Looking for people that are not easily offended to talk fitness.

I am crass, tactless, completely insensitive, and find myself constantly insulting people without intention. Therefore, I would like to start a group for people like me, if there are any, who can help motivate/ get motivated without getting angry when I say something completely inappropriate. I promise to conform to the basic guidelines as set out by our wonderful mediators, but I can't promise I won't encourage discussions about sex, politics, and any other such drama-starters.

In short, I know that somewhere, over the rainbow, poorly motivated sarcastic wiseguys like myself are looking for a kick in the pants, and I'm here for you friends. Let me kick you in the pants. (Metaphorically of course)

ok sorry folks but i've had to go offline sort of for awhile. getting ready to get married, leaving for NY on fri then vegas, the san fran then hawaii for a whole MONTH. so this'll be my last post for awhile unless i get some time while im away. ill try to keep in touch (unlike mc!) in the mean while. lots of food, drink & other things to get through this next month.

anyway dont know whats up with my wedding party, but they've all had to go into the hospital for one reason or another. first my mother cuz her heart felt funny, then my uncle who had a blood clot reach his lung, then my dad had a stroke now my friend has to go get a procedure done. looks like i'll have to hire a nurse to be on hand for my wedding.

CONGRATS apr's & jef's. ann's i saw those magnificent trees many many moons ago.

xoxoxoxo y'all

Yikes, talk about stress.

Congrats on getting married and I hope all the icky stuff gets over with now so you can have a terrific time!

Happy travels!!!!

We'll miss ya!

Ann

Well since it is October and approaching Halloween I will claim I am back from the dead zombie style.

Work has been hectic hectic and stressful stressful and I haven't been on CC much at all.

BIG NEWS: I REACHED MY GOAL WEIGHT LAST WEEK!!!!!

secondary news: I've surpassed it now by 0.6lbs! I'm aiming now for another 5lbs of weight loss for vanity sake. That will give me my 'zone' for maintenance.

(hope this isn't too late) have a wonderful wedding rnjt and I hope your wedding party is back to being healthy.

aprilfool - sounds like you've been kicking some butt!

ann - the joke with the lipstick wasn't exactly lame - it just wasn't politically loaded for me because... well.... I don't care. :) haha.

Actually I really wish the states would get this election junk done and over with. I'm sick of how long it takes. I've been listening to it for a year! (i'm not into politics at all) especially since its not even my country -  yet i still have to see it on the news and the hear about it on the radio. (Yah yah - i know that US politics affect the world - blah blah blah) If I focus my time/energy (trust me it won't be much) on any politics it will be on our own election coming up next week.

jef9up:  CONGRATS!!!!  Wahoooooo!!!

Here's how I've dropped 2lbs this week....(just before Aunt Flo's visit at that)

I have been swamped too.  Between work and trying to keep my house standing it's been crazy.

Saturday I reclaimed my kitchen, got one load of laundry in, finally caught up on all of the errands that have been stacking up (fun things like getting my flu shot) and went to the Palmer Lake craft show and farmer's market. Had to work for a few hours to get some stuff going that went down. Oh yea, I also pulled a mouse nest out of my car engine and the dead owner of said nest, out of my mouse trap.  (at least I hope there's only one reeking havoc in my garage)

The weather was great so Sunday was a huge yard/garden day.  Pulled all the tomatoes, carrots and broccoli out, spaded over half of the garden and planted all my garlic bulbs, a Chrysanthemum, filled the bird feeders/water trays and watered everything that's still standing or should have been standing if it wasn't so dry.   Had to use the hand blade (a sharp blade on the end of a handle-->think power golfing) to whack out all the weeds (or most of them) in the 'back' yard, rake those into an old tarp and dump them at the end of the driveway for the trash.  All this so I could get to the shed, put away stuff that needed to go in the shed, pull the tarps and cover the wood. Then came in and canned a case of tomatoes I got from the farmer's market Saturday and was up till 12:30A.     Monday morning was not pretty.

Monday evening we set up our sculpture for the Art show, which includes moving heavy objects around.

Tuesday I had to take my car over for an oil change and get a new knock sensor put in because the a-fore-mentioned mouse chewed on the wires. It was another beautiful day, so I grabbed my camera and walked back home, getting some shots of pretty fall colors against the gorgeous blue sky. Tom called and said my car would not be ready for a day or so. Needing wheels, I picked up my cousin's old jeep to drive around in. I went to the climbing gym for a little over an hour and then over to a friend's house for dinner and drank way to much wine.

Wed I was recovering from the wine, but Thursday I went to the Ultra conditioning class at the gym.  Today I have to walk over to pick up my car (about 2.5 miles) but it's another nice day.

If it hadn't been for wine, snacks and food I wolfed down Monday and Tuesday I would be down 4lbs....
I have been going to either the regular gym or climbing gym every other day, faithfully for 2 weeks.  My friend made a comment about me loosing weight, so it's starting to show...I am sooo happy about that.

Have a great weekend everyone....

I survived Thanksgiving weekend! With barely any issue. Still weighing in under my goal (#1) weight. And that makes me happy that I can get through a long weekend of eating and come out dent free.

I hit the gym 7 days in a row last week (which is rare since I usually take weekends off).

I'm sad our chat string is slowly dying.

Happy Hump Day everyone! (Unless you are Canadian than this is still the first half of your week....)

Happy Thanksgiving!  What's the traditional T-day meal for Canada?

If it's like mine there is some good food and at least one cooking disaster that is cannon fodder for the next hundred years, and somehow the cooking disaster gets a bit more dramatic with every telling.  This good for laughs and all of us have at least one so it's pretty entertaining.

You survived your election too....****sigh****  I'm jealous, yours is over, we have 19 days to go.

I wonder what we need to do to bring the conversation back?   I miss everyone.  Maybe we need to pepper m_c_85 with emails.  Hmmmmm

Well, it's my B-day and I'm going to try to just stay even on the food and wine thing.

I also made it to the climbing gym Mon and Tues but Tues night had a nasty asthma attack which laid me out on Wed.  I got a walk in yesterday and hope no, WILL get over to the gym today.  Better living through caffeine!!!!

Have a good weekend....

Tradition depends on your family really.

My house: TURKEY (min 20lber), dressing (aka stuffing), gravy, cranberries, cheesy mashed potato caserole, squash, some other kind of veggie (green beans or peas) and croissants and wine and finish with apple pie and usually one other kind (pumpkin if my cousins are there, lemon meringe if they aren't)

Thanksgiving is no time for experimental dishes. Tradition all the way! Guaranteed goodness!

I'm looking forward to your election being over too. hehe. Ours didn't really change much of anything. Basically the same government we went into the election with. Exactly as I expected.

Oh geez, this just made me really, really hungry for the full blown traditional Thanksgiving day feast.  We have a big juicy turkey, dressing/stuffing, mashed potatoes (I prefer garlic mashers), green beans in some variation, a green salad, rolls or bread, corn, sweet potatoes (none of the marshmallow goo on it though), wine and pie.  Usually a bunch of us get together so we have pumpkin, apple, pecan. (Pecan is my favorite as long as I'm not the one who makes it.)

That sounds pretty close to what we do, but every so often one of the "traditional dishes" gets all kind of messed up.  Like when I forgot to add the eggs to the pecan pie.  I figured, no problem, I had just put it in the oven and when I looked at the counter there sat the eggs. I beat the two eggs in a bowl, pulled the pie right back out and mixed the filling with the eggs and put it back in the oven. I set the timer and cleaned up the kitchen.  To this day I have not found a satisfactory answer as to why it seemed done, but when we when to cut it, the filling oozed up around the knife and it had a strange green hue.  This has been dubbed the toxic waste pecan pie.  In an ensuing tug-of-war between me and someone who wanted to parade this disaster around the room full of guests, it hit the white porcelain kitchen sink.  I swore it ate the enamel.

What were they feeding those momma hens?

Okay, appetite gone now.

But here's a question that should get some people going:

There is a raging debate on the best way to make dressing/stuffing...I go with the old fashioned kind that doesn't have apples or raisins. ick. I also don't go for the sausage.  I've read some recipes that have oysters and don't go there either.  lame.

***she ducks and runs****

I think I'll start another blog on this alone....

It snowed here a couple of days ago and that always gets me in the mood for food. This means I am going to really have to hit the gym hard.

I climbed on Tues and did an hour on the Elliptical trainer at the gym on Wed.  I have to keep it up...need motivation, need to have a swift kick to go....

I am looking around to date again, so maybe I'll be getting a bit more evening exercise sessions.  Can only hope so.  LOL!

Wahooooo  Down 2.6 lbs :)   One day of climbing, and two days in a row on the Elliptical trainer.  Tonight will be a climbing night.

I know you all are out there somewhere, so I'm just going to keep posting.

Have a good weekend all!

Ann

"8. POSTING DETAILS ABOUT YOUR SEX LIFE. Your profile page, your journal, your MySpace page, your diary .... these are all dandy and appropriate places for you to share intimate, graphic details about your sex life, if desired. In contrast, our forums would NOT be the appropriate place for that. You are, of course, free to post general (non-graphic, non-adult) comments (presumably in the context of seeking relationship or health advice) .... but keep the adult/private stuff .... to your own pages, please."

long story.. had to change username.

where is everyone??? it'll be xmas soon & we'll all be too busy then. **pouts & sulks**

We need to rev this back up so we can make it through the holidays.

oh, I'm down by total of 4.4 lbs now....  ***jumping around like a maniac****

I woke up this morning feeling bloated and fat and I was sure I had gained it all back.  Stepped on the scale and was down another 1.4 lbs.  What a shock (a good kind of shock) Just goes to show, feelings aren't facts...

thats great ann. & no feelings are not facts. i get confused some times myself.

i have not really weighed myself since crashing back to reality from wed/honemoon. im going to the gym for the first time since coming back. they have a scale there but it's not the most reliable & only shows kilograms. im supposed to go back to weight watchers tomorrow to get my weigh in, that'll show the real deal.

How did it go?

i didnt do to bad up 4lbs, but my clothes feel much tighter, which isn't good.
