loose skin? or fat?

Quote  |  Reply
hi. i had a c-section 18 months ago, and lost all the baby weight very fast. im small to begin with, but my belly just wont go away. if i bend over you can see ripples in my lower belly, and if i stand up strait my belly looks like a w at the top of my pants. some days it looks horrible, others, not bad at all, almost unnoticable. does anyone know what (fat or skin) it is, or better yet, how to get rid of it? (my abs are very strong underneath)  any help would be great! tahnks!

I don't really know if it is skin or fat==probably both.  My stomach is the same way from 2 V-births.  My oldest is almost three and I still look about the same.  I think as your body fat decreases, it gets better.  I just haven't accomplished that yet.  Do you know your bf%?

I wish I had a more positive response.....but here goes, I have had 5 children.  Yes! Five naturally born children...I have prayed, begged, and cursed that the extra skin would go away.  I'm 5'5" and 126 lbs...37 years old....I'm over it now.  This year, I just want to put my knees together and not have my thighs touch....this week was the one.  I can see the slightest amount of light.  As far as the skin on my tummy, when I put my shoes on there are more than 4 rolls.  ???? I'll cross my fingers with you.

I have the same sad tale. After a c section my mummy tummy is soo not cute. Ive read and read...and read and researched a way to minimize it. Ive found about 3 choices. The first one is Yoga, all the moms I know that do it have some nicer bellies than most, and they swear by it. The second is getting into near olympic shape. The mothers that are track stars on runners.com they say that running and weight training really minimizes sagging of skin. It has to be true, Ive seen so many 60+yr old women that have better bodies than 20 yr olds. The last is surgery, which has its own risks associated with it and the cost is insane...But if you have the money and know of a trusted and good doc then perhaps that is the option for you.
