looking for friends in their 30s-40s, no children, who need to lose 30-40lbs (15-18kgs)
Hi,
I'm 33, female, married, 2 cats, schoolteacher (12-17 yr olds), 83kgs, 166cm (5'5), live in Denmark. I'd like to lose 30-40lbs. I am an emotional eater/binger. I'm looking for some friends with similar circumstances/goals, so we can motivate each other, give each other food tips, etc?
I'm 45, female, live in boyfriend, data analyst, 5'1 and weigh 159 pounds. I too am an emotional eater. I am in a challenge but am looking for people to help with motivation and share ideas. So I am interested. Are you using the food and activity log?
I work out about 5 times a week and recently went under 160 pounds. Hooray. I am trying to lower my BMI to 22 and get to 125 pounds. I am getting good information from this site.
Love to write more.

I'm 33, female, with 2 cats. I work in schools with special needs students. I'm looking to lose A LOT (approx 60 lbs). Eating/cooking has always been something to do. I've been using CC for nearly a week and tagging foods or putting together meals has been an interesting replacement.
I don't exercise nearly enough, but I've been trying to get some additional activity in my daily routine. I look forward to providing support and hearing how others are doing in achieving their goals.
Good luck!!

Thanks for the responses! I've added you as friends. I am using the food and activity log--are we able to see each other's?
As far as I know, the food and activity logs cannot be viewed by friends. I may start posting my food and activity log as a journal entry. That way I'm welcome to constructive feedback.
I haven't done 2 well these past 2 days, but hope to get back on track tomorrow. ![]()

Good idea about the journal. Good luck getting back on track!
Hello,
I'm 34, female, no pets, single, case manager, 5'2, 190 lbs and need to lose 40+ lbs. I am also an emotional eater, carb addict . . . I am so struggling to lose weight, doesn't help when i'm upset, I go straight to the carbs (cakes, chocolate, etc) and can't seem to stay away from all that junk.
I hate it when i feel that the easiest quick meals out there are all carb related . . . once i have it, gotta keep having it.
need help, any feedback is welcomed.
Thank you
So how was everybody's day. I did not complete any exercise or track any food. I am drinking a glass of wine and had a bag of peanut m&m's. I possibly consumed 1500 calories if I complete the log.
Tomorrow will be a better day.
Torbelly, I tried to look at your food and activity log to no avail. I did notice you placed your food in your journal. How? I didn't see any physical activity. Did I miss it?
What is everyone's plans for tomorrow? I plan to write my calorie intake and stay in my calorie range of 1200. I also plan to get a 5 mile run. Who knows, maybe I will see some CC customers out on the track.
Whatever you do, make it a good day![]()
Hey Browneyes,
I can't help you much: I am in much of the same predicament. One day at a time works for me. I didn't realize how many carbs I was taking in until I realized how many how I should consume. I'm on a daily basis, consuming 20g more than I should. I say this to say, you can consume carbs but in moderation.
Since I have found this number (which is probably obvious to most) I have cut back on my intake and have lost over 20 pounds. I also keep my toothbrush handy. Anyway, we are all in this together so hang in there with us. We can do this. Right torbelly?
I'm back on track!!! The last few days have been a nightmare of chips and pringles. :( My sister is getting married in 6 weeks, and I'm FINALLY fully committed to healthy eating.
free_style: Are you referring to carbs in general? I've tried cutting back on processed carbs (last 2 days excluded) and haven't noticed much of a difference.
I've been doing CC+ halfheartedly for a week now, and I've lost only 1 lb. Better than nothing though.
Hi, I'm Melanie! I just joined today...I'm 36, no kids, just a dog and me. I'm 5'4" and weigh about 155, I've lost 8 pounds in the last 2 weeks and would like to get down to about 130! I did my food log today and I'm just under 1000 calories for the day. For the past two weeks I've cut out all sodas, processed carbs for the most part and have increased my protein intake. I drink about 32 to 40+oz. of water a day. My job is pretty passive, chained to a desk, so it's a tough go when I'm in the office. It's rough but getting easier. I need to add more activities to move my butt...I went on a 2 hour hike yesterday, I prefer being outdoors this time of year rather than in the gym.
This site says I should be on about 1600 calories a day but that seems really high. I rated an A for my nutrition today even though I haven't hit their target calorie intake and I don't think I will, I'm content and not hungry and it's close to 8pm so I'm done eating for the day.
This is the big thing that has helped me in the morning: Low Fat Yorgurt Smoothies for breakfast...with some sort of fresh fruit...I'm under 175 calories in the morning with it, but it's been satisfying and tastes so good that it's hard to believe it's low calorie...here's what I put in it...any flavor Yoplait Low Fat Yogurt (my favorite is Peach right now), 2 strawberries, 1/4 banana, crushed ice, and about 1/4 cup Crystal Light Sugar Free Raspberry Lemonade (yum!) or fresh brewed unsweetened iced tea, I blend it all up and enjoy it on my way to work in the morning...the more ice you put in it the thicker it will be without adding any calories and you get to enjoy it longer! I've done this every morning for the past 2 weeks and it's great. The other thing is, I've kinda fallen in love with Slim Fast French Vanilla, the High Protein kind. I know I know, sounds less than tasty but it's gotten better! When blended with Skim Milk it's only 200 calories, fills you up and keeps the hunger pangs away for a good 3 to 4 hours. I'm trying to snack (in small quantities) during the day, fresh fruits, nuts, and LOW CALORIE protein bars...and Crystal Light On the Go packs to add to my water bottles when I need a little flavor, it's almost like tricking my body into thinking I'm have something sweet and naughty!
I don't mean to go on and on, but I'm really excited about the 8 pounds these past couple 2 weeks and wanted to share what has been working for me...if you want to add me as a friend, then let's do this!
31, soon 32. 245 pounds and want to lose 30ish pounds before deciding how much/if I want to lose more.
Live with one of my buds from high school and we both have a dog.
I've recently started hitting the gym and trying to average 4 or 5 times per week.
Use the elliptical for 30 mins to an hour depending on how hard I push myself and how motivated I am for the day.
Two months ago I finally hit 249 and stayed there for like a month, then decided I needed to do something more to push the weight loss. Unofficially i'm down to around 243, 244.... Tomorrow I find out for sure as I have my first meeting with a personal trainer and I'll use those meetings as my official weigh ins.
