Tonight I will be moving my new elliptical into my house :) I'm really excited! I have used one before at the gym, but didn't really know what I was doing. Also, I find boredom to be the ultimate cause of ending of my session as opposed to exhaustion. Any suggestions for making the most of my workout?
Regarding boredom, listening to the radio (live or podcast) is my favourite distraction. Works equally well when I do the dishes ![]()
I have mine set up in front of the TV. I always make sure I save my favouritist show of the day to watch while I elliptisize. These days it's True Blood.

I watch my favorite shows with volume and closed caption while also listening to my Ipod for songs set up in five minute intervals, as each song changes I increase the resistance until I am half way to my target time then go back down insequence. This keeps me on beat without actually looking at time in increments. Sometimes I space out, song over then up or down my resistance. I easily can do an hour this way (lost 130 lbs, kept off for a year so far) every morning. Don't feel like my day has started until done. Been doing this regime for 2 years.
