Hey guys!
I'm 21 and currently weigh 190 Ibs! It's a scary thought seeing as I'm only 5'1 and I used to weight 130. Before college I was very athletic. I was a dancer for 16 years and would play tennis regularly. Once I left home to go to college everything just stopped. I didn't have time for anything! I'm a pre-med student so most of my time was spent studying and eating, hence the massive weight gain. However, I'm tired of making excuses and the insecurity. I want to be healthier and feel comfortable in my own skin, but I know that I may not be able to do it on my own. I am looking for someone to be my motivational buddy! Since it's summer, I promised myself I would exercise and so far I have! I have been attending Zumba classes and I can't get enough! Its so much fun and I can feel my entire body getting a full blown workout.
If you are interested, just let me know! Good luck on your weight loss journey!
I used to do zumba too when I belonged to a gym. I loved doing it...even though it kicked my butt everytime
! It's great that you've decided to take your life back and start living a healthier lifestyle. I've found that the hardest part of weight loss are the mental challenges. Forcing yourself to get up early to workout or passing up on the donuts/cakes/cookies etc... I started changing my eating habits and working out regularly about 8 weeks ago and I've already lost 17lbs! I'm 5'7 and currently 229lbs. My goal is to at least get down to 160. I've really found that calorie count has helped me be accountable for what I do and eat. Plus, it's a great support system. Everyone I've met on here so far has been really nice and supportive which has really helped me to continue reaching my goal. I wish you the best of luck! Keep in touch and let me know how your progress is going.
Hey llpena4,
I'm 22 and just graduated from college (Yay! \0/) and I will be starting graduate school in the fall. I gained over 50 pounds while I was in college. I started out at 145 (I'm only 5'3 but I have a big frame so 145 was super healthy for me) but by senior year I was 205! ugh. I'm a straight A student, but obviously all of my study snacks (not to mention the food served in the dining hall!) wasn't so great for me!
I would be happy to be your buddy for this summer, if you would like. :) I am hoping to lose as much weight as I can (while keeping at a healthy weight-loss of 2-3 pounds a week) over the summer to have a fresh start for grad school. :)
Please, send me a private message if you would like to be buddies. :)
PS I just got a membership at my local Y and they have a zumba class, what is it?
