Anyone interested in being my buddy?? I have used CC in the past (but have since forgotten my password/login!) Back then I wasn't committed to losing the weight, but that has changed... now I have support from by BF. Only problem is my bf isn't over weight. It would really be nice to have someone (or ones :o)) on this journey with similar stats.
Hey bexxeb!
I just recently started my weight loss journey, along with joining CC. I am 24 5'8 and 263lbs. I'd love a weight loss buddy, I've been working out with my best friend for about three weeks and although he is very supportive there are just some things he can't relate to(considering he is 5'11 and 150lbs!). It would be awesome to have a "girl" I can rant to about these issues.
With diet and exercise I have managed to lose 7lbs in the last three weeks! It's only just begun!
Pixiegwen-
7lbs! That's awesome, you're on your way! :o) I totally understand having a male as a workout buddy. They can be super supportive and great motivators but they just don't have the same obstacles as us women (hormonal cycles, cravings, our bodies simply wanting to store more fat for child baring).
So, what's your ultimate goal? I would really love to get down to 150, but I haven't seen that weight since I was about 15, so I'm shooting for 170. Seems more realistic.
hi
first of all welcome back on CC.. i did the same thing when i first joined.. difference is that i didnt forget my password. im 28 happily married , have a son gained alot of weight during pregnancy, i started 3 months back at 230 lbs.. im now 210 lbs. looking forward to loosing lots more

Hey y'all I'd love to buddy up too! Add me as a friend :] I started at 240 and have lost 2 pounds in about 3 days.. so now I'm down to 238. I'd love some more support && I can definitely be encouraging!

Has anyone set up rewards for themselves? mine are in my profile ;o) I can't wait for the last one!
bexxeb thanks! I've been on calorie count for a bout a month and a half now and finally getting around to being REALLY focused and feeling the goodness of healthy weight loss! my ultimate goal is 160.. and my first mini goal is 199 by thanksgiving! just to be under 200 again would be wonderful :] rewards sound like a great idea... I have no idea where to start though haha guess I should take a look at yours for some inspiration
I’m in.
I have the same story as you do I would come in here & read/lurk.
My husband helps me but he doesn’t have weight issues on the contrary he eats to build muscle, but he helps & pushes me during weight training.

you have lost over 20lbs?!?! That's awesome.:o) I'm jealous~
So I guess now that there are people on board we could share some snack/recipe/workout ideas?
Would you girls want to have a weigh in day or something?
Any suggestion?!
I am 35 years old 5 4" 230 lbs. I just started CC 2 days ago. It seems great. I am a very busy person out and about homeschooling my kids and eat out alot. I need to get a little book to keep track of what I am eating. I would love to join you guys.
A weigh-in day sounds great. Maybe Thursdays? I'm really open for any day but that's just a suggestion :]
Thursday is fine with me. :o)
I have some food suggestions:
-Pepperidge Farm Light Style Soft Wheat Bread- only 45 cals per slice!
-Healthy Choice lunch meats- 60 cals for 6 slices
-Quarker cheddar cheese rice snacks (YUM!)- 70 per serving
-Skinny Cow Skinny Dippers (OMG soooo delicious- I have the mint and vanilla)- 80 cals
Thursday it is then :]
What are the skinny dippers? They sound interesting. I was reading a post today on another forum and a girl mentioned sugar free popsicles.. I'm sure they'd be a nice treat when you needed something cool and sweet without real sugar.
Also, I LOVE fresh fruit & vegetables and many of them are VERY low in calories and have several vitamins and minerals in them in one serving. Especially apples, bananas, grapes, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, etc. I also like the 1/2 cups of Mott's unsweetened applesauce those are usually less than 100 calories too.. and no sugar added but still sweet because they are made from apples. I usually try to have a handful of nuts (almonds, sunflowers, etc.) with it though to feel satisfied longer and get in some protein or nonfat yogurt which are both less than 100 calories too (if haven't noticed I love 100 calories snacks and eat 5 meals a day). I also religiously eat Special K for breakfast with organic nonfat milk mmmm.. I have every kind of Special K you can imagine. That 10 day challenge they have inspired me and some days I do replace two meals with Special K to mix up my calories. OOO pretzel sticks and 100 cal popcorn are also really good snacks too.
Lastly, I recommend buying fresh products in bulk and bagging them up the night you buy them for the week. I know it's a lot of work but it really does help to grab and go.
And thanks for the bread recommendation.. I've been looking for a bread low in calories.. lowest I could find was 100 cals and that's still a lot per slice. Does the kind you buy have lots of fiber too?
Tmoakley-
I LOVE LOVE LOVE veggies... I really like celery hearts. <3 Skinny Dippers are like ice pops but are frozen yogurt dipped in a thin layer of chocolate. OMG I wish I had one right now..
The bread has 1 gram of fiber in each slice (4% of the daily recommended value). I think Weight Watchers bread is really low in calories too so you should check that out.
As for eating 5 meals a day I do the same... my boss makes fun of me... he says everytime he walks by I'm eating (it's so true lol!)
Oh and for another treat... my coworker swears on frozen yoplait whips, never had them, but she has good taste.

Home schooling your kids must be so tough! You should def. start a book to count calories... it's amazing how many calories certain food contain. You should try what tmoakley suggested... "Lastly, I recommend buying fresh products in bulk and bagging them up the night you buy them for the week. I know it's a lot of work but it really does help to grab and go." That way when your super busy you can still snack smart :o)

Heyy.. welcome to the group :]
Everyone,
I'm game for a Thursday weigh in! So I'll have to start weighing in on Thursdays begining next week, since I already weighed in today. As of today I am at 262.4(every ounce counts lol)!. I have been going to the gym about 5-6 times a week for roughly about an hour - an hour 1/2, I am pushing myself to do about 45mins of cardio split on the elliptical and recumbent bike(the bike gives you one hell of a work out) followed by around 30mins of strength training which I alternate days between upper and lower body, today was lower body/legs. I find that going to the gym first thing in the morning really works out great because I have the rest of the day to focus on healthy eating and getting enough healthy calories in my diet. Plus you have an awesome amount of energy the rest of the day.
Oh! I'm so intimidated by the "strength training" machines at the gym!
Ugh! Is it ever going to be 5 so I can get out of here?!?!?!?!
:o)
I knoooow 5 pm just couldn't come soon enough. Don't be intimidated.. you could even start with some strength training at home :] go get ya self some weights!
Sooo... How did everyone do with the dreaded weekend munchies!?! I did well I'm happy to say! Hope you all did too :o)
The weekend was wonderful and I was almost terrified to step on the scale this morning. I ate out atleast once everyday and fell completely behind on my water and no idea what kind of calories I took in lol Oh well. I stepped on the scale this morning and opened my eyes to face the scale and I maintained my weight this weekend :] ahhhh... yay, right? I'm so happy you did well this weekend too. It can be a struggle sometimes. I go on vacation for a whole week next week.. any suggestions on how to maintain my weight and not go overboard? I prob wont have access to calorie count and it will be really hectic. It's not really vacation I'm actually going out to cali to help my family take care of their third baby girl with my little sister.
bexxeb: gonna try that strength training this week?
