Looking for a Buddie!
Hey, I'm Katharine and I am 13. I decided to lose weight, as i've been stedily gaining for the past two years but don't think i'll manage alone. I live in England and my hobbies include singing, writing and swimming (but i have little confidence to swim or sing in public because of my weight; i have mega low self esteem!) I want to reach my target weight by August, when i turn 14. I'm going to America and it's gonna be hot, so i want to wear sleeveless tops and skirts and stuff with confidence.

Target Weight: 130 (by August)

Heya! Just to let you know, if you're not aware of it (and if you are, forgive the repetition), remember the minimum intake for a sedentary female under 21 is 1500 per day. And believe it or not, that’s only the sedentary minimum. Unless you are very, very short and small, and/or if you are working out it is very likely you will need even more calories than those minimum guidelines.
As you are under 21, CC's tools are inaccurate and you should use this calculator instead: http://www.bcm.edu/cnrc/bodycomp/bmiz2.html as you are still growing. Yes, even in the later years - there's more going on inside of you that you simply can't see.
I'd also suggest you read An Unofficial Calorie Count Guide to a Fad-Free 2009. It covers the basics of calorie counting, largely in how to do so safely and sensibly without resorting to drastic methods.
Saying this, you are awfully young. How tall are you? Really, at your age, you shouldn't be focused on losing weight. You're likely due for a growth spurt that will need full nutrition to be fueled properly! Besides, the world of diets and calories isn't one a young girl (or a young anyone) need rope themselves into. Try to learn yourself healthy eating habits, not so much to count calories! Balancing your plate, making sure you get at least five servings of fruit and veg, being concious of your choices AND making sure you treat yourself once in a while. Honestly, you have a world out there to enjoy, don't bog yourself down!

i have the same problem as you with the self esteem, im a great comedian, actress, singer, and model( lmao idk as my friends) i know im going to be famous and im taking my friends with me, but i cant do it with my weight because no casting director wants a fat girl to play a major part in a film or tv show.
