What do you look for in your "Ideal Mate"?

I am doing something for a school project this semester, and was wondering if you would like to contribute. I'm asking people at my school, on various websites, and I am also looking at previous "research" that has been done. So..

What is your ideal partner like? In terms of both physical appearance and personality.

I'll lend a hand with your project. Any day =)

 

Physical:

-Taller than me. This is important because I need to feel feminine. Lifting weights, studying martial arts, and similar activities don't leave me with that feminine feeling. I need it once and a while.

-Clean. This is a big one. He has to take care of his body. I don't mean the whole nine yards (like trimming eyebrows or somesuch), but he needs to respect himself. And, in turn, keep himself clean shaven and smelling good. Smell is a big thing with me. A big turn on is subtle, consitant cologne. Nothing too strong, however.

-Fit. He doesn't have to be a professional athlete, but he does have to take care of his body. This means eating right and keeping himself in shape. Whether he's broad shouldered or lean, as long as he's in good shape, that's what counts.

Personality:

-Respectful. He can make moves, sure, but I'm to be respected. Treat me like your toy, and you'll find your rear on the curb.

-Loyal. Yes, he's allowed to look at other girls. That's fine, so long as he looks and doesn't touch. I need to feel secure with him. I need to trust him. I can't live with uncertainty. Is he sleeping around? That's a question that can't cross my mind.

-Good humored. Take a joke, bloke! If you can't laugh with me (or at me, or at yourself, every so often), you're wasting your time.

-Gentle. A gentle touch is something that is irresistable to me. Be it a hug, a backrub, whatever. It's so important. Why, I'm unsure.

-Patient. He has to be able to put up with my hot temper and agression. I'm very dominant. I don't want him to be a welcome mat (refer to the next point), but he needs to be able to keep his head.

-Pants Wearing. Yes, he has to wear the pants in the relationship. I'll still insist on paying half the bills, but he still has to be the man. Chivalry is awesome, but not manditory.

Turn Ons: (I'm not sure if this is helpful, but I figured I'd cover my bases)

-Warm Hands

-Gorgeous Smile

-Stunning eyes (color isn't important)

-Tenor voice

-A sexy back. Big muscles aren't so important, but definition there is a turn on. Especially when said back pulls a bit on the T-shirt just a bit.

-Light cologne. The same scent, every time. I'm not sure why, but it drives me crazy. This has to accompany overall attractiveness, though.

lol I agree, and since i'm 5'2.. I'm not really into midgets.

 

Physical (in a perfect world)- Taller than me, "thick" i'm not into skinny guys..,  PECKS  and big arms, dark hair, full lips, long eyelashes, non-smoker, big shiney white straight teeth.. I'm a real teeth person lol 

Personality - FUNNY, likes to party, expressive.. says what he means and wants to say but doesn't write me peoms and stuff that creeps me out , indepentant, not clingey, understanding, and cool tempered.

 Lol, I noticed that too.  My reasoning is that what's most likely to make me feel attracted to a male is if he can make me feel like I would lose a fight to him, even if it might not be true.  I've never met a guy shorter than me who can make me feel like that. >.>

Yes it is funny that many said tall is important, but let's remember it's a relative term.  And many said tall(er), so give them a little credit.

as for me, the guy I am seeing right now is 6'5, and very muscular.  I'm 5'2.  So if you want to talk about an awkward height difference..

Generally though:

physical: relatively fit, makes an effort to put forward a good image (ie, an intentional clothing style, good hygiene, etc)

personality: socialist, feminist, capable of sparring with me intellectually, respectful of women with strong opinions (I guess that's still feminist), capable of forming a logical argument, confident, friendly and outgoing, ambitious, helpful

 

Being 5'10", I am definitely into men who are taller and bigger than me.  I'm also attracted to muscular men, well develolped arms are a huge plus, and I am somewhat more attracted to african american men than to other races.  Most of my boyfriends were either blue eyed light haired, or black with shaved heads.  Grooming and smelling good are a big deal to me, I find rumpled clothing and wayward facial / neck hair a big turnoff, but to take a little time to clean up is priceless.

Personality:  HUMOR, CONFIDENCE, self-assured, he can solve problems with logic, compassion, consideration, loyalty, supportive, good listener, interactive, decisive without being controlling are all good things (that I have never found rolled up into just one man, lol!!)

id like a guy to be taller than me but im only 5'4" so thats like no challenge

i dont really care about looks, as long as its someone funny, kind, smart and caring, that loves me for who i am inside, not about how i dress, how big my chest is or how fat/thin i am.

intelligence, humor.

personality: always up for anything, witty and crazy funny, and a Christian too.

physical: willing to be physical more days than one, HOT of course

thats what I want, but I dont mind if I dont get. I leave it up to God.

Physical: I don't have set in stone standards for this, but definitely taller. I am super attracted to guys abuot 6 inches taller than me or more... (my last bf was 6'2, im 5'2 =P). In shape to a point. If theyre chubby but take care of themselves by working out and trying to be healthy - that's fine. I prefer them not to be couch potatoes. I also like them to dress clean. I don't care if theyre not all dressed up all the time. You can make a t-shirt and jeans look tidy.

Personality: Trustworthy, loving (as in, isn't afraid of touching/cuddling), outgoing and willing to try new things, and PLAYFUL.

For physical attributes, I practice the Compensation Theory of Beauty. Which goes, if a girl has a very prominent feature that is exceptionally beautiful, I may be willing to forgive her other genetic mistakes. Example: if she has small breasts, I may be willing to forgive her and give her a chance if she has a really cute face.

Here are my values when it comes to physical beauty:

1. I like large breasts, I will never date a girl with a flat chest or very small breasts.
2. I like moderately thin girls, obese girls and overweight girls I will not date.
3. I like girls with curves and wide feminine hips, so anorexics are out. Nice hip to waist ratio.
   
4. Clear nice skin is a must, see a dermatologist girls.
   
5. Clean white sparking even teeth with no tooth decay.
6. Soft hands. A MUST.
   
7. nice hair, no Mohawks, shaved heads, or gaudy colored hair.
8. Average height in the 5'1 to 5'8 range. I hate tall girls and midget chicks.
9. Cute face with a nice smile.
10. Preferably no blonds unless she is Brazilian.
    

I could go on, but I want to remain PG-13 on here. Physical looks are generally more important than personality.

Personality

1. Don't be the woman from that movie Single White Female.
2. Do not be clingy or needy! I cannot emphasize this enough. No calling five times a day, or asking what I'm doing or if i want to hang out every second.
3. Has an active and interesting life. if you're not active, you're living vicariously through mine and draining me.
4. Believes in open relationships. she can see whoever she wants and I will see whoever I want.
5. Isn't a slut.
   
6. Isn't boring, conventional, and bland. Most women that have degrees in the science field can be very very boring and bland.
   
7. Is sexual and flirts, even in public. Flirtatious is a very sexy quality.
   
8. Open to new things and ideas, but has her own identity and won't begin to copy every gesture and thing that I say.
9. Not controlling and overly jealous. If i want to go to a strip club with friends, then I will.
   
10. Gives me ****. She tests me to see if i'll react poorly and chodey. She will ask me to wait on the phone for her while she talks to someone else for 10 minutes. she will say my shirt sucks and that I'm gay. Which i'll just laugh at because it's funny.
    
11. No overuse of sarcasm like some Suicide Girl. Sarcasm is lame.
12. She laughs at my jokes. I do realize that most women aren't funny, but if they laugh at me, everything is cool.
13. Playful. we can act like kids and waste hours laughing.
14. Independent and unconventional. She isn't a stereotypical female that likes tall dark handsome men, believes in committed relationships, and thinks that the men should open her door for her. She is slightly rebellious and questions the values and morés of her culture.
15. Doesn't do hard drugs or has had sex with IV drug users in the past.
    

Of course a girl of this quality may not even exist, but I'll willing to yield because I practice Compensation Theory. Don't hate.

Although I wouldn't be your type anyways because I'm overweight, blond, get pimples, do not belive in open relationships, want to major in science (however I'm not boring, jeez), am sarcastic, and fit under the stereotype of liking an actractive man who actually wants to be with me.

If you ever do find a woman that meets the majority of your criteria, good on you. But you might have to pay for it, in cash.

I do agree with you on your last point though, I would never have a junkie as my partner.

 Well said!  My personal favorite was number 6 on the personality list.  If you look at the numbers (at least, where I'm from), it is not conventional for a woman to have a degree in the science field.  We're outnumbered.  I would know, I pretty much have 3 science degrees.  (Insert sarcastic "suicide girl" tone) The really important question is, are my big boobs enough to make up for those 3 degrees? 

Also, #4 and #14 on personality are just a little contradictory, no? 

Appearance--Dark Hair, Blue eyes, physically fit, or a little chubby! I don't mind the height, I would like him to be taller, but I'm 5'9.5'' so I'm not too picky. I like guys with style, and shaggy hair, but a clean look.

Personality--Sweet, FUNNY, loyal, caring, loves me for me, and not too clingy! I like guys that don't mind if I don't want to talk to them every hour!

Also, #4 and #14 on personality are just a little contradictory, no?

As far as looks go: 

gotta be somewhat athletic, and if she's not i'll help her get there as long as she's willing.  medium build...don't care about her chest....I like butts ....and nice legs... she should have medium length hair...full but not big lips.

I like funny women with class.  corny women are extremely cute (mine). 

to be honest...I probably would give any woman a chance as long as she's an all around good person.  I mean I'm not a good looking guy, so who am I to judge...I like a chick who's real....that's all.

There's no way I would ever bend over to kiss a guy. 

With that said, they have to be 6 feet or over, funny, and I usually go for brunettes. They also have to dress nice and have good style. And lean, I don't like really big, bulky men. But all in all he has to be nice, definitely not slutty, and just a good person. Sense of humor and personality always win. I'm also not too keen on really big drinkers and party type guys.

Physically:

Someone at least 4 inches taller than me so I can still wear heels when I go out.

Skinny and toned.

Pridddddy hair. Dark hair is a bonus.

Good dress sense.

Nice hands and shoulders

No tan! I hateeee tans more than anything in the world. If they aren't luminous in the moonlight then no thanks :)

Personality:

A good laugh. But in a sarcastic way.

Must be at least as intelligent as I am.

Sociable. And he has be able to dance well enough that I don't cringe when going out with him.

i'm not normally one to assume, but i'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that bradlupis is single... i also think it's cute how he has no picture of himself!

as for me,

-height: my height or taller (i'm 5'7")
-motivated: works hard, wants to be successful (later in life: IS successful)
-sense of humor: makes me laugh!
-intelligent, interested in current events
-playful and fun, doesn't take himself too seriously
-good dresser, or willing to let me take over in the fashion department
-classy: treats me like i'm a lady, believes in committed relationships (in other words: is a man, not a boy)
