Hello All!!

I will be on the challenage too.  I might shoot for the 9 day-er.  Smile  Please, don't shoot me if I don't do 9.

Mandy, The rule of thumb is if you eat high fiber and/or high protein you shouldn't feel too hungry.  I do a small breakfast, snack of fruit mid-morning.  I repeat the same all day.  On the weekends I will do a bigger breakfast with fruit snacking too.  I will research more ideas for you.  I get a lot of health type emails.  I will keep my eyes open for you.

Heather, I don't feel like you are being negative or nagging, plus I need that anyway, nagging that is.  Laughing  I worked out last night.  I did 20 mins on my Gazelle, 15 mins abs and arms, and 20 mins yoga.  I even stayed up to watch a little hockey afterwards.  I will be working out again on Thursday night if anyone wants to join me.

Have a great day everyone!!

Kate

I hope the information below helps everyone.  You can also try water or tea to fill the hunger grap.  Both are 0 calories.

I found an article on the Mayo Clinic's website titled Snacks: How they fit into your weight-loss plan.  The link is http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/healthy-diet /HQ01396.

If you type hunger into the search bar at Webmd.com a lot of articles and videos come up.

There is an interesting article on the Ediets website called 8 Ways to Manage Your Hunger!.  The link is http://www.ediets.com/news/NewsArticle.jsp?id =2500026.  There is information on this that I didn't even know.

I can keep looking if you want.  All these website have different very good articles.  I hope this has helped.  Have a great day!!

Kate

shawna

Yea Shawna!!!!

Kate, thanks for the links.  I had not been to ediets before and spent a little time looking around there this afternoon -- it seems like a good resource.

I'm feeling good today because I burned 1100 calories with workouts!!!  woo hoo!!!   (spin class this morning and then weights with trainer tonight)

Cheering for you all!

Good Night,

Heather

Oh! I can't wait to check these out! I really need the help! Do any of ya'll experience MAJOR hunger before and during your menstruel cycle? I am one of those gals and I literally get dizzy and weak and NEED more food. I'm PMS'ing right now so I am curious to see how this goes. Some months aren't near as bad as others but I have taken up the hershey kiss idea to curb cravings. They do the trick. I think I will get dark chocolate next time because it kind of "ups" my fat intake for the day.

Good Morning All,

This morning was weight-in.  Guess what, I lost another 4 lbs.  I am so excited.  I may be lossing too fast but it still feels good.  Maybe it is because I worked out more this week too.  Why am I making excusses for my weight loss?  Weird!!  Surprised

Just a FYI, my Dr. said yesterday that a person only has to cut 500 cals a day to loss 1 lb a week.  Not too bad.

As I promised to you guys.  I did workout 3 times this past week.  To tell you a little more about my loyalty, I worked out last night with arm pain due to a shot I got yesterday.  I worked out because I made that promise.  Thanks guys!!  LOL  Laughing  My arm feels a little better.  Maybe the workout actually helped stretch the muscle out a little.  Today starts my new week.  I hope that this week will be great too.

I hope you are all doing well.  Have a great day and great weekend.

Kate

Wow, Kate, that's fantastic! Sounds like your promise was a good one, huh? Keep it up!

I'm down a pound this week, which I'm excited about b/c it's my tom.

Happy Birthday to me! Now I just gotta not eat tons of food to celebrate!

Love to all!

Corina

Congrats to all you ladies ...

seems like you are all holding strong ... thats awesome .. havent weighed myself lately  .. but my pants are looser ... good sign i think ... this month is really hectic for me .. getting ready to move again and getting ready to head into another long season of construction ... i cant wait to get back to you guys on a daily basis ... it definately helps me ... i am still working out 13-1 and trying to keep my meals to what i have when i am on here but it is hard with the  b/f doing the cooking ... lmao ... no complaints tho .. lol ...

cheers everyone ...

Shawna

Good to have you back, Shawna!

Yay for working out - is everyone staying on track for the challenge? I had a pretty tough weekend what with the birthday celebrations and all (went out with the family Friday and the girls Saturday -worked out both days - had a wicked hangover Sunday-missed my workout), but I managed to get moving today and am determined to work out EVERY day this week.

Glad to hear you are sore, Mandy! :) It's always hard to start something new, but it's worth it to see loose pants, huh, Shawna? Congrats to you both, and here's to the rest of this week being full of success!

Corina

Hi All~

Sorry!  I was so bad this weekend -- didn't log on OR eat right!   Ooooops!  I'm back though!

Welcome back, Shawna!!!! So good to hear from you.  So happy to hear about your tummy looking good.  That's a great feeling.

Way to go with Taebo, Mandy.  When you work out, you REALLY mean work out -- ouch to soreness.

Happy Birthday Corina!!!!!!  (sorry it's a little late)  And congratulations on your loss, a pound is a pound -- that is GREAT!

Kate ~ Woo Hoo FOUR POUNDS is awesome.  I gotta think your three workouts helped.  I think maybe what your doctor is talking about is something I've heard for a couple years and that is that 3500 calories = one pound.  i.e. 500 calorie deficit per day for seven days = one pound a week.

HEY!  Is this Spring Break week?  I'm thinking it is.  I signed up for Mon - Sat.  So today was my day one:  I lifted weights with trainer AND planted my garden / worked in the yard.

Sound off!  What did you do for Spring Break workout challenge??????

Shawna, go back and read up, join us for the challenge of working out every day this week?

(((((((hugs to all)))))))))

Keep up the great work!  You are all strong, beautiful women and you can do this!

Hello All!!  I hope everyone is well.

Corina, Happy, Happy Birthday!!  Great job on your weight loss too.

Shawna, Welcome back.  It is great to hear about the abs.  I hope to be seeing the same thing but I still have a little ways to got.  Embarassed  My pants are looser so that is good.

Mandy, I have Taebo at home but I too am not very coordinated.  I can't do step much either.  I do have fun trying.  I did manage to get a little better at Tai Chi last time I tried it.  You have to really concentrate with that one so you don't hurt yourself.

I have been moving for our spring break challenge.  I haven't been working out per say but moving.  It was so nice all weekend and yesterday, so I did walking outside all three days.  It is colder today so to the gym I go.  I will be back outside tomorrow.  I hope I don't get sick with the weather changing so differently each day.

Have a great day everyone!!

Kate

hey all ...

not so cheery here today ... not really feeling like doing anything ... but i will anyways ...

sorry for this being so short ... maybe i will be more chatty this afternoon

keep your chin up ladies

shawna

Whew! Just got back from my Jazzercise Step class. Man, talk about sore! I thought I was staying in pretty good shape (I used to go to that class twice a week) but, dang! I will go to regular Jazzercise as often as I can this week - the instructors at ours really kick your butt!

Nice work everyone - I see you are all trying to stay moving for our challenge.

Heather - I'm so envious that you've been able to garden . . . I live in Alaska, and we still have tons of snow. The sun is out more now, and it makes me feel like doing more outdoors, but it's still cold and snowy, so . . . I won't be able to dig in the dirt until May - if I'm lucky!

Shawna - Why so glum? I hope everything is okay. I'm proud of you for doing something even when you don't feel like it - that's the hardest for me. I guess we should be saying "chin up" to you! Feel better, babe!

Corina

Corina,

I too used to take Jazzercise.  It is a workout and requires a lot of coordination -- congratulations on doing a step workout.

I'm so proud of my little garden.  I am planting way more this year than I ever have before -- hopefully I'll be sending you some virtual onions soon!  Keep me posted when you get to dig and we'll compare crops.  It was so nice to be able to go outside in DAYLIGHT yesterday after work.  I think I've got Spring fever!

Mandy -- I'm with you on feeling sluggish due to time change.  I don't know why I can't snap out of it -- it's just one hour, right?!?!?!?

Hang in there everyone!

Heather

i'm just bummed from the lil issue the b/f and i were having ... today was a total wash ... sorta anyways ... didnt work out or nothing but didnt really eat either ... i know i know .. not good .. but i will be back to normal tomorrow ... sorry for letting you guys down today ...

cheers

shawna

Shawna, I'm so sorry today was an off day for you.  You're usually such a ball of sunshine, I guess a cloud got in your way today.  You're right -- tomorrow is a new, great day!!!  ((((hugs))))

Hi everyone! I'm Laura, a soon to be (in June) 39 year old mother. I am at 146, 5'2" and want to be in my low 130's by my birthday... I have signed up for a 5k in April.. HA. I can only run a mile on a treadmill, I know it's a lot harder outside. In a nutshell, I have been in the mid 140's forever and REALLY want a change. Please help... I need motivation!

Laura

Welcome to the group Laura!!

We can definitely give you motivation.  We seem to love telling our ups and downs and helping along the way.  I personally have loved all of us chatting.  I have lost 8.5 lbs in the 2+ weeks that we have been chatting.  We currently have a challenge going if you want to join us.  Corina is on spring break this week and we are shooting to workout all the days (9) in spring break.  I think we are on track with it so far.

If you need help, motivation, have questions, anything at all we are all checking in to assist each other throughout the day.

Have a great day!!

Kate
