What have you had that you were looking forward to, but wasn't worth it?
What have you had you were disappointed in?
Reason: Released as sticky
Coke and other soft drinks. I can have a sip or two of "liquid candy," but a 12-oz can is too much, too sweet and gassy. Guess it's good to lose my taste for it.
But beer tastes as good as ever...don't think I'll ever lose my taste for that. : )
In june my son wanted to have mcdonald's for his birthday lunch. We used to go there all the time but haven't been going since January. I decided since it was his birthday and mine was 2 days later that i'd have a double cheeseburger and a small fry. Well, needless to say, THAT was 710 calories and 36 grams of fat of my life i'll never get back lol. It didn't taste nearly as good as i remember and I was in the bathroom all night. Apparently my body doesn't process all that fat like it used to!
OMG, I totally understand you. I treated myself to a Tim Horton's donut and English Toffee cappucino, which use to be my FAVORITE! I'd go there allllll the time. But when I got it last, I hated it... I wasted calories, and burnt my tongue. UGHH!
Honestly? One thing that springs to mind is lentils. After I was diagnosed with iron-deficiency anemia my friend began raving about how nice lentils are, and full of iron, how I should try some and lalala. So, I whip up a lentil stew.
And it was gross. Dx Oh well.
nachos. i used to love them, but i just don't enjoy them anymore (though i'd eat guacamole with a spoon).
Uh, so many things! I've been kicking my ED's ass lately and trying loads of things that I've wanted for ages but been too scared to have. So far I've had:
Walkers Sensations crisps, Mars bar, Double Decker, 3 different types of Dairy Milk, Picnic, Crunchie, a crepe, Nobbly Bobbly ice cream, Mc Coys, spagetti, chocolate cake, varies pastries, rice pudding and my all time ultimate indulgence - deep fried pizza.
They all still tasted fab, especially the deep fried pizza, but they weren't as mind-blowingly amazing as I remember.
However I have developed a new love of white Magnums that I never had before!
Had a blended root beer float from Sonic a few weeks ago... bleargh. 375 calories I couldn't bring myself to finish. Tossed it in the trash!
Cheese enchilada combo platters. In the olden days, I used to love these gut sinkers and the last time I had them I felt like I'd swallowed rocks. Urgh.
I used to be a big Taco Bell junky. Two Double Decker Tacos, one steak taquito, one bean burrito, and an extra-large pepsi were staples of my diet. I hadn't been to Taco Bell in three months, but last Saturday I had this crazy craving sneak up on me.
I go there, order my usual meal, and begin to eat my first Double Decker. As I'm tasting it, I know it tasted like Taco Bell. It tasted like a Double Decker. It even tasted like a good Double Decker. It didn't taste good, though. I finished the Double Deckers and threw the rest away since I was full. I don't think I'll be going back to Taco Bell anytime soon.
This will sound gross to most, but I am a fat craver not so much sweets. Not deep fried stuff actual fat. Like the thin strip of fat on the side of a steak. After three weeks of not having any I cooked one the other night. Don't get me wrong loved every bite going down, but about an hour later my stomach hurt preaty bad.
The chocolate muffins have been tempting me for the last couple of days - they sit right next to the kettle and i see them every time i go into the kitchen. This morning i gave in and had one - 350 calories; blew my deficit for the day and it wasn't that great.
I'm ready for a Ben and Jerry's pint. Cookie dough, chunky monkey, cherry garcia, friggin-A...maybe after my next hike

Now that's something I don't think I'll EVER lose the taste for!!! PHISH FOOD!
I've been tempted to try their yogurt version - does anyone know if it's almost as good?
I haven't had bacon or even pig at all in about a year. On Monday I had a BLT, because my mother insisted, and all the next day I felt like hell.
Well, I got there and found them, and they were SO TINY and expensive..especially for their size. I didn't buy one because I just didn't see how one of those itty bitty bars could be satisfying or worth the money. I was so disappointed =(
My most recent Fitness magazine had a recipe for Avocado Enchiladas which sounded amazing. I love avocados so I was really looking forward to these. I spent 3 hours preparing and assembling all the ingredients. The recipe said it would only take 20 minutes! They turned out okay but that much avocado really was too much. The recipe is for 10 servings and I'm the only one who likes them. I'll be eating these for a long time but making them never again.
m+m's. i know, tragic. i hadn't had any in like a millenium; i'd been basking in the nutritional nirvana of whole fruits, veggies, and fish. so one day i'm jonesin' for some chocolate, and i decide to get a bag of dark chocolate m+m's. so's i pop a couple in my mouth, and all i can taste is food coloring, especially blue. blech! since when did m+m's taste like a science experiment? they sucked, but i'm glad to find out that my taste buds acclimated to real food so quickly.
btw, i still finished off the m+m's.
back when i was in the restriction phase of my ED, all i looked forward to was being thinner than everyone else and being thin, but once it came.. i still cried at the sight of my body, even at 5'2" and 107 lbs.
Why am I so thirsty all of the time?
Severe thirst is a symptom of a several medical conditions including diabetes, pituitary gland problems, and diseases associated with the loss of fluid... Read more
