I'm 13 and have lost about 20-25 pounds. Now i am just trying to be healthy and eat in moderation and PORTION CONTROL more than counting calories, though i usually i don't think i eat more than 15-1600.
I used to gain 20-30 pounds a year. My parents loved buying me slurpees and bagels w/ cream cheese and pasta. i was like 145 which is overweight for a person of my height at the time. i am now about 120-i don't check everyday. Once i look in the mirror and am completely happy with myself, then i will check my weight and that will be my ideal weight. but i'm not there yet, if i do check my weight even if before i felt pretty good, i will beat myself up. I think it is okay not to check my weight and be really stric ton counting calories anymore. I do Jillian michael's 30-day shred everyday.
Should i count my calories? Should I check my weight weekly?
Hey there!
I have found that one of the most effective methods for weight loss is to keep a food diary. I don't keep mine with me at all times--I just remember what I ate and write it down when I am at my desk at home. Then, I look up the calories, fat, and carbs for each item I eat. When I first started, I was shocked at how quickly I would consume 2000 calories in a day (and often way more!!)
At this point, I think that if you keep a journal it will help you to be conscious every time you eat. When you snack and then don't "count" it, that is how we weight-losers slip up.
Good luck 13!
