lose 10 pounds by April 28th!!. Anyone want to join in?
I have struggled all my life with emotional eating. Im a professional Performer and always have to be in the best shape It alot of pressure . I have a big audition in April and have to lose weight to prepare. I would love to have support.....

summer is around the corner, and i have a beach vacation in a couple months. i've been maintaining (or stuck for that matter) for the last couple months. ready to take it to the next level whatever that it. i need to gain muscle at the same time because i look more like 150. good news is that i have been losing since last year. not much, but never gained anything back that i lost. my main goal is MUSCLE.
count me in!!! i am new to this so you will have to bear with me. really want to lose 10 lbs , i am 5' 3'' and i weigh 124lbs , want to get to 114lbs by april as i have a friends wedding at the start off june
I know I am a bit early for the weigh in but I started CC and my new meal plan last Saturday, a few days before this forum started so I figured I would enter my first week (well, 8 days really) results.
Just got off the scale.....for some reason I weigh myself at night because then I feel more responsible for what I eat instead of "oh well, I will be less in the morning" anyway, my numbers are
SW: 153
CW: 150.5
GW: 125
2.5 pounds in the first 8 days... not too shabby!! I have been really bumping up the cardio and I just started eating alot better so it was probably just a shock to my system, but I hope I can keep up a healthy 1 to 2 lbs. a week. Cant wait until next week when I weigh AND tape, I feel thinner already!!!

a little discouraged today... weighed myself and i'm up 4 lbs.
i stay strong until dinner... then i cave. any advice?
my problem is that i usually eat dinner with other families or houses... so i don't count the calories. i have to be 139 or less by april 20th... so i have to get my bootay in gear!
I had the flu all weekend so the goal of working out did not happen!!!!! I am still at 167. I think I am finally feeling better and plan to get back on track tomorrow!! 10 pounds-we can do this!!!! I just need to get off my A** and start working out. So here is to a new week!!

I can join! I want to lose 11 by May 1st, so 10 by April 28th would be great! My biggest problems are portion control and sweets. For example, last night, I had a huge serving of pasta with veggies and cheese. The dinner would have been reasonable except that I had so much of it. Then, of course, I had to follow up with a cupcake, which would be fine, if I kept treats like that to an occasional basis. But I don't seem to be able to stop once I start. If I can just get my portions down to a reasonable size, and limit sweets to the exception rather than the rule, I can do this.

Are you eating enough calories throughout the day, or are you cutting back so much that you are ravenous at dinner?? Try to keep yourself full with many small meals, then dinner wont feel like you have to eat everything in sight!! Keep things like kashi bars (find ones that are lower in sugar) and fresh fruit and nuts to munch on during the day, that should help.
Would other families or your friends feel offended if you ate something other than them? Most people are really understanding. For example, I went to chilli's with some freinds and as they pigged out on fajitas and nachos, I had a chef salad which I toopped with my low calorie spray ranch dressin g that I brought from home and nobody minded. You need to worry about yourself before others... so eating at differnet places might not be the best thing when you are trying to start adopting healthier food choices!!

ALWAYS put snacks in SINGLE SERVING bags!! That way, it is easier to only eat one portion. I do this with things like trail mix with m&m's. If I left it in the costco size bag, I would eat all day!! If you cant control how many cupcakes you eat, dont bring them in the house! Make a batch for a special occasion, have people around you eat them, then after a day throw them out if you get tempted!!! Take a peice of clothing that eigther looks great on or you cant fit in to quite yet and put it up on the pantry door... you might think twice about grabbing that snack!!

im now at 167, from 172, and im 5'10. Im goal weight is much more than a 10 pound loss .. but hey, gotta start somewhere !

Coffeelover...you and I are in the same boat. I have gained 3 lbs. this week...not a good week! I know that I am not eating right, so today I am going to try my best to change that. I started trying to be more aware yesterday and I lost 1 of those stinkin' lbs. So what all this means to me is that now I am down 1 week, but still have to lose 12 lbs. This is not good, but possible! We can do this!
This morning I was able to go to they gym for a boot camp class and tonight both kids have soccer practice (at different times) so I will be able to workout for 2 hours this evening too....I am actually really excited about that. Maybe it is just what I need to get in the right frame of mind.
Impiquette...you and I are also the same in that I do great all day, then I get home and blow it all. Not because I limit my calories so much that I can't take it when I get home, but because there is more food at home than at work. The worst part about it is that I don't keep bad food in my house, my kids have their candy drawer and I am not interested in it, but my problem is that too much of anything (even good for you food) is bad for you! Once I start I just have a difficult time stopping. My goal this week is to really increase the water intake. This means when I get home, instead of heading to the pantry, head to the faucet, fill up and drink up. I am really hoping this helps.
I have a trip planned in 8 weeks (May 14th) and I cannot be more that 135...not sure how I am going to manage this, but I can do it! I think I am going to have to become obsessed with exercise. At least the weather is turning nice here!
Sorry for the long post, but sometimes I think while I type, which really helps me, but makes for a long post.

Count me in too. I've been on the site counting calories since the end of February and I haven't seen any real results yet. I have been doing cardio and weights as well but maybe I need the motivation of having a group of people supporting me to help me out.

My goal is to be in great shape for summer so 10 lbs in the next month would be an amazing start.
Any suggestions on how much cardio a person should be doing to lose this much weight. I vary between 1/2 hr. and 1 hr. about 4 times a week. I also do about 40 mins of weights 3 times a week. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

So finally I worked out this morning
. I feel a lot better. I haven't done anything for over 3 weeks and that just depresses me. There is absolutely NO reason I don't make myself do it. I get up every morning get dressed and all I have to do is walk down the stairs turn on the television and start the treadmill but I talk myself out of it (can't this morning because.....I need to do the dishes, clean the kitchen, do some laundry, make lunches, have coffee with my husband or there isn't enough time now, etc.). These excuses just keep adding on to the frustration!!!! I know for a fact that when I work out-I eat a lot better and I'm more conscious of everything I eat and when I work out more I feel great and that makes me want to work out more. When I don't work out I am so mad at myself that I don't really care what I eat or how much. I get stuck in this never ending cycle, except I can end it by working out.
I know it works-I have lost 32 pounds so far but I have been stuck at this weight for almost 3 months because I just can't motivate myself and if I'm not careful I will put all of that weight back on.
So I started back today!!!!!!! I will again tomorrow!!!!!!!! I am tired of my excuses!!!!!!!
Sorry this was such a long rant (at myself). What frustrates you about your struggles? How are you going to fix it?
alana102... Thanks for the help. I definitely feel like I am eating enough throughout the day. I have breakfast, snacks, and lunch- maybe I am just not picking filling foods. I definitely need to start keeping more fruit with me.
About the families: I don't think they would mind. Maybe I just need to start eating at home before I go places. My schedule is very, very busy... so running home and eating dinner (or packing dinner) isn't always in the cards. Your will power to bring your own dressing, and turn down nachos is helpful for me to see. I am eating fajitas tonight... is that bad?
I think my problem is I have just gotten lazy in counting. I need to get back into things...
rntkcrawford: i am glad we are in the same boat. sadly, it is not the good boat... but we can help each other get into the good boat :) ha. Your words were encouraging. I need to change my mindset and start being more aware of my food intake. I have been so lazy the past 2 (maybe even 3) weeks.
I am with you on wanting to get to 135... my goal is 128 by the end of May... I have quite a few pounds to go. Let's help each other through this!
oh yea, my problem is I RARELY workout. I have a very busy schedule... I pretty much am gone everyday from 8am-8pm... by the time I get home I am exhausted. Some nights I don't get home until 9:30pm. I am not a morning person... but maybe I need to become one! what is your caloric intake each day?

Hi Everyone, Count me in on this challenge. I have 20 lbs to lose, but if I can lose 10 by April 28 I will be half way through my goal. My biggest problem is that I am always hungry and even though i have been following a calorie count diet for awhile I am still hungry all the time. Sometimes I let myself go, but I think this challenge will hold me accountalbe and force me to stay on track
I am currently at 160lbs I have lost 16.5 lbs since February, but I have been stuck here for a couple of weeks now. My goal is to get to 140 which I think is when I looked the best in my life, and sadly it was about 10 years ago after my second child. However, I am determined that I am going to get back into shape this year and reach my final goal of 140lbs by june 1st the lastest.
hey coffeelover, glad I could be of help.... the food was very tempting, but I have internet on my phone, so when I am out i look up restaurant foodlists on dietfacts.com and when I see a whole days worth of saturated fat in one dinner, it really helps me say NO!
fajitas from chillis are very fattening, but if you make them yourself you can cut alot of that out.
Take some grilled chicken breasts and marinade them in itallian dressing for about 2 hours. After grilling cut them up into thin strips and serve with wheat tortillas, black beans, grilled bell peppers and onions and low fat cheese... they are really yummy!! Then with all the calories you saved you can have a low fat ice cream for dessert!!

Me too! !I'm in!! I'm 5'5 1/2 127 pounds and would love to be 117lbs again. It's tough, but with determination, we can all DO IT!!!
I've looked back at as many posts as I could and I haven't seen any that mention a weekly weigh in or anything like that.
Is everyone in agreement to weighing ourselves on the same day every week and posting to see if we're all on track and if not we can give each other a boost.
Since today is Tuesday why don't we go ahead with a Tuesday weigh in if everyone's on board.
