Looking for weighloss partner or partners
Hello,
I just signed up on calorie count today and planning on putting changes into effect tomorrow. I would love to have someone to be accountable to. I am 29 and looking to lose around 30 lbs for my short term goal and eventually a total of 50. I was in a biggest loser type of competition at my gym and did well with my group, but as soon as it was over they just quit coming. I would like to have a partner that isn't just going to quit after 8 weeks. I would like to meet someone that is in it for the long haul and looking more toward a life style change rather than just a quick fix.

I definately need accountability too. I was doing well, but went on a 3 week vacation and totally gained it all back. I'm looking to lose 30 and I feel very discouraged right now. Let's help eachother!

I would love to work with you two! I am 5'6" and 160....I would like to lose 25lbs and have been trying (unsuccessfully) for a couple of months. A HUGE thing for me is that nobody is holding me accountable!! What should we do?

I have lost around 24 pounds so far using this website and I still have another 40 to go. I am 5'8 and 179/180 and my goal is 140.

Happy to report that I went to the gym this morning.....5:45a and worked out until 7a. Did 30 min cardio, 30 min weight training, 15 min abs/stretching. Feels so good to start my day like that! what is everybody else doing for exercise today?

I have finally motivated myself to get up at 4:30AM! I went to the gym from 5-6 and got in 50 min of cardio (I am lovin the Treadclimber!) and 10 min of stretching in. I know that this isn't a big deal, but I decided to park my car all day and just walk where I needed to go. That added on about 40 of brisk walking to my day as well. Take care everyone!!

Aloha, OH my gosh, 50 minutes of cardio and walked everywhere! You go girl.
Lately my hips have been hurting and it kills my motivation to run. I've been walk/jogging, but it seems I'm not burning any calories. I hope my weights routine is doing something for my metabolism.

I need accountability too!!! lol! I am 32 and 181.5. I'm new to cc as well (about a week). So far it seems to help to read about other's experiences and ideas.
For exercise, I have been going to the gym for 30 minutes at lunch time to work with weights. After work I go back to the gym for 30 - 45 minutes of cardio. Going to the gym at lunch it no big deal but it is so hard to drag myself there after a long day!

Sorry I kind of fell off the face of CC!!! I live in VT and internet is questionable sometimes! Anyways I'm back up and running (literally) so figured I would check in! foxylady_st and aloha2u - I returned your messages and tried to make you my "friends"....I think it worked.....
I just signed up for my first 10K in October....I'm going to start my official "training" on Monday. I have created a training schedule that will guide my exercise for the next 10 wks (until race day). I will try to figure out a way to post it so that you can all help keep me accountable for sticking to it! I'm really excited about it so hopefully it won't be too difficult! For the past 2 years I have run several 5k's and one 4 mile race so I'm sure I can do it!

I think that is a good idea......I have done weight watchers in the past and just knowing that somebody else was going to see my weight was enough incentive for me to eat well! Instead of posting my actual calories burned I will post my exercise goal for the week. So I will start!

Hi there Aloho, I'd love to join if you have room! I JUST joined CC and I love it here!! Healthy ways to lose weight! harder mind you but it's great to be able to get motivated by you all! As per your request:
My weight right now is 145lbs
My goal weight is 130lbs by October 5th which is my cruise to celebrate my 30th.. eeps.
Calorie intake recommended: 1400 calories
My excercise goals are to wake up every morning and get my metabolism started by doing Turbo Jam.. it's just an aerobic DVD which really gets my heart going. Then plan to walk the doggies every night and hit my 10,000 steps per day. 3 days a week I will do weights.
By next week I hope to implement swimming or the gym and maybe if I'm brave, some yoga and pilates!!
My meals consist of cereal for breakfast with skim milk and hemp and flax. Banana or Apple for snack. Quinoa and couscous with veggies for lunch (till I get sick of it). Yogurt with hemp and flax for snack#2. Then a regular dinner.. like steak.. or fish.. or whatever that is lean with salad. :) That's my 'goal'. Right now everytime i finish eating during the day.. i am still starving.. eeks.

You should try Pilates! I love it! I have a video that is 30 minutes and I feel it the next day EVERY time I do it! I only do it once or twice a week but it just stretches and works EVERY muscle....the breathing is great becuase when I'm done w/the video I' SO relaxed.

yesterday's exercise: freeswimming with my puppy and scuba for lots of fun hours.
today's weight: 170lbs
workout for today: 30 minutes of treadmill 30 minutes lifting
Goal weight: 155
lysee80: how's the training going? I've done a couple of 5k's and that kicks my butt. Do your hips get sore? I'm a super-nator and run on the outsides of my feet and I think that's why it hurts my hips to run, but I still do it.

I plan to do my cardio.. probably push to 30 mins and try out the Pilates! :) Then tomorrow I hope to do my full one hour cardio. Tonight I am making some curry beef and will have it with lots of broccoli! :) For lunch i'm having Quinoa again and apple as a snack.

training for my 10K is good.....I started running a bit more than usual last week so will probably kick up my mileage for this week by a bit (maybe 2.5 additional miles). I did my pilates video this AM and my puppy tries to help but he doesn't really! He's almost 100lbs and trying to lay w/me when I'm doing pilates didn't really work that well! Tonight I'm planning to do some upper body work and then head out for a walk w/the dog.

oh yea....Foxylady_st - my hips get a bit sore when I first start running again (I seem to go through spurts where I do run and then I don't for months....). I've been running pretty regularly this year - just not over 2 miles for the past several months. The 5k's I do are early in the spring (March and April) and then after that I tend to only run about 2 miles each time...... Stretching has really helped me in the past. I also get really tight painful calves and I think that is because I have a short stride when I run....when I consiously have a bigger stride my calves feel so much better!
Hehe.. what kind of puppy do you have Lysee? I have 3 big ones too.. but don't sound as big as yours. I have two husky crosses and one Rottie cross.

I have a black lab....he's almost 2 and he is big! but he's so cute! He is your typical lab....loves the water, loves to retrieve things, loves to be active! We did a 2.5 mile run this AM (part of my 10k training) and went 1/2 mile UP a nasty hill.....he is what kept me running....otherwise I probably would have stopped and walked.
I got my upper body workout in last night but it was pretty dark by the time we had dinner so I didn't get to go for my walk....need to buy some reflective stuff so that I can do that (not many street lights where I live)! This AM did my 2.5 mile run and abs....tonight will plan to do legs exercises and HOPE to get out for a walk after dinner.
