Looking for people that are not easily offended to talk fitness.

Quote  |  Reply

I am crass, tactless, completely insensitive, and find myself constantly insulting people without intention. Therefore, I would like to start a group for people like me, if there are any, who can help motivate/ get motivated without getting angry when I say something completely inappropriate. I promise to conform to the basic guidelines as set out by our wonderful mediators, but I can't promise I won't encourage discussions about sex, politics, and any other such drama-starters.

In short, I know that somewhere, over the rainbow, poorly motivated sarcastic wiseguys like myself are looking for a kick in the pants, and I'm here for you friends. Let me kick you in the pants. (Metaphorically of course)

I'd like to join.  I can do sarcasm, but I am more crabby (okay, just plain b*tchy) than sarcastic.  Does that work?

m_c, I have turned myself into a runner over the past several months.  I'm using the Couch-to-5K program.  I'm nursing a severely sprained ankle at the moment, but I was up to a 30 min. run, non-stop before the injury.  It's probably not pretty when I'm running, but I don't give a rip what the people behind me think.  Oh, and I grunt when I lift weights too.  I know people get kind of pissy about that type of thing, but it's heavy dammit and I need to make a little noise.

And was123, pita is better because it is cool, new, and yuppie.  Geez, don't you know anything?  Wink

I agree they're cool (and I'll add tasty), but I think they've been around for years.  And I had no idea I was a yuppie - wait - (Young Urban Professional) - heh, I guess I am.  But I'm pretty sure that's independent of my fondness for pitas. Wink

Bahahaha. That's awesome. I don't grunt, and up until three months ago or so, I didn't sweat in public. Ah how that has changed. I have read the couch to 5k program and find it interesting, but I'm taking REALLY baby steps.

It's not people behind me that I'm worried about when I run, it's the girls. They always seem to want to go in different directions. I think it's their way of saying, "Why are you doing this to yourself? Let's go home to our niiice comfy recliner, kick back, and eat a whole tub of ice cream."

DD = difficulty running = two bra minimum.

feel free to kick me in the big pants any time! I have too many opinions for most people to handle so you and I may just be soul mates! ;)

I also wear 2 bras when I work out otherwise I'd have black eyes

Also, sweating, grunting, jiggling and sometimes farting are all part of achieving that healthy lifestyle and rock hard booty-so I stick my nose up way in the air when I'm at the gym, and I strut like I own the place!

Ha!  I wear three layers to make sure the girls are well contained.  Although, after having nursed for a year and having lost nearly 60 lbs., they aren't what they used to be <sigh>.  Anyway, I found bras from Champion (they're called Power-something) that don't allow very much movement.  Add to that a fitted tank with a shelf bra and then a regular cotton tank top and nothing would dare move.

I hereby declare that I sweat like a man and I love it.  If I am not dripping at the end of my workout, I didn't work hard enough!

Try some Thomas' Multi Grain Light English Muffins. They're the perfect size for a sammich, and only have 100 calories and 8 grams of fiber. They have to be the light ones, the regular is a lot higher in calories. Ooooohhh...and some cream cheese, don't forget that!

Regular English Muffins only have 120 calories. I really don't see much difference between the two in that two - a least not enough to say it's a lot higher. Although they have FAR less fiber.

But I don't cut out bread. I just buy whole wheat. At least, for sandwichs. I won't nosh a bunch at an Italian restaurant, though!

My best friend and I have begun loggin a daily food diary and sharing, we email each other about every other day with them...this works because a) no one else really cares and b) i can tell her anything and not feel ashamed! it has really helped me beat cravings when I know I have to log it in.

love boobs but have nun myself, run without a bra at all.

feel bad for you guys  :(

sandwiches are over rated in my opinion, but I do love to use lettuce as a wrapper instead of bread, it is more refreshing. also, i find melba toast to be very delish and filling for little tapas style sandwiches. once you give up starch for like, 3 weeks, you beat the drop in energy, just make sure ot have plenty of complex carbs such as alternative grains and fiberous veggies. love to cook, am vegetarian, and have tons of recipies if anyone has a request.

Count me in!!! I myself can be sarcastic and am not easily offended. I am close to my GW and need a big kick in the pants because I am starting to get comfortable again and slipping up on my intakes and exercise!!

As for the bread thing..if you can find it by you Arnold's makes a flatbread. 100 calories high fiber low in fat..so YUMMY! I love me a good sandwich..lol.

Running and boobs...I went to the gym today and jumped on the treadmill and had only one of those tanks with a shelf bra in it..thought I'd be okay since I lost most of my weight in my chest..thought wrong!! I postioned myself on the stairmaster instead ..as it was in the back of the gym..HAHA.

Hello to all of you! It's so nice to meet real people with real tolerance levels! I find tip-toeing through the bloody tulips to be a colossal waste of time. I'm a fat chick trying to fight the urge to stuff my face and sit on my ass all day. There's going to be times that I get a little testy,  and I need people to either ignore my attitude or tell me to f off. We can do it! And anyone who says otherwise is a total idiot and can bugger off!

I would love to join. I have a tendancy to turn off my brain to mouth filter when it comes to certain things and i dont get offended by anything. I'm that person that offers nor excuses and doesnt want any in turn.

Here here or pip pip or...whatever.

If anyone should have a tough facade, it's fat people.  I used to get all quaky when people would shout out rude comments or make crappy remarks but now I just don't care.  I usually have a smart-ass response for them.  If people want to be all judgy, they can kiss my getting-very-tight-from-weight-training-and-r unning butt!

I mean that in the most PC way possible of course.  :o)

did someone say 'sex'! well then count me in. ive occasionally had a couple of people 'comment' when i mention that subject. we all do it or have done it with others & ourselves, why hide it. its healthy  & isn't that what this site is all about, health?

Me too, and in MHO, I feel like I'm old enough (47) to know how much is too much without being slapped on the wrist like a naughty school girl....Hope that naughty school girl didn't turn anyone on. *giggles*

This thread makes me happy.

Count me in, but expect me to ask some seriously legit questions.

Like...  If a tree fell down on the moon, but nobody's there to see it, does it still float away?

But in all seriousness, I like this thread.  Talking about asses and waffles (yay for that sandwich substitute).  And SEX!  I'm deprived.

why do people get so uptight about sex?! i mean it's fun and you burn calories while doing it. and like rnjt said everyone has done in one way or another.

WOOHOO!!!  Sarcasm and *itchiness is allowed!!  Count me in!  I all up for people who don't get their feelings hurt!

BTW... Pita's HAVE been around for a long time, its just that suddenly they are the "it" food.  My mom was making sandwiches with them when I was young, in the 70's.  Personally, I like them, but I also like a smaller and lighter sandwich, so it works.  For some reason, bread seems really gummy to me now.

Count me in!!

OMG...anyone look up sex for a calorie burn..it is logged as like 50 calories for 45 minutes..I think....LOL

caloriesperhour.com says 82 calories for 45 minutes of vigorous sexual activity (at 160 lbs).

i feel the same way. that's one of the things i look forward, sweating out all the tension & stress from the day.

but there's grunting & then there's grunting. in one gym all the guys would try to out grunt each other so bad that it sounded like some male-gay-orgy porno. i wonder what they would've said to me if i asked them if they were rehearsing for 'Denis does all of Dallas'?
