Looking for friends
Mostly it's because I am not sure how to add friends.
I have 95 pounds to lose, am 49 years old, 5'5" and looking for friends with things in common (most importantly weight loss)
I have posted a profile if you'd like to take a look.
Thank you
Barb
I for sure would like to be your friend. We have a lot in common. I also quit smoking and gained 50 pounds. I now am working on getting rid of it, so welcome to the club!
I'm glad I gave up the smoking (after 40 years), but I could do without the weight. I am older than you, be 62 in December, and losing weight at this age is tough, but I am determined.
I have lost 8 pounds since July and my doctor says that is a good rate. I work out at Curves at least 3 times a week. I don't have a real problem with the calorie limits, just wish I could get back to a size 12 sooner. I am 5'8" and wore a 12 most all my life until this.
Oh well, we'll keep each other encouraged. Good to meet you!

Hey Barb -- welcome. To add people as friends, simply click on their name and their profile will come up -- on the right, just above the box it says "add buddy" click that box and that person will be added to your friends list.
If someone has already add you to their friends list, you just click on their name in your profile (down towards the bottom) -- their profile will come up, click the "add buddy" and you are all set.
I'm 46 and have only been on the site for less than a month, however it has been positive experience -- came on with 62 to lose and I'm on my way. You'll find lots of support here if you want, or you can simply use the tools to keep track of your journey.
good luck!
Kay
coach_k---I'm also new, 38 yrs old & new to this site, like you I need to lose 60 lbs., have lost 3-4 lbs the first week just with the changes- eating healthy, keeping track, etc. Good luck.
Hi, Barb, I'd love to be your friend! I've added you, so you can add me, too. I am 47 lbs away from my first goal, which I hope to meet by my birthday (April 7), but after that there will probably be another 20 to go.
I'm tired of waking up with tingling and numbness in my hands and arms, and I used to enjoy walking (now it's more a chore than a joy); I'm determined this time, sounds like you are too. I hope we can help each other stay motivated!
I have that same problem Barb! I'm 23 and newly married. I just had two foot surgeries so I can't really exercise the way I want yet (running or long walks). I have two step-sons that I would love to go play on the playground with, but my foot swells beyond belief. I'm also a student teacher that is about to graduate and am moving all day, I would like to start to loose this weight before I begin teaching my own class. So far I am down a few pounds. I placed myself on a 1437 calorie diet with a goal of loosing all of the weight by December 4, 2008. If you would like to take a look at my profile and add me to your friends list I would be more than happy to become your friend.

Thanks boombabies -- luck to you, also!
Meggypoo628 -- it would be helpful if you filled out a profile and let people know a little about you
I've added you as my friend. I am 48 and need to lose 45 lbs. I just started on this website and with my new eating and lifestyle choices about 3 weeks ago. So far it has worked great, losing on average 2 lbs a week. I've been steadily gaining for so long that this is a WONDERFUL surprise for me. I was a size 6 in my 20's, size 8 for my 30's and then when I got around 42 the weight started coming on until I was a size 16. I'm 5'3" and was 170 lbs. I'm fitting into a size 14 now!! I hope I can help encourage you, and you and everyone else can keep encouraging me. Reading and answering posts about people going through same things has been a great help to me to keep motivated.

I am working towards losing weight in time for my knee surgery (expected next month!). Two years ago, I injured myself playing softball. This curtailed my activity for quite sometime and I allowed the pounds to pack on. I was my heaviest I had ever been at 223 pounds in December. I managed to get myself to 200 by the time I started here and have lost another 15 pounds! I am at a bit of a plateau now, but the motivation I have been getting on this site has been great. I have 20 pounds to go for my happy weight and 40 for my BMI/doctor recommended weight.
My greatest challenge will be to keep the weight off while I am recovering from surgery!
I'm 30, 5'8". I have just gone over and added you to my friends. Good luck and keep us updated! :)
Hi Barb,
Im new to this site too. I'll be 34 this weekend (unfortunately....whatever happened to 25?), I am 5'4", I am currently 218.5 pounds (have lost 14 so far) and have 88 to go with a goal of 130 by next summer. I am hoping to do something I havent done since high school/pre-motherhood.....get back into a bikini. I work out at Shapes (just like Curves but privately owned) 6 days a week. I have gained 50 pounds since I got married in November 06, I believe that most of it is from quitting smoking (Thurs will be 9 month anniv from my quit date!), having surgery, multiple miscarraiges, and an inability to walk independently(numbness/weakness of leg). I am an RN but unable to work because of this and teach religious education to 8th graders once a week. I have no friends on here yet and could use some for motivational purposes and the reciprocal, but not sure how to add friends here.
