Looking for weight loss buddy!

Quote  |  Reply
I'm currently at 201 lbs and my goal weight is 135.  Anybody interested in being a support buddy?  I'm 27, and I'm not very active.  I know I need to get more active, but it's a hard habit to break.

hiya, im 156lb now, i been trying to lose weight and get fit for 5 weeks now, i was 165lb to begin with so ive lost 9lb now, im really pleased.  im 28 and 5ft 8in i think, i suddenly thought, my god im 28 and im disgusting, i have a massive belly roll when im sat down.  my goal is to be 133lb by christmas, but the coach on here says i will probly not make it till feb 18th, but we'll see.

i work at a desk all day and then i'd go home walk my dog, have my tea and then sit on the setee watching tv all night and eating the wrong foods and too much of them.

i suddenly thought my god, im 28 now, im starting to get lines on my face and im a big fat git, so i told my friend i was gonna start running every other day and i was amazed when she turned round and said she would join me!!! so we started off running about 2 miles in about an hour (running for a minute then walking for about a minute i should say) but hey any exercise is better than nothing isnt it.

this past week ive been running with my dog cos my friend seems to of got bored and i have a lead that goes round my waist so me and deefa take it in turns to drag each other, ive been running a bit faster than i should cos you try to keep up with the dogs pace and i shouldnt of really, but i managed about 2 miles running and walking nearly dying for breath i was LOL!!! then ive started walking fast for an extra mile at the end to try and get myself ready to start running for 3 miles eventually, but hey i'll get there some day.

i went running with a different friend last night and she is about 181lb and has gone to the gym on an off for years but i was so amazed that i actually thrashed her at running even going slow she was puffing away behind me.  so its amazing what 5 weeks makes.

i really reccommend it.

ive also been trying to eat better, i used to sit and eat like 5 or 6 flapjack cookies for breakfast every day along with lunch and tea and crisps and sweets in between.

now i normally have a big fruit salad for breakfast that i make the night before of apples, melon and kiwi.  then i have a snack about 10:30 of a party ring biscuit 30 calories or an apple then i'll have something for lunch like a baked potato with cheese or a sandwich or something and i always stop whatever im eating as soon as i feel slightly full then i'll have an afternoon snack about 3 of an apple again or something like that and then i'll have something for tea that any normal person would but again i'll stop as soon as i feel full again, then at night i love tea so i'll just have 3 cups of tea before bed and thats me done for the day.

and i really think if i keep it up i might actually win, im even gonna keep dragging me friend along till she gets as good as me and we can keep on going together.

what have you been doing so far? how long you been trying?

Hello, I would love to help support you in reaching your goal. I just actually joined today and I am much in the same position as you. I am currently 200lbs and would like to get down to 140lbs. I have a three year old son so making food that he will eat and that I can eat are very difficult. I am a stay-at-home mom and I have very little time to workout and very little time to myself. I decided this week that I would change the way my life is going. So my first change was to start eating better and drink more water. I have been doing that for 4 days and I am starting to feel better. I have more energy and think that tonight I will put my son in the stroller and go for a walk. That is if it does not rain. Please let me know if you would like me to support you along that way.

Count me in!  I've been a member since May and have managed to go from 226 to 190 (today)!  I'm 40, 5'6" and set my initial goal at 180.   When I reach it I will decide how much more I want to lose.  At this point I'm thinking that 150 is a nice round number.  In the beginning I couldn't bring myself to think about the fact that I needed to lose 76 pounds, so I decided to be more consertative with 180 and then celebrate like crazy when I get there.  I know it is difficult but I we can support each other!  Thanks for the invitation!

I would love to be your weight loss buddy! I weigh 198 and my goal weight is 135 also! I gave up on having people in my everyday life as weight loss buddies, because they all tend to try to talk me out of my diet with them. My boyfriend is the only one who is sticking to the diet.

Hi, I would love to be your buddy!!!  I just joined today like alittle9237 and am in a similiar boat.  I had a baby almost a year ago and I am still holding on to those pesky 10 extra pounds. I am currently about 160 and  I had told myself that I would be back to my prepregnancy weight of 149 by the time my daughter turned a year old, but I don't think that will happen since her first birthday is in 16 days!!!!  So i will settle for losing it by Thanksgiving.  That is my goal.  It is very hard to exercise with a baby, but she and I have started going on walks together.  She loves her jogging stroller and I have even started running again.  I had lost 50 pounds before I got pregnant by eating healthy and exercising, then gained it back plus 4 pounds when I got pregnant.  So I am up for being a weight loss buddy if you can help motivate me in return.  I did it once before and know I can do it again, it is simply a matter of staying motivated!!!!!

Good for you that you are sticking with it even if your friend slacked off a little!!!!!   Thanks fo rthe invite!!!!!!

Hi everyone...count me in!!  This is what I've been looking for.  I actually saw a thread similar to this but of course that club was closed before I could get in.  I'd love to be able to motivate you all and of course have it reciprocated.  Thank you all in advance Smile!!!

Anyways, I'm 27, 5'3" and weighed 135 when I first joined CC in the latter part of August.  It's been two weeks and I'm down to 131.  Here's a little history on me.  I'm Thai and where I'm from, I'm what they call "the big girl".  Lately, it's been very hurtful, although, I play it off as best as I can.  I'm actually using those comments to fuel my motivation.

I have two children, ages 9 and 5.  And yes, after they were born, that's when my weigh started to fluctuate.  Pre-babies, I was alway between 105-110.  I basically gained about 60lbs when I was pregnant with my first child, Ethan.  I ate everything in sight since I've been so restricted with my eating habits.  It took almost two years before I was down to 117 (the last 10lbs is the hardest to drop because I never got to 107 ever).  I was able to enjoy that for about a year and then I was pregnant with my daughter, Kaylin.  I didn't gain much with her, but I never really lost the weight I gained with her either.

For the past couple of years, I've been jumping up and down between 125-135.  However, this summer, I tipped the scale at 140.  I know you're probably thinking...'what's the problem?'...again, keep in mind where I'm from, you get ridiculed for not being within the social norm (especially with physical appearance).  I want to feel better about myself and be happy.  I also wanted to focus on a lifestyle change as well.  My son has gained 16 lbs in the last year and I really want to set a good example for him when it comes to food.  I don't want him to be taunted and ridiculed either.

My goal is to lose 20lbs and get down to 115 by my 28th birthday.  My birthday's January 2nd.  I told myself that losing weight will not be my New Year's resolution for 2009.  My resolution will be to maintain and balance a healthy lifestyle and look great!!!

What do you guys think about a weekly weigh in?  I'm not sure how many more people you'd like to have on Rainbowluvbug.  I know these forums could get overwhelming.  Maybe on Fridays we can chat about what we're going to do over the weekend and how we're going to avoid temptations.  Then we could check in on Mondays to see if we were able to accomplish our mini weekend goals.  I know my weakness is during the weekends.  Drinking with friends, eating foods that I have no earthly idea what the calories are, and not staying with the routine.  Just a suggestion.  Let me know what you all would like to do and count me inWink!!!
