What do you look for in your "Ideal Mate"?
I am doing something for a school project this semester, and was wondering if you would like to contribute. I'm asking people at my school, on various websites, and I am also looking at previous "research" that has been done. So..
What is your ideal partner like? In terms of both physical appearance and personality.

"Ideal Mate?" haha "Not bradlupis", sorry man.
thats what i was thinking. like wow, some people seriously get my heart pumping. (in anger)
I'm pretty easy to please.
Physical: Taller, healthy to chubby weight (skinny men with ribs poking out are not attractive to me...I've seen this once and was, I hate to say this, kind of repulsed), and no facial hair.
Personality: Funny, witty, and ambitious.
Extra: No long distance relationships; not too large a difference in age.
haha good idea posting the idea here. It looks like you have alot of research!
Physically- I would prefer a somewhat fit partner, but really as long as he is active and doesnt sit on the couch all day, I am good. He HAS to have a nice face though. Nice jaw structure (is that how you say it?) and I actually do like a little stubble, but clean shaven is fine too. Nice eyes, any color. haha, and it would be cool if he could pick me up!:)
Personality and such- I cant have a dumb partner. I am not a genious, but having a partner smarter than me who could teach me things and knows what he wants in life is perfect. I need him to be sensitive to others feelings. I cant stand insensitive people. Funny, of course! and overall optimistic person who could bring me up when I am down and I can help him out too, which means he needs to be honest with me so we can have a stronger relationship.
lol...nice funindasun ...lol
Physical: Really doesn't matter. Seriously. Tall, short, thin, fat, pale, dark, hairy, smooth, whatever. As long as the personality is good then I have no problems with physical attraction.
Personality: These attributes are more or less set in stone. Must be: pro-choice, does not believe in stereotypical gender roles, athiest or agnostic, does not want children (very important because I can't have any and don't want to adopt), is not racist or bigoted in any way, sexually open minded, monogamous, kind, confident
Personality... someone who won't judge me if I only eat a salad when we go to dinner, or order a -gasp- diet coke. Someone who will share a dessert with me, or at least not comment if I don't finish the massive hunk of it.
In physical and looks, I would go for someone who is the proper weight and works out prety regularly. I mean, not the people who obsess over it every second, but light workout, you know? In personality, they need to be respectful, careing, and they HAVE TO RESPECT AND BE FRIENDLY TO EVERY ONE. Not just one group of friends, they need to honor everyone, not hate some. They need to have an even temper, not too interested in popularity and impressing you, getting into fights to impress you. You have to be able to talk to them without them laughing at you or not listening. And they (obvious, but comonly overlooked) have to actualy like you. Not just a like as in a couple months, but LIKE LIKE. Good Luck! :)
My friend was telling me about this the other day.. some scientist people did a study and tested a bunch of guys.. made them wear the same shirt without washing it for 20 days or something like that. Then they had women smell the shirts and see which one the were most attracted to. Most women chose the shirts of men who had the largest gene difference with them. The larger the gene gap, the smaller chance there will be for mutations in offspring. So I guess opposites do attract.
And smell is a huge part of finding a mate. If you think they are funny, smart, etc, but they STINK... it's not going to work out.

lol actually that's a good idea. I notice when I wear a certain perfume it makes me feel more relaxed, and good about myself. Wierd what smells do.
And certain colognes drive me crazy... I'll just want to gravitate towards the person who smells best lol, even if they aren't the best looking.
I have a thing for older women who wear CharlieWhite....mmmmmmmmmmm...smells sooooo gooooooood...lol
Personality: Same taste in music is a MUST! I tried dating someone without this in common and it was awful! Also the same living values and can make me laugh is also a plus.
BTW this midget with two science degree's isn't bradlupis dreamgirl either. (Don't numbers 4 and 5 on the personality list contradict each other?)
Physical: not TOO tall, i.e., not over 5'10". Because I'm short. Lip-to-hip ratio is most important, but it's also nice to be able to slow dance. I do like shorties. My DH is just barely 5'10" - most of his height is in his legs so when we are sitting, we're practically the same height.
Dark hair (I don't trust blondes... even though I am one!), sexy eyes (can be any color), nice smile. Build: I like lean, fit, the kind of build you get as a runner. With a gorgeous butt. I'm a sucker for that. ;-)
Personality: shares same interests in art, literature, theater, science, etc. Intelligent. Believes Evolution is fact, not fiction. Talkative. Social. Great sense of humor. Curious mind. Well-read. Reads before bed (something other than just newspapers and magazines).
Able to clean and cook and appreciates a clean, organized house as much as I do so does his fair share without prompting or nagging. Someone who says please and thank you and has excellent manners. Open-minded. Healthy emotional relationship with money (i.e., not a spendaholic but also not a cheapskate). Must like kids.
Not a classist. By that I mean he is equally happy and comfortable hanging out with my blue-collar friends OR my upper class relatives. (I came from a middle-class background but my dad made it big later on... this was a huge sticking point for my ex... he was quite a reverse snob about my family).
Playful. Believes, as I do, that the primary purpose of marriage is "to have fun."
Optimistic!!! Because I am. ;-)

charliewhite? sounds like you have a thing for reeeaaallly older women. lol jk.
I love sean paul gautier, any of their scents are amazing for both women and men. and ferrari black for men. drool drool drool.
edit: mintberry> power to the midgets!
I made a list once when I was about 14, and funnily enough it's all things that apply to my fiance (except he's not tall - if I wear heels I'm taller than him! But he's average-height for a chinese guy and I for one think he's sexy, which is all that matters), but it still took 6 months of him chasing me before I noticed. Tsk, girls these days. As I remember, it was:
Dark hair and skin, dark eyes and long eyelashes. Tall. Plays an instrument. Draws or paints. Writes. Cooks well. Good. Is a strong Christian, and someone I can learn from. Smart and interested in life. Thinks I'm beautiful even when I'm vegging out in an old tracksuit and bare feet. Gentle. Generous.
Hmm. I just noticed he doesn't write, either. On the other hand, he irons, which I flat-out refuse to do (we've agreed to trade chores we hate for ones we don't mind, so I'll wash dishes, he'll iron, and we'll both cook and clean the bathroom. Hopefully not all at the same time).
Anyway, just wanted to add that, growing up from our teen years onward, my family had this annual ritual. Every Thanksgiving, we'd go around the room and say what we looked for in our future mate. Each person's list would be written down and stored for the next Thanksgiving, where it would be read again (usually with much laughter), and we'd delete or add items to the list.
When we each got married, the list reappeared at our bridal showers and got read again!! I still have my list somewhere around her - I take it out every now and again to have a good laugh!
We're now doing the same ritual with my teen girls and their cousins. ;-)

I just realized (waaayy belatedly) that I had replied to a post in the Young C-C group. And at 42 I probably don't qualify for membership. ;-)
Aw don't worry jen. Your still young at heart as I can see from the fun games you play lol.

Shhh, Jen, we won't tell if you don't ;-)
physically: taller than i am, skinny, good fashion sense, i'm not that picky though
personality: smart, charismatic, proud of me, supportive, funny, willing to act like a kid, willing to go out occasionally but not a total party animal, likes reading, is geeky.
my boyfriend now doesn't meet all of these - his fashion sense is atrocious! - but i still like him a lot. most important to me is the connection, that he likes me FOR ME, and that he's supportive of everything i do. we have fairly different interests (i like art and "indie" things, he likes computer games) but we compromise and it works out fine. plus, we learn a lot from each other!
Preferably a woman with no back hair issues. She should like eggs, but not the balut kind. Her fingernails should be longer than mine, but her fingers should be shorter, like dainty.
A woman who smells of citrus or grapefruit, which I guess is essentially citrus. So, yeah... Citrus.
It would probably be good if she owned a couch.
My ideal mate would have red hair. I do love redheads. Dark hair too, because thats mysterious. Can the girl have two colors? That would be nice. She should play the drums.
There is a hot blond house-sitting next door. I would totally go out with her. She could be a potential date. So let's go with her, unless she wants to have nothing to do with me.
Personality, hmmm... she should speak English. Funny, not annoying, easy going, not tell you to put on some pants just because her boss is coming over for drinks. She should have an attractive female boss who cant hold her liquor.
Do very thin models get their periods?
Models menstruate if their body type is naturally thin, but if their small size is due to an eating disorder, then they lose their periods just like anyone... Read more
