Heres what I want to do, I am using the mayo to coat potato wedges so that crumbs will stick to it. Then bake the potato wedges in the oven.
I was thinking maybe plain yogurt would work, but I'm not sure how that would taste.
Any advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions!
I like Hellman's Light Mayonnaise. It's only 45 calories a tablespoon and you can't tell the difference.
My little mayo tricks are to add a teaspoon of fresh squeezed lemon juice to each tablespoon of mayo, and to use less than I did before.
Another substitute is Dijonnaise. It's a very light mixture of dijon mustard and mayonnaise, only 5 caloriesin a teaspoon.
Mayo is egg & oil, so you could make your own (or aioli w/ garlic) or try just using oil and an egg or egg white. I don't think plain yogurt would coat & stick well like oil or egg does.
I don't like Mayo, I use Grapeseed oil Veganaise

It's oil based but sans egg.
Good luck! Crunchy potato sounds yummy, let us know what works!
much less fat and calories.

MIRACLE WHIP!!!!! Amazing! And better for you than Mayo.. but same taste...
I'm a Miracle Whip fan too. I in fact find it tastes better than conventional mayo. The fat free-kind that I use is I think 10 or 15 cals per TBSP instead of the usual 40 in the regular stuff. I can't tell the difference between the fat-free and regular whatsoever.

I can understand people liking M Whip, but dont tell me it tastes like mayo! its sweet! it doesnt taste anything like mayo.
I like it in small doses, but I once tried making tuna salad with it and almost gagged!

Yeah, this. My hubby won't eat mayo, but loves miracle whip. Instead of buying both, I just convinced myself to like miracle whip, but it has to be very thinly spread on something else :)
At any rate, it's significantly fewer calories than mayonnaise, and would probably be a tasty alternative on your potato wedges.
I also am a big fan of Miracle Whip Free
-That' all I use anymore
I just bought some Kraft Mayo made with Olive Oil. I can't remember the stats exactly, but 2 tbsp was about 50 cal and 4.5 g fat. And the taste is great, exactly like the full fat kind, but with no cholesterol or saturated fat. I can't stand no fat mayo.
Potato wedges coated little olive oil and herbs, then roasted in the oven, sans crumbs, would certainly be better for you. :)
Or coated with some dijon mustard thinned with a little olive oil.
Vegenaise all the way! It's the only egg-free alternative I could find that I liked at all and I am a MAYO FIEND!! Still lots of fat, but the good kind.
