Looking for a mutual commitment / support buddy

Quote  |  Reply

Anyone looking for a mutual commitment / progress tracking buddy?

I've decided that going it alone isn't working consistently enough.  Some weeks I'm successful, others not so much.

Others have said that establishing a support group who they have to "own up to" and can mutually encourage has helped.  Makese sense to me.

I'm thinking of commiting to regular journal postings on progress, successes, & challenges.  We'll commit to checking on others journals and commenting.  Regular encouragement.  Some challenges.

I am committed to losing at least 40 lbs by Sept 30, getting down to under 230.  I am focused on regular excercise and eating a reasonable healthy diet around 2000-2200 calories, with exercise taking my daily burn up to 3000+

Send a message or post a reply if interested.

Hey dale,

I'm interested in helping you out. i think it will be a good help for myself as well. Let me know how you've been doing as I see you posted this more than a month ago.

I am pretty new on CC, I am going from 265 down to 200 by July 2010.  I also got sucked in on the acai berry thing, so I will let you guys know how it goes.  How do we get  a group started?

Jim

jhawkinson, I started a group, you can find the page here:

and should be able to join. Let me know if you have any trouble.

I've never really bought much into the hyped up foods like acai, flax, etc. I know they have many health benefits but I just don't see weight loss as a major one.

Recently I found Dr. Steven Pratt's guide to food called "Superfoods Rx: Fourteen Foods That Will Change Your Life." I highly recommend looking into it. All of the foods listed are normal, everyday foods. It is the guide to diet I will be using for my weight loss journey.
