of anyone else either as we never know what's going on that we can't see! I read in a book called "Younger Next Year for Women" that if a being is not in growth it is in decay. The thing that triggers our brain that it is in growth is EXERCISE. People may look "skinny" but they might not be healthy. Having a strong body that is resistant to disease is better than being undernourished and decaying. At least she's aware. Thanks for sharing that!
Thin does not = fit
Also, and this is more the fact with younger skinny girls either in their teens or in their 20s, they can eat whatever they want and never gain. However, since ppl like me who are in the 20s age range who do gain from eating whatever can watch our cals at an early age and realize what we're puttin in our mouths everyday. One of my best friends was always skinnier than me, she is also about 5'8..i'm only 5'6. She eats whatever she wants although I see that she eats very slow and sometimes doesn't finish all her food yet nonetheless she eats junk. I never noticed how much so until i started calorie count. Sometimes it was soo hard to go out with her cus she'd have a fast food craving like every hr!! lol It's funny though, after 6 months of watchin what i eat, I weigh less than her now and even she notices it. Frankly, as she gets older ..she is the one gaining. I feel like a lot of the skinny girls don't realize until they get older and its much harder to control ur cal intake once u get married and have kids. Starting at a young age i'm sure makes things easier. I'm really lucky to have been a lil chubby 145 and realize what i was doin to myself so now that i'm at 122 i can stay that way. :)
I'm skinny fat. >_< I'm not exactly sure how I got here, but I think it's because my calorie deficit was too high and I didn't exercise enough. I weigh 105 but look like I weigh 120 because I've got a bf percentage of like 25.
I'm also skinny fat. My clothes hide it at least.
