Looking for Feedback or Advice
Hi there,
I am a 23 year old musician currently weighing in at my all time high of 255 lbs. I have always trended toward being overweight, but four years ago I was at my all time low of 169 lbs. Unfortunately, my life got busier, I met my (now) husband, and my fitness and health fell off track. I joined CC over 2 years ago, and had slight success with weight loss, but I started a new job and the train derailed once again.
I am now trying to make a fresh start. I started logging my calories again this weekend, and I've been exercising with regularity since August. My frustration is that so far (since beginning my exercise regimen) I have not had any weight loss. In logging my calories again recently, I have discovered a lot of hidden calories that I didn't realize I was eating, and I am beginning to understand why the weight wasn't coming off, so now I'm ready to change those things.
My question for you guys is: What would be a good first goal? My end goal is to lose 95 lbs within a year or so. I don't have any hard and fast deadline, but my husband and I are looking to start a family in the next couple of years and I need my body to be ready for it. To give you a little more information, I am walking/jogging 30 minutes every day, and once a week I do 100 crunches, lift weights, and do 40 leg lifts. I build and maintain muscle very easily, and enjoy exercising, most of the time. On average I eat between 1600 and 1800 calories a day, and I list myself as lightly active, so I have been running a deficit.
Any advice or comments are welcome. I'm just trying to set realistic goals for myself so I don't get discouraged early on. Thanks!
