Looking to start gaining weight

Hi,

I am 18yrs old 6'1 and weigh about 143lbs. I think me being skinny has always been a source of low self esteem for me. I'm sure nobody even suspects me of having low self esteem , but senior year in highschool it just escalated to the point where I became embaressed to take my shirt off at the pool and even afraid of hugging a girl and them finding out how skinny I really am. Guess I am mostly afraid of being rejected for being skinny.

I'm just venting right there, but I realized I do have bad eating and sleeping habits haha. Somedays eat too much or other days I eat too little. That is because I pretty much wait for someone else to make the food but I decided I am going to start cooking for myself instead of waiting and eating snacks.

Am looking to start eating about 3100 calories a day and start exercising mostly at the gym. I ran cross country and track for 4 years but I just now figured out that sleeping about 4 or 5 hours a night and waking up at 5 am almost everyday for 4 years is not the best health option haha.

Could yall give me any easy to make foods with high calorie count or any suggestions? I dont know where to start really.

I have experienced the exact same thing. I can tell you what helped me tremendously. My doctor told me to go to ardysslife.com/tovareeder and  go to the "nutrition" link get the Nutri Shake 9. LOVE IT!! By the way, I have tried several of their products all of which I am completely satisfied with.

I thought I had responded to this post but maybe it was a similar. You are a young male and you will probably need way more then 3100. I have just increased to 3500 and am 31 and a female. Ip I was on 4500. Many young guys need over 3000 to maintain. Can you think in 2's? That has helped me in the past. For ex 2 PB sandwiches,2 granola bars. Think 3 meals and 3 snacks. There are many quick meals/snacks like sandwiches, granola, nuts. Pick dense breads, add cheese to sandwiches, etc. I am sorry you feel you have low self esteem and sleep issues. Have you thought about going o therapy or a psych to start meds? This in combo with self help tools can really assist. You are more then your appearance though and I am sure bring more to the table. So for now try to focus on who you are and goals you have.
