Looking for some week night / weekend buddies! ( :

Quote  |  Reply
Hi all!

CC is the best thing ever-- having a supportive group of firneds rooting us on is, I think, the most motivational thing ever!!

That said, most of my cc girls have busier lives than mine, I guess.  I find myself bored and surfing cc with nothing to do most week nights and weekends.  They are so great through the day and I love them to death!  (you know who you are!!!)

My dear bf plays World of Warcraft a lot, and I read, clean, work on my grading from teaching, etc, but man, I like ot have people to "talk" to at night time and on weekends too!  ( :

Are you out there, my new buds? I started cc in June at 230.  I am down to 184.  The bf and I got a trip to LA and Vagas at the end of May for a most excellent Christmas gift, and I would like, in a perfect world, to be at my goal of 150 by then.  Join me?  ( ;

I hear ya!  I work really long hours and then when I get home I just feel like I need some support from CC, so I log on whether I'm traveling for work in a hotel or at home.  I just play catch up with all the posts.  Most weekends, I'm on CC in the morning and through out the day because of the need for support and motiviation to keep my focus.   I'm single so I don't have a sig other to take my attentions *although I would gladly give it* .  Sometimes the single life gets BORING even though I have some really good friends that I hang out with in the Bay Area.

You'll have fun in Vegas and you WILL REACH YOUR GOAL!!  I started at 260 in January 08 and now at 250ish, working my way down to 157.

hey girl  ( :

thanks for responding.  what kind of cool work do you do that you get to travel for?  I am jealous!

I work in a rural school district as an English teaacher despite all my typos.  =P

what's your name?  where at?  I'm olivia, Kansas, 30, with a great guy of 4.5 years, just bought our first house a few months ago, have 4 cats and a dog.  ( :   happy little me.

I'd love to have people to chat with more often..............
I was looking at your stats, you're doing AMAZING!!  I would just love to get below 200 right now and its a ways off, so I must practice patience!! Patience!! What keeps me on the road is managing warehouses (warehouses for FOOD of all things!!) in California and Hawaii, and meetings meetings meetings in other states like Illinois and New Jersey.  I'm on a plane almoste every week.  I really have to watch the restaurant food and keeping focused on not getting famished because then I make really awful food choices when I'm that hungry.  The travel gets a little bit old.  I swear if I had a man at home or kids - NO WAY would I travel this much!!
I welcome travel  -- wish I had a way to do it.  ( :

But I imagine it would get old if I had to do it...

I always get a salad with protein, ie. chicken and am happy.  Do your hotels ever have gyms?  ( :

I would love the free life.....  I am a teacher, so outside snow days and summer, I am the same place every day.

Most of the hotels have gyms but I don't like using them.  I usually leave the hotel really early in the am and get back late so mainly its because I'm too tired.  I have started bringing resistance bands packed in my suitcase and if I can squeeze in a walk around the hotel complex I will do that.  Most restaurant menus have a Healthy Fare type section (Which I wholeheartedly used to IGNORE before joining CC, lol!!).  Now I aim for Protein + Vegetable (sometimes two veggies) + broth based soup or salad.  I am actually proud of my restaurant choices lately, been staying away from deep fried, sauced up, white starchies, etc.

You are going to have a blast in Vegas!  Its going to be HOT HOT HOT in May but not as hot as in August, good time to go!  I used to go there about 6 times a year before I started all this travel.  But once I had to organize a meeting and I was missing Vegas real bad so I decided to have the meeting in Vegas, lol. Sneaky!

Hi all,

I too like olivia am involved in another support group but they are also here either during the early day and sometimes I stay up later then them since I live on the West Coast and also I'm on here a lot during the weekends! So it would be great to chat with other people! I have been with CC almost 5 months now--can't believe that--I'm am what they call a slow loser so I will not say how much I have lost in that amount of time but it hasn't been that great--on the flip side I have lost a lot of inches and my body is changing because of exercise which I am so happy about--I only stelp on the scale once a month and I usually don't share unless it's a great loss--I'm hoping with the help of a trainer/nutritionist that things will start to change--I just started changing my nutrition 4 weeks ago--so I can't wait until I kick it  high gear! My goal here is not to get to a certain "magic" number but to be healthy and to do that I have to lose some weight---This is also a major lifestyle change for me--no turning back to the old me!

Facts about me: I am in grad school getting my masters degree (I graduate in less than 3 and 1/2 months --yipee!!, I'm married, I'm 23, I have a love/hate relationship with exercise, I love movies, I love food, I'm a homebody, and I'm originally from Texas but now live on the West Coast--hope to get to chat with you all soon!

HI there!

I'm buds with kt too.  ( : you heard she's engaged now, right?   ( :

Been there, done that.  Hope the nutritionist helps you get it going like you want.  ( :

I'm right there with you on, it;s not the number so much, but how I feel, being healthy and fit, etc.  It;s awesome that your inches are shrinking -- that and clothes are the BEST indicator.

What kind of exercise do you do?  (I liked your "love/hate relationship" with exercise -- that;s me and food.  Long, sordid story........)

WHat's your degree going to be in?  Been married long?  what kind of movies?  (me too!)  Love food as in like to cook?  Where in Texas?  My sister lives there now, but we're from the Midwest, Kansas/Missouri.  Lucky you on the West Coast!!!

kanos --   sounds like you are doing a great job with all the away from home eating and exercising which is TOUGH.  Good for you.  I can;t wait to go to Vegas!!!!   What should we do?  What free things are neat?  Coolest souvenior I could get?    I am excited!

Thanks for responding, girls.  It means a lot to have someone to chat with in my down time.  ( :  xoxoxox

Boots, I just added you to my buddy listt too :)  What part of Cali are you in?  I'm in Nor*Cal near the Bay Area.

Olivia, I didn't realize "kanos" was me, lol!!  I get called Myky, Mykanos and now "kanos" I like 'em all!! I will come up with a good list for you in Vegas.  I know some cheap eats, but they are also really fattening.  I would just splurge and have a nice breakfast at the Bellagio or my all time fave is called Fornaio or Fonseco (Can't recall) at the New York, New York hotel.  You get really yummy, well prepared Italian Breakfasts and you can get Peach Bellinis!! YAY!  Also, for really great free entertainment, check out the Outdoor Lounge in front of Harrah's.  They have live music, great drinks, outdoor misters to keep you cool and I am NEVER dissapointed by the antics of the clientele.  My favorite place to get my groove on is Rum Jungle, but be prepared to pay $25 at the door to get in.  Also, go to the MAC counter at the big Mall near Ceasar's Palace and go get you some fake eyelashes put on for $9 - FUN!

Hello girls,

Olivia, Yes I did hear about kt, fun times! I have been married almost 3 years---I like all kinds of movies: action, adventure, comedy, horror etc etc --it just has to be good! As far as exercise, I see a personal trainer 4 times a week for a total of 1 hour a week and then I go to spin class 2 to 3 times a week..My degree is going to be in Social Work...No actually, I hate to cook--I just love to eat food! I'm originally from northeast Texas--Dallas metro area---And kano, I live in Washington--not in Cali (sorry)). Uh, ladies! I woke up early this am to go work-out before church--I didn't want to wake up early on a Sunday --it's usually the day I sleep in! But my hubby gave me an extra kick and we went to the track to do a 2 mile jog/walk--I would have jogged the whole thing but my ankle started hurting so I had to walk----I'm glad I got my exercise in because otherwise right now I am wiped out--I think an afternoon nap is in store for me! I just made the most delicious chicken fried rice---I cooked the chicken in extra virgin olive oil and then I cooked some brown rice & mixed eggs and rice together and added in some chives and some low sodium soy sauce--delicious--! Not like the restaurant kind but good enough to satisfy me--you know what I mean! Not much in store today--probably a nap like I said and then I need to get some studying in!@ Is everyone off tomorrow for the holiday? I have to go into my internship (I work at a hospital) because I had so many sick days that I have to make up--I had a long period where I was sick for like 4 weeks straight so I have a lot of school/internship stuff to make up--I didn't miss any homework in my class but I am behind in reading--so I have to catch up on that! The sun is shining over here in the Northwest--I'm hoping it gets warmer! I can't wait until summer/spring! Alright ladies, I'm off to bed for a slumber! I will catch up with you two later!

Hey Everybody,

I just started with CC and I love it.  I am a lot like Oliva I am so bored at night and in the afternoons.   And would love to have people to talk with.  I get bored I eat.  Which at this point is a bad bad thing.  This is just my third reply to any of the forums on here, my first was reasons besides health to lose weight.  I was so motivated by it because in a world of people without weight problems it is really honestly nice to know that there are others out there that have the same true but weird thoughts about why they would like to lose weight.  I would love to get to know some more people on here.... not only to help myself lose weight but to maybe hold someone elses hand as well (well atleast type to them)  So if anyone wants to talk or vent let me know.

I just wanted to say "hi" Norr! And goodnight to everyone else! I will check in with all of you tomorrow!
YAY!!!

A new group of chatters!  ( :

kanos ( :   I will call you whatever you want!  =P   I can;t wait to get to Vegas.  I tried on some clothes that haven;t seen the light of day in 3+ years and everything FIT again.  I have never been much of anywhere cool, and certainly never as an adult who got to plan her own time spent!!!!

boots -- your chicken sounds scrum-deli-uptipus!!!  I am drooling....

welcome norr!  ( :   where are you? goals?  I have the day off (teacher), so I am going to relax, jog, and maybe clean house, but I am trying to relish my time off as it is the last I will get before spring break!!

Hi all,

Just wanted to check in and say "hi"...I have the day off too--wasn't planned but I woke up feeling crummy so I called in sick--I honestly feel fine now but I just want to enjoy the rest of the day off---ya know what I mean? Not much planned for today, just going to relax! I will check in later--hopefully the chatting will pick up--it's morning here on the West Coast --I'm going to try not to fall back asleep even though it's very tempting! That way I can go to bed at a descent hour tonight.

I am around, but getting ready to run off and have lunch with my bf since it is almost 11 here.  ( :

I'll be back around 2 -- have shopping to do, but yeah.

Are you a movie lover who goes to the show or one who nextflixes stuff?  (I'm the latter)  I want to see Juno and I just saw Mr. Brooks.  It was creepy weird.  But good I thought. Reminded me of a book.

Favorite movies?

Hey,

I just woke up from a 2 hour nap--yea yea I know I will pay for that later tonight--I'm still tired though--and wanted to sleep longer...I made a mistake by drinking coffee a few hours before bed last night and I was up all last night and then I just woke up early at 5:30am--was going to try to stay awake but by the time 9am rolled around I couldn't do it! Anyways, I have seen Mr. Brooks, I really liked it... hmm My favorite movies: To Kill A Mockingbird black and white version ( I know I know I'm weired but it is) --that's my all time favorite movie and then the other movies just kind of fall in a box. Um I go to the show and I rent them at home--I do both--I recently just saw Jumper (wouldn't see  it again) and Untraceable(wouldn't see it again)---..Alright, I have to go eat something, now my calorie target will be off the whole day because I'm eating so late--I will have to play catch up to try to make up calories today--o well---I will write more later! As I am around lurking!

lol, I hear you on napping and eating.  ( :   I was the girl when I was a kid who REFUSED to nap.  Now I would give my left arm to get a nap every day....

TKAM is a great movie/book.  What a classic!

Hi all,

I am definately looking for some support. I have been a member here for a month - since about Jan 17th. I've lost 9lbs so far, but don't have much of a support network that, just really peruse the boards when I need some info. I'm hoping to lose my remaining 27 lbs by early june, but i know it could take longer...

I'm 24 and work for a municipality planning a huge 4th of july festival and christmas lights display. Its stressful work, so at the busiest times of the year, i find myself snacking as an emotional out, which i have successfully stopped thus far.

I started here at 171 and am now at 162. The scale read 161.6 yesterday, but bounced back up this morning. Thats ok though! It will come. I've learned how to reward myself with things i have been craving without going over on calories and i have slowly begun working out again... i'd like to start running/jogging/walking once the weather gets warmer.

So, can I join your group? You all seem awesome and I need some support!

msm, you sure can join our group--it's open to anyone! I just wanted to check in real quick! Hope everyone has a great day--I will check back in later--I took the day off work--I'm going back to sleep!

Its nice to feel accepted! I think this is a huge part of why my weight loss attempts have failed in the past.

Bought 2 and 5 lb weight along with a TAE BO starter kit. Can't wait to do this when i get home! I'm ready to tone up!

MSM--tae bo is so hard--good luck on that! Have you done it before? Hey I thought we could do a get--to know you kind of thing, so let's all (if you have time or want to --i know some people might find these stupid--but let's answer these questions:

Where are you from: Originally from Texas, now live in Washington

Occupation: Full-time graduate student

What brought you to CC: I wanted to live a healthy lifestyle so I knew I needed to change the way I eat, and to do that I needed to count calories

How much weight do you want to lose: 60 more pounds, waiting until I look to see how I look, lol, I have been overweight for the majority of my life, so I'm not sure how the weight will look on me

Married/Single/Dating: Married almost 3 years

What do you do in your spare time: I spend all my spare time with my husband (I'm sick I know), and then besides that with school I have no spare time

Do you exercise: Yes, I go to spin class 2 to 3 times a week and I see a personal trainer 4 times week

Favorite food: Potato's, I love potato's

How long have you been with CC: In 3 days I will have been here 5 months

What's your biggest Motivation: To be healthy and live a long life

Any other things you want to add: Nope, this is it for me!
