Hi Shawna!

Nice to meet you.  I am 36 years old, 5'2" and would like to lose about 25 pounds.  I'm in Dallas, Texas and new to the site.  I started last Monday and by Friday I lost FIVE pounds.  (woo hoo)  Then all five pounds were back on Tuesday morning. . . . .oooops.  So I'm battling the consistency thing like I think so many others do as well.  I didn't think I did THAT bad this weekend, but because I didn't record it I don't really know, do I?  I'm hoping to get back to my typical weight which is about 10 pounds lighter and then go for another 10 - 15 for a slim summer.

I'm on 1550 calories per day and feeling like that is a LOT (((((yea!)))))  so I should be able to stick within these guidelines.  I'm trying to eat healthy quality foods.  I've been consistently working out for 2+ years so at least that part is not a struggle.

Have a great day!

Heather

Nice to meet you Heather,

well it took me a bit to really get into this site, i joined back in dec but didnt really get started til mid jan ... but since then i have lost 10lbs .. which i am so excited about ... i have a hard time trying to reach the amount of calories they tell me to eat but i am consistent, sticking between 1000-1200 cals a day .. try as i might i just can't get the 1700 and some i am suppose to have ... and every night i talk myself into working out ... but i do it diligently .. switching between the dvds i have and a web site i have found so i can have variety .. helps to keep me going .. i'm gonna try to lose as much as i can (healthly .. if thats a word .. lol) before mid april, cuz then i head back to work and i will have to readjust my routines (i hope i stick with it when my season starts up) ... you can always add me as a friend if you wish .. and if ya ever need a kick you know where to find me .. i'm here almost every day ... :o)

Shawna

Nice to meet you both.  I'm a 30 year old mommy of 1 crazy 2 year old.  I joined awhile ago and started at 210 lbs (yickes).  I have been doing the up and down thing and could use motivation.  I am a very lazy person.  I workout when I get sick of looking in the mirror.  I am going to get down to 150 in June.  Laughing  I am currently at 186.5 lbs, watching what I eat and walking outside when it's warm.  I am the type of person that needs someone to report to about my weight (or brag to) whatever sounds nicer.  Embarassed  I hope that we can all help each other out.

Have a great weekend!!

Kate

heya Kate,

your always welcome to brag it up to me .. in return you get to read my rant and rave about my ups and down ... lmao ... i hope i can reach 150 lbs by june too .. and 130-140 by the end of sept ... i'm on a good start so far ... since i have gotten serious about i have lost 10lbs in a month ... now its just continueing the trand for the last of my weight ... once it warms up here i can go for my walks and hopefully learn to run again .. cuz thats been awhile .. lmao .. anyways .. cheers to you and add to your friends list if you wish!!!!

Shawna

Hi Kate,

Nice to meet you!!!!  I would LOVE to hear you brag!!!!!  I'm home sick today with a sinus infection.  Just sleeping the day away and hoping the antibiotics I got from the doctor yesterday will kick in.  Feeling tired, headachey and have just eaten carbs today. . . . hopefully next week more / better news to report when I get back on track.

Have a great weekend to you both,

Heather

Heather I hope you feel better.  I am very glad to hear I have two of you to brag to.  I weigh in on Fridays so a week from today I hope to really start my bragging.  Have a great weekend and Thanks Bunches!!  Laughing

Kate

shawna

Hi Shawna and Kate,

Sounds like you both did pretty good this weekend.  Congratulations!  My weekend was a total loss for calorie counting, but I am now feeling so much better -- good ole antibiotics, eh?

I'm ready to brag about my "back on track" day today.  I am under calorie limit by 50 calories and done eating for the day.  I also ran today (25 minutes) and lifted weights (one hour with trainer).

Two questions for you both.

1.  Do you know how we can get out of Introduce Yourself and under another heading, like people chatting?  I tried but did not see how to do that.  I guess it doesn't really matter.

2.  Do you try to eat your caloric limit each day or stay below it?  I can see where both might be beneficial.

Shawna, get a digital scale so then I can be jealous!!!! I have an old analog scale I can't get rid of because it works and I guess because like you said, who wants to do that?

Kate, you are so awesome for staying on track this weekend -- that is my most difficult time.

(((((((skinny vibes))))))))) to you both.

Heather

Heather,

I am glad to hear you are feeling better.  Great job on the workout too.  I am not working out a lot yet.  I am trying to adjust to the calorie counting first.  Bad excuse, I know!!

To answer your questions, the only thing I have noticed is the ability to send messages to people in your friend list.  We can probably email someone from the head of the website to find out.  And as far as calorie counting, I personally try to stay as close to my goal as possible.  I try not to go over but foods you eat are not all round numbers.  On the down side, if you have too few calories that isn't good either.  I actually set my daily calorie goal lower than what the website calculated for me.  It works out a lot better for me.  I have noticed in the last few days that I have cut a lot of boredom eating out of my diet.

I used to use the analog scales and used to see spiders on the wheel sometimes.  LOL!!  Laughing  Me no likey spiders!!  I have a digital scale now and you can calibrate it easier then the analog.  Mine you just have to step on once and let the numbers run until you see double zeros.  Easy!!  If you hate shopping for things like that.  Research your local stores online and run in, grab it and run out.  I do all my research online before I go buy something.  I don't like shopping so it saves on standing in the store trying to figure out what I want.  Salespeople think it is weird that I know exactly what I want when I walk in.  If it isn't on the shelf I ask specifically for what I saw online.  Some stuff is online only so beware of that.

I hope I have helped a little in my page of writting this morning.  Have a great week!!

Kate

Hey Ladies,

Top of the morning to y'all ... lmao .... for my calorie intake tend to a bumper zone of 100 either way ... and there is the odd time that i will exceed it by about 300-400 on special occassion (birthdays) but i make up for it in my workouts ... i workout 13days and then take a day off ... some ppl say to do 6 and 1 but for me that would slowly deter me from keeping this up ...

now the hardest thing for me to keep on track will be coming home in a week (b/f) .. roflmao .. but i will have to figure a way to keep my workouts up and or just go for longer walks .. oh well i will figure it out  ... lol ..

thanks for the advice of a digital scale too ...

Glad you are both keeping up with everything ...

Kate ... i was the same way ... but it will come ... (i still have to talk myself into working out daily .. lol .. but when its done .. i feel better for it)

Heather ... i dont know if we can move this ... i think the only way it to start a new thread in the desired spot ...

Cheers ladies!!!

Shawna

Hi,

Thanks for the reply to my post.  I really do need some help with motivation and staying on track.  We started a fitness challange at work where we work in teams of four and log our daily steps.  So far, my team's in third place which isn't too bad!  I tend to overeat so I never have problems getting my caloriesWink

well ya came to the right place if ya need a kick in the pants ... i'm here daily ... pretty much off and on all day ... cool to here about your lil challenge ... it does make it more fun .. lol ... as for the over eating bit .. we have all been there ... but i found with this site that i'm not doing that .. only on special occassion ... definately easier once you see your what u r eating right in front of you, writen out .. to make changes for the better .. well thats what i find .. and easier to make a shopping list too ... lmao ... well cheers to you and welcome to our lil group

shawna

No kidding!  I just posted my foods for the day and got up to just under my target.  I think I'm done for the night.  I'm looking forward to getting to know everybody.

WELCOME Curly~

We're glad you're here!  Congratulations on third place in your workplace challenge!!  Sounds like your group is off to a great start.

Well, I had no problem getting my calories today either -- and then some.  I really, really don't want to log all I ate tonight, I will so be over my goal for the day and the only exercise I got today was 45 minute walking the dog, so I'm guessing about 200 calorie burn.  Ugh.  Knowing you are all here and going through it too, I'm going to honestly log.  In weeks past I would have just started over tomorrow morning, not finished entering today's food items (which is what I have done each weekend since starting this, by the way) but not anymore.

Thanks for being here, being my friends.  You're helping me be accountable -- even if it hurts a little today.  Laughing

Here's to a better tomorrow,

Heather

Curly,

Welcome to our small circle.  It is great to have you here.  If you haven't read all the previous posts in here, I am the one that must brag to keep myself in check.

Heather,

I am glad to see we help keep you honest with your log.  LOL!!  Smile

I actually thought that I had a bad dinner last night but in turned out that I stayed under my daily calorie goal.

Thank you guys very much for letting me post (brag) here.  I have really been helped by knowing I can come see how everyone else is doing.  It is nice to see I am not the only one out there with issues.  Thanks again!!

Have a great day!!

Kate

Hi

I am Sam a 33 going on 34 year old student nurse and mother of 2, a son 11yrs and a daughter 10yrs. I am ex army so used to be very slim and fit. before I settled down and had my kids.

I am so proud to have lost 7lb but as I started my period on Monday night I am finding it hard due to bloating and cravings.

GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hope you all had an excellent night ....

welcome to our group sam ... congrats on joining ... here is where you can brag yourself up, rant your life away, ask for help and ideas ... and just be yourself .. .. which is always a good thing ... lol ...

Heather ... i so know what you mean "i'll start over tomorrow" ... thats why it took me a month and a half to get it right ... now i log everything and pretty much as soon as i am done eating (if possible) ... i may not always like the number it adds up to .. but i have noticed my eating habbits have changed  and now i am actually having to find more stuff to eat to reach my calories ...

Sam,

Welcome, Welcome!!  It is nice to meet you.

All,

I have to rant for a second.  Something was delivered to me today that I totally forgot I ordered.  Four (4) boxes of Girl Scout cookies.  I was just sitting trying to think of what I can cut out of my daily intake to be able to comsume GSC.  Help me!!  LOL!!  Hopefully knowing I will have to list everything I eat will help.  I was also told they freeze well.  Welcome to my freezer GSC!!  So Ha!  Thanks for letting me rant.

Kate
