Ok ya'll. I'm looking for people that are close to the above description. It doesn't have to be exact, but at least that way all the major factors are taken into consideration.
If you're close, please chime in and say hi! I have a few of you in my friends list, but figured I'd try this to see if we could get one place to get together for a little friendly motivation, venting, and /or encouragement. If anyone is interested, we can always make a group name to keep track of ourselves. That way, as we lose weight (and I know we all will!) we can still feed off each other, and motivate or encourage anyone that may be struggling! What do you think? Just an idea.
I'm open to any suggestions that anyone may have. I look forward to seeing how many of us are out there!

A fine idea. I also really like what you had to say in your profile.
This is me, Marnee:
Female, 30 years old.
5'6" 170+something...
Looking to drop 30 lbs. or so.
Here is my story in a nutshell:
My "diet" is a combination of calorie counting and "Thintuition". I made a post about this a while back. My daily average is 1500-1700 Cals. I am not a fat counter or carb counter, just cals. I actually perfer to get my calories from fat. But Im weird.
I like to do a calisthenic workout including a medicine ball. I walk about an hour a day when I can, which is most days. And I like to ride my bike and rollerblade a lot too. I sometimes hit the gym, but its boring to me. I prefer workouts that are intense yet simple, require focus and coordination (of which I have very little) and can be done outdoors.
When Im consistent I loose about 1lb a week and that is fine by me!
How about you?

Woo hoo! There are 3 of us so far, but I'm sure we'll get more. Merrily, and Marnee, nice to 'meet' you both!
I will warn you, I am not good at motivating myself to workout, so maybe since you both mention exercising several times a week, that will give me some motivation! Belly dancing huh? sounds like fun, I might have to try it!!! :)
Marnee, you mentioned that you liked what I had to say in my profile... what'd i say? lol

Still looking for another twin... I'm 5'5", 36 and I'm at 184.5.
Here's my quick story... I've lost a bunch of weight but I've been stuck in the 80's for a very, very long time. part of it is mental and part of it is I love to eat too much. I think I'm finally over the mental block so now I just need to change the way I eat. I've been looking at my food seriously this last month and it feels right for the first time in a long time.
Looking forward to getting to know all the other twins out there!

Well, I am close you guys - 5'5" 178, and 32 years young! My addictions are sweets and carbs - love pasta, bread, and any kind of sweets/pastries! I am going on a 8 day cruise in September, and figured it was time to get my butt into gear. So far down 10 pounds, but losing inches where it counts! My goal by cruise time is 160, and by my birthday in March 140.

hey kimber,
yeah when i read your profile and you opened up with "warped sense of humor" i was in. :P
yeah getting the motivation to excersize is the hardest part. never, EVER is it the actual act...well for me. it's nice to have someone there with you, like on a walk for instance. then you can talk and gab and it seems like you aren't really excersizing at all. :)
belly dancing is great for toning believe it or not and is quite fun.

lilborykuamami, sure it's close enough. I don't think any of us are truely "twins", we're more like just a whole bunch of close sisters! :-)
welcome also to all the other's that have found us!
Merrily, I figure that everyone needs something. I don't have the looks, or the body ( at least not yet anyway), so I stick with my sense of humor... and in my opinion, the warped the better! ;-) I wish I had someone around me to walk with, but unfortunately, it's just me, and people look at me funny when I'm carrying on a conversation with myself as I walk along the street. I don't know why? LOL

i'm sure there's more than the sense of humor! trust me a lot of people don't even have THAT.
i walk with headphones a lot too and i tend to walk at a faster pace when i walk by myself. again, it's all about getting up and doing it which is so hard when there are reruns tv and the couch is so comfortable. i might have to go with the latter today as it is raining in seattle.... :P

I found the perfect way to exercise and not realize it! I went out Friday night/ Saturday morning to a Harry Potter party waiting for the book release. Had alot of running around that I had to do Saturday night, but then I hopped on my eliptical and did 45 minutes while reading. It wasn't the best environment in the world, because I don't have anyplace to prop it up and I kept having to refind my place, but I did 6 miles without even reallizing it. Maybe I should read while I work out more often, it kills 2 birds with one stone! :)
I'm fairly close close to your description. I am:
F20, 5'4" and 170 lbs
I would love to be in a group of women in the same situation as me!

when i used to go to the gym i read on the elliptical too...but i would read really trashy celebrity gossip mags while i was on there. :D
time really does fly when you are reading and on the elliptical tho, it's great. glad you found something that fits into your schedule!

Kimber - I saw your thread and thought, gosh! I have yet another CC twin ")
I am F, 36, 5'5" and I started at 192 lbs this past April. I am currently down to 172, but I've been stuck at 175-172 for the past three weeks.
I see as well that my *other* CC twin Angelic is here too! Nice to see so many other additional twins as well!

wow, those of you w/pics all look GREAT--I'm a little intimidated! Nonetheless, I'd like to join: I'm 37, 5'5, and weighed in at 183.6 today (I'm up a couple of pounds--had a bad week, and couldn't get motivated to exercise AND indulged myself with lots of pizza!). My start weight in January was 233, so I'm down 50 pounds, but I've got 50 more to go--look forward to getting some support from you lovely ladies!
Kimber, you are so my twin! i'm 5'5, 35 and 180. WOW! I'm trying to graduate to the 170's and eventually the 140's for good. Today is my hubby's b-day so i had some chocolate cake :< But no more and so I press on. Let's support each other!
blackie, yeah those things are completely my weakness! argh! i sweets far too much. as far as photos are concerned it takes me about 50 shots until i find one i like and that one is blurry! :P whatevs.
anyhoo, glad there are so many ladies in this thread. that is awesome.

I am pretty close. I have been a member for about a month and am looking for weight loss buddies who won't sabatoge my efforts. I do enough of that myself. I am female, 35, 5'6", and currently 180. I have lost 9 pounds in the past month. Mostly I do calorie counting. I have exercised for years, which kept some of the weight at bay, but obviously not enough. I have increased my exercise to 5-6 times a week, with cardio and 2-3 days of weight training. I vary my workouts, but typically work out in the gym, usually an elliptical, treadmill, stair stepper, basically anything weight bearing. I don't detest it like some others do. Like Kimber, I read during my cardio and it makes things go alot faster. I use my magazines as a treat, only to be read during cardio. I live in So Cal, so it is easy to do things outside. My husband and I ride bikes, hike, or go walking on the beach to break up the monotany of the gym. I have just started spin class about once a week, but have only done that twice so far, but plan to continue it for a change of pace. My biggest downfall is food in general. Unfortunately, I like food, all food, from every place in the world. I am not a picky eater and will try anything once. So needless to say, I try not to deprive myself of what I want, but am looking into eating what I want in moderation. Moderation has always been great in theory, but obviously more difficult for me to practice.
i saw another board talking about this the other day, it will tell you what shape you are.
i thought it was informative because everyone gains/loses weight differently. it also gave some good excersize tips for your specific shape.
i'm an hourglass and my recommended excersize is walking until i get to my goal weight and then i can add in weight lifting.

thanks for the link, merrily! I scored as a ruler, which I guess is prob accurate, even if it's the last thing I would compare my current body to! I've been swimming for the past few months, which is a new exercise for me, and I love it! Also working out with weights, and occassionally getting in a walk, when the weather cooperates.
