Im so unmotivated myself when I first started here 2 yrs ago I lost about 20ish lbs by walking alot and eating right. While I still generally eat pretty well I have been gaining weight again. I went to the Dr last week and weigh 169lbs. When I started at cc I was 189lbs down to about 160lbs now I'm back to 169 jeans are tight and I feel gross. I do go through phases where I eat like crap but for the past few weeks have been doing really well food wise. I have 2 small kids am about 5'1" 169 and want to weigh 120 lbs. Keep in touch and maybe we can help each other motivate.

I would love to start an online buddy system.  I used to be a stay at home mom but was forced back to a desk job about 5 years ago when my husband closed his business.  When I was home, I joined another online weight loss site and enjoyed an online thread where we motiviated and challenged each other.  It was great and I lost 35 pounds.  What got the ball rolling was an online challenge by one of the moms to walk 75 miles in one month.  We would track our own progress and report in each day.  Of course, you are the only one who will truly know if you are really walking the miles you say you are, but I tell you, the encouragement from others and the real weight falling off was enough to keep me motivated.  I divided 75 miles by 26 days (that gave me one day of rest per week).  That's only 3 miles per day which should take about 45 minutes per day, 6 days a week.  I got to the point where I would actually walk a little more than that, just incase.  I remember one day it was raining so hard outside and my husband said "too bad you won't be able to walk today".  Instead of taking the easy way out, I put on my walking shoes and headed to the mall.  I walked the perimeter for 45 minutes and knew I walked the equivelent of 3 miles.  I was soooo proud of myself for not letting the rain be an excuse.  Since I've started working my desk job, I've put all the weight back on and I can't stand it anymore.  I am willing to bring my walking shoes to work and walk on my lunch break and then make up any miles when I get home.

Any one care to join me for a brisk 75 mile walk????  :)

I need motivation too. Starting tomorrow I am buying WW meals. I've done the points before and once I lost 12lbs in just 2 1/2 weeks, I up and quit. I'm 5'4 and my problem is my mid-lower belly. I've had many surgeries and have had muscles cut and I look pregnant. I hate how I look and feel. I have a petite frame and my lowest weight was 107lbs. My average weight is 114lbs. I am at 208lbs now. Although most people look at me and think I way around 150lbs (too kind) I hold it well, suck it in, tuck it in, wear the black is what I do. My other problem area is my bust. They stick out pretty far, then I have to wear shirts to appropriately fit them, in the meantime, not matching up to my upper stomach making me look pregnant.

I need a work out and motivational buddy. I'm 33 and have had two children, and 7 stomach surgeries due to preganancies & hysterectomy's. I'm not much of an eater and often don't "eat enough", but I think my perportions are okay, it's that I'm not burning any calories/fat. I love to walk and excercise, just not alone. Just having someone to communicate with is great for me. I wish all the best to you!

Im so unmotivated myself Yell I started this yr because i didn't want to get to 200lbs & I was weighing 198lbs in Jan when I started at cc, I am 5-3' hglass body but FAT all around even arms, belly, I have been at 182 for month and just this week I gained 2.5 lbs!Frown 184.5 so I am so down because I really need to lose weight because I am getting married in 11/09 and I don't want to be fat in a wedding dress I eat right but dont  get to much excercise Just walking 20min but not much because my back and hip, legs, neck is really bad after a a car accident and I be in so much pain, In other words I am mess up LOL I work alot of hours sitting down. I have always been a size 6 at 120lbs or less even after having my kids now 21,19,17 so I gained the weight just these past 4yrs after getting menopause Frown.

P.S. keep in touch and Help me to stay motivate.

Hi, I'm also a SAHM. My son is 6 and in kindergarten, I also have a 3yo daughter, who will be starting pre-k this fall and another daughter who will be one in about a month and a half.

I'm also 5'7" and about 200# right now.  I did very well in Feb, when I started at this site and lost about 10# but went back to my bad habits after that little success.  Which is the toughest for me - sticking to my plan, which is really very easy, but I guess my old habits are easier.

I definately need some motivation. Now that the weather is getting nice I want to get out and walk more. Exercise is a big problem for me too.

I would love a buddy too. I'm a Mom of a 5 year old girl. I work part time (mornings). My motivation has gone out the window and I used to jog/walk marathons. For the last year I've stopped running and started eating the chocolates and cookies they have out at my office. Ack! So, that has caused a rather rapid 15 pound gain. I want to get back to being healthy, but motivation is the issue. I've started eating well for 1 week now and walking. But so far not much weight loss. Maybe 1 pound. I'm on AOL IM as lynntfuzz. Feel free to IM me.

Do you take out son on walks in a stroller?

Lynn

Hi all!

I need motivation too!  I should have plenty of things driving me to lose the weight, but apparently it's just not enough!

rrlatina, I'm getting married 11/09 too!  I am hoping to lose 35 lbs by then.

I sit at a desk allllll day, but am used to having very active jobs where I could burn lots of calories all day.  This is definitely setting me back and discouraging me.  I go to the gym about three times a week for at least an hour, but don't feel like it's enough.  (I'm not losing any weight!  Only lost 1 lb in a month, so I'm definitely eating too much.)

I eat generally healthy, I just eat too much.  I need motivation to stay on track despite my busy life, eating around 1100 calories a day.  I'm 5'11, 212 lbs and WILL get to 180 by November!  (haha, does anyone see my bit of motivation there?  (I WILL, not I want to...))

I would love to make some cc friends so we can share our success and motivate each other!

I LOVE this idea of walking 75 miles a month!!! Great goal & inspiration!!!! I have been doing the Leslie Sansone dvd's for 45 - 60 min. per night, or when the weather is warm enough, I've been walking outside - 3 miles / 45 min.  I have recently lost 30 lbs & I am at my goal weight, but aiming to lose another 5 lbs! BUT I know that I need to keep this body moving or that weight will be right back (like it has before!!) If I have a goal to aim for (like walking 75 miles per month) I think it will help to keep me focused!!

There is a form available to track your work out/walking times for 6 weeks that you can print off here: http://www.presidentschallenge.org/pdf/Active Lifestyle.pdf (or it's available to fill out online if you join the program) We could even start a group at this website & log our information right there!!

Wooo Hoooo!!! Let's get walking!!!! :)

I just wanted to write all you women and thank you for letting me know I am not alone on this whole diet and excersize battle....Laughing I too am a SAHM my little girl will be three next month and I am getting married at the end of this summer and sooo want to look my best for my big day...I am 5'7 and around 200lbs. I would love to lose 40-50 lbs. as soon as possible I do really good with the eating both what I eat and portions other than breakfast still working on that...I am a curves member at the local gym here where I normally go 3 times a week and do my walk at home video which is equivalent to walking 2 miles in 30 minutes with a resistance belt. I can see my body toning up and eerything I just dont ever feel I get results quick enough and I end up discouraged before I get to truly get my body trained I have gained alot of knowledge as far eating right thanks to Curves Wink BUT I JUST NEED HELP STICKING TO MY PLAN and being the honest yet competetive woman that I am thought it would be awesome to be able to find a friend to do this with if not in person at least via email as you ladies were talking about....MY BEST WISHES TO ALL OF YOU ON YOUR DIETS AND LOOK FORWARD TO ANY HELPFULL INFO ANY OF YOU MIGHT HAVE FOR ME...Being new to the area here I dont know anyone at all which make this really hard!!!!

HI! I am a 34 year old single mother with a 15 year old son. I am 5 foot tall and currently weigh 113. I used to weigh 216.6 at my heaviest 6 years ago, and I was down to 102 a couple of years ago but have had trouble maintaining it seems like every year I go up and down ten pounds. Once I start adding in the carbs and refined sugars I tend to get out of control.

I lost my weight through a program called Medical WEight Loss, the best part about it was the support. I went in the office at least 3 times a week to get weighted and get support from them. If it wernt for that then I never could of done it.

So any advice or support I can give with tricks Ive used Id be happy to give, and I can always use the support with my continued struggle to maintain where Im at. Even with working out 4-5 times a week I still seem to gain easy.

My first bit of advice is to detox youself of any refined sugars and carbs. Eat only whole grain carbs and limit them as much as possible. Once you get the sugar and carbs out of your system the cravings and hunger levels seem to go away. Its the first few weeks that are the hardest. UGhh!!!

Can I join in?  I love the idea of walking 75 miles and I think I can do it with help and motivation.  I am a 40 yr old sahm of 4. My kids are 19, 18, 15 and 5. All of them have different disabilities and the walking would work right for me and the little guy. He loves to get in the stroller and look at the world.  I am 5'4 and weighed in last night at 248. Cry  I would like to be down at least 80 lbs by this time next year.  I had lost weight on Sparkpeople, but due to some bad ideas and non motivationI have gained the weight I lost (I was down to 234)

So what do you say guys? Can we do it??  YES we can!! ( As Bob the builder would say lol)Laughing

Stacy

YOU ARE WAY AHEAD OF ME LOL...sounds like you are doing very well.. 2 questions...What is this program you mentioned Medical Weight Loss???? And the second question would be as far as the sugars and the carbs...would it be too much trouble if you gave me an idea of what whole grain carbs are? And how do I detox??? THAK YOU FOR ANY INFORMATION!!!!!

Hi there,

I am a 38 year old single dad - who on Jan 5th, 2009 weighing 313 realized my kids need me to do something about this before they lose me to it.  (They live with me full time).

It has now been 12 weeks and I have lost 85lbs.. with 29 to go till I hit my goal of 199.  At that point I will reaccess and see if I need to lose more.   I work out hard everyday and try to eat a very low carb, low fat diet.

You might think, Im doing well and don't need the motivation but alot of the time it is struggle - we all need motivation.

So if you dont mind.. I'd like to join as well.

Thanks!

Wow!  Congratulations wasme!  You sound like you're on the biggest loser!  That is incredible weight loss!!  You must be feeling absolutely great!

Keep it up, you're almost there!  :)

Thank you very much.  Was kind of you to say, and yes I feel alot better - but I guess I won't be 'happy' till I reach my goal.

On a side note - I have never seen that show!!!

Well, despite never seeing the show, perhaps you should call them to become a trainer for your new job!   You've clearly found a good method!  hehe

I want to join too! I think its a great idea about the 75 mile walk! I'm 26, and just started trying to put more exercise in my life. I live in Iowa and the weather is always changing, so most days I don't get motivated enough to walk away from the couch! I have been doing the dance revolution game on the Playstation tho, and allthough I haven't seen any results of it yet, I feel better knowing I actually moved around! :) I bought a pedometer but have not used it yet, so hopefully having the 75 mile goal will get me walking more!

Holy smokes wasme! That's awesome!!! Great job!! I bet you feel so  incredible!!! That is quite an accomplishment!! Cool

I think since tomorrow is April 1st we couldn't ask for a better time to start walking with a goal - 75 miles per month (or whatever you can do!) Any suggestions? Where should we "gather" to report our miles? I (or anyone who wants to do it) can start a group at that Presidential website I mentioned, or is there a place here we can access/track easily? I'm excited to get walking!! :)

Hi everyone,

Another SAHM, 43.  I don't have the trouble with working out as I go to the gym up to 5 times a week and during the week try to stick to 12-1400 calories.  My issue is trying to stay away from the bad stuff on week-ends.  Junk food and the like.  I have stopped buying it but occasionally I slip.  I love food, love to cook and am trying to lose around 10-15 lbs.

I look forward to motivating others and being motivated to stick to a goal and fight the cravings!!!

Good luck everyone!

Renee

I just started a new thread under Forums/Motivation/75 Mile Walk

You can reply there and we'll all cheer each other on.  You can use any type of tracker you'd like, such as an Excel spread or on online tracker.

Good luck everyone!
