Hey newlook08, Well, I actually gained weight this past Saturday, but I plan to do so much better this coming Saturday. I started 2 Saturdays ago at 245, but this past Saturday I weighed in at 247.5. I really plan to do better this Saturday, so I should have some good news to tell ya'll.....

I know that this group originated a week or so ago, but I was hoping to get in. I am 5'4" and 225 pounds, and ready to get rid of this extra baggage. I think it would be far easier to do this with a group rather than by myself, so if there is still room for me, that would be great.

I am turning 30 on the 19th of January and have spent the last few months trying to comprehend why I am still fighting this battle. This is not where I pictured myself at 30 - and for that I am very disappointed. The most weight I have dropped is 20 pounds, and at that point I feel so good that I lose sight of the ultimate goal. So this time I am determined to get there - primarily because I know I would feel so much better about myself - and secondly, so that I can have a baby. I won't do it to myself right now - and my husband and I are not getting any younger. I have tried getting pregnant in the past, but am taking a solid six to seven months off to lose some weight and get healthy. So the clock is ticking - and I would love to make some friends doing this. Thank you for listening to me ramble - and best wishes to all of you on your weight-loss journey! :)

I am right there with you I need to lose weight before we can try for our next baby. We plan to start trying either late summer to early fall so I have a decent amount of time to take the weight off I just need to stick with it! Would this be your first baby? I have three and this next one would be the last but I am definitely not at a healthy weight to be pregnant again!! Good luck!!

Welcome Ktheil. You are more than welcome to join. Good luck on your weight loss journey. You know, it is not easy losing weight, but I truly believe that we can do it. It takes a lot of work and committment, but in the end we can truly say that it is worth all of the work. Our weekly weigh-ins are on Saturdays. hey:)how is every1 doing?i on my third day! been to gym for a hour ad half yesterday.burt of 500 calories there..and 300 today!

eating 1600 calories a day too! Hopeit is working:(we will see on tuesday when i weight!!xx

I know it's Friday and we weigh in on Saturdays but I'm going out to eat dinner with my husband tonight. (Date night) and I know I'll have gained after tonight. I'm so excited RIGHT NOW I can't wait.  I'm 3.6lbs away from my first mini goal. I'm down 11.4lbs total. WHOO HOO! I know allot of that was water weight (and a pair of jeans I was wearing when I took my start weight.) but I'm headed in the right direction. We got a big group here. Lets see some more post. Hey all.....I am  so on board with you guys. I have been looking for a group like this. I am 34 years old and 5' 5" tall. My SW was 241 on Jan 2. As of today I am down to 234. I am very excited about this as I have waiting so long to lose the weight.....Let me say that again. I have waited to long to get off the couch and do something about it.Guess we have to be honest about it right....lol... I have been reading all the posts and thought maybe it would be a good idea for the ones that are wanting to chat using the IM, that we put our user name and what messenger we are using. I"m not sure about gaining weight when you try to lose weight. Maybe someone else can answer that.

I also wanted to share a new low calorie snack that I found. It's called Sweet Freedom Fudge Lites. It's made by Blue bunny. It's only 35 calories for 1 bar. It really helps me at night when I want to snack the most. Well, good luck all!

I am new and about two weeks late in your journey.  I would really love to team up with you all on this weight loss battle.  I am 5'6 and at 188.  I am really frustrated with myself, to the point that I literally stopped taking care of me.  I gained much of the weight after my second child which was 2 yrs ago lol.  Its been a tough and long road, one that included postpartum depression.   But its a new year and a new start for me.   I was 145 before the baby mind you that I had lost 80 lbs after my 1st child.  I know what it takes to loose the weight the right way but somehow it's been hard to stay on track.  I work fulltime and ofcourse I am the mother of 3 kids (1 of the kids being the dH) eh.   And I hate to admit this to myself right now but I have been too busy taking care of them instead of taking care of myself.

 

hey:)how has every1 done with there weigth this week??i weighed in this morning and came to 197.8!!thats a total of 5.2 lb since tuesday:)! that was g ood considering i slipped up with the alcohol i drank last night and went over my calories!

Hey everyone! Well, I know that it is a little late, but I weighed in at 243 this morning. That's a lost of about 4 pounds so it is definetly better than nothing. You know, I really expected it to be a lot more, but I have been working out like crazy so MAYBEEEEE that has got a little something to do with it. Great job to all of you, and keep up the good work.....Smile

P.S. I've heard that gaining muscle can make you gain weight. Has anyone else ever heard of this?

4lbs is Great Riecee!!! You should be thrilled! Yes gaining muscle can make you gain weight, but it's good weight. I read that for every 1lb of muscle you gain, you will burn an extra 50 calories a day.

I have a question. I've gone to the gym several times and worked for 45 min up to 1 hr at times. I sweat my butt off. Will I'm exercising I keep thinking that I"m gonna be hurting the next morning. But I never hurt afterwards. My question is if I'm working out right shouldn't I be sore or hurting the next day? It's not making sense to me. There is no way to step it up. I push my self real hard at the gym. I guess I feel like if I'm hurting then something must be working. No pain no gain! Right!!! Anyone have any idea's?

Reginalynn - I've heard that you wont necessarily hurt after a gym session - if you stretch properly. I have a friend that works out religiously and never gets pain - unless they try something completely new - and start working a new muscle area.

I started back at the gym yesterday and def felt it in my arms and stomach this mrorning - but mainly because I hadn't been for a while. I don't usually get pain afterwards. I hope that helps. Any one else with the same experience?
