5'3 115 looking to lose 5 lbs and tone up, anyone similar want to be my buddy??
Hey everyone, I am looking for a motivation buddy! I'm 23, I want to lose about 5 pounds and tone up my body to get in a bikini next month. I go to the gym everyday to do cardio, and 3 times a week for weights.. I still see no difference in my body and want someone to share their eating and exercise plans so we can get in shape together!! Who's with me?!
Hi, I'm 21 also 5'3 a started counting my calories about a month ago and started at a weight of 113lbs and now I'm at 105.8 lbs (so the scale says, as of this morning.) I don't really know a lot about training, I run every night for about 30 min and I do streches and crunches after my run. Even tho I am not planning on losing anymore weight I could use some adivse on how to train to maintin my weight around 105-110 lbs.
Yay I'm so glad you responded! Do you belong to a gym? I had no idea how to do weights, so I go to a class at my gym 3 time a week and it's basically just lifting weights for all different muscle groups. I have realized I am not strong at all, so I usually get a bar and put 5 pounds on each side.
Since you have been counting calories what is your daily amount? The only cardio I do at the gym is the elliptical, and I feel like it does nothing.. I guess I should try running, I just hate it :(. I am trying to fix my diet, since I haven't seen any results yet.. any advice on what to eat?
I weighed myself this morning and it was 112. Before I went to college I was 105, so I really want to get back to that, and not look gross in my swimsuit!!
Hi,
No I don't belong to a gym, I am actually looking into it tho. It would be really nice to go to classes where they tell you how to do things the proper way. I am not strong either... I pretty much concider myself a wimp! lol I just bought gloves that has weights in them, for running, they are 2 lbs each and when I am done my run my arms are absolutly dead!! I guess it's normal, as it's the only exercice my arms ever get. lol
I am sure you could do some other kind of cardio exercice that would give you a good workout and that you would like. I heard that spinning classes are really fun and they give you a real good work out. Do they have spinning classes at your gym?
When I did my BMI thing, it told me to eat 1400 daily. So far so good. I try to eat most of my calories during the day.
First thing I do when I get up, I drink a cup of hot water with a couple drops of pure lemon juice in it. (It is good to detox your liver and kidneys) then I jump in the shower and then I eat breakfast.
For breakfast I would eat: A grapefruit (I eat 1 grapefruit every morning ( I love them, and I guess they are good for weight lost) then I have 1/2 cup of no fat cottage cheese with a yogurt and a banana or some mornings I have my regular grapefruit, 1/2 cup of oatmeal with berries, a yogurt and a banana.
I get a break around 10 am everyday at work, so I normally eat a little snack then, to hold me off until lunch time. I normally have an apple. Sometimes I'll have an orange or a pear instead.
For lunch I usually eat a salad (which I try to include as many vegetables in as possible; spinach, brocoli, cauliflower, carrots, cucumbers, green peppers, yellow peppers, red peppers, orange peppers, onions) Some days I Add chicken to my salad (if I know that I won't have meat for supper). I also use oil base salad dressings, like vinaigrettes, I usually use the organic italian dressing.
My second break of the day is at 3 so I normally have a little snack then too. I have an other fruit then.
For supper it's a little harder, I live with other people and when we cook supper is for the whole group, and they don't really watch their calorie inteak. But they are actually pretty good at eating healthy tho. We sometimes make veggie pita pizza, or stir fry. But most of the time we cook meat and vegetables (like beans, bruslesprout, brocoli & coliflower).
About and hour after I ate, I go for my run.
Depending on how many calories I have left in the evening, I eat a little snack, normally an other fruit of some kind, I try to eat more like melons (you probably think that I am a freak at this point eating all kinds of fruit, I just love them and they make me feel full.)
I hope this help. What do you normally eat?
Hey,
If you haven't reached your goal yet, I am in the exact same position as you! I have been losing weight steadily for a while and went from 137lbs and a size 6 to 115lbs and a size 2.. I am reasonably comfortable with my current weight, but I think that I would feel my best at 110lbs.
I reached a sort of weight-loss plateau recently and my scale said 114lbs for the first time ever today :)
I want to be able to live in my bikini! I am an island girl and probably the only self-conscious one I know, so my plan is to remedy that asap!
I am a vegetarian with vegan tendencies so I eat a lot of vegetables and dried/fresh fruits and soy milk and cheese. I love Alpen granola bars - the Light 70 cal ones are great for snacking! Sushi is my favourite thing to eat out because the portions are always perfect. I only drink water and tea really... unless juice is fresh and homemade it just tastes gross to me.
My guilty pleasures include croutons and those synder pretzel bits... they sit in my cupboard and plot ways to make me gain weight, I just know it...
I totally understand what you mean about not seeing a change in your body even with constant exercise.. I run a mile everyday, sometimes carrying weights, and I go on my eliptical machine regularly but my inner thighs seem destined to be permanently flabby and my arms refuse to look defined even though they are almost all muscle :(
So, if you haven't reached your goal yet, are you still looking for a motivation buddy? Because I could totally use one right now!!
Hey! This is one of the first groups I've ever seen that seems to apply to me!
I'm 22, 5'4", and my weight varies from 110-114 on any given day. I have trouble maintaining my weight between 108-110, but I'm mostly looking to shape up and tone!
I do some resistance type stuff, and incorporate a stability ball every now and then. I also try and get some cardio in there by using my elliptical. I struggle with sticking to a routine, but starting Sunday I decided I'm really going to figure something out!
This exactly describes me too! I am 15 years old, 5'3, anywhere from 113-115, and really want to get down to 107 lbs, and then reassess.
I run and swim competitively so that is the majority of the exercise I do, although I DO lift weights or do ab-work at least twice a week.
To go off finalstretch's example, my guilty pleasure is probably any chocolate and bread. Once I get started eating even just one piece, it's like a domino effect--before I know it, I will have eaten the entire bar/loaf/etc.
And like jblarghp, I too struggle with sticking to a routine when I don't have practice--I find myself being sometimes lazy, othertimes wasting time and procrastinating, so on and so forth.
Hope this question still applies, and even if it doesn't finalstretch and jblarghp (as the most current) as well as other people, I would love to maybe buddy up with you too?
