lose 10 pounds by April 28th!!. Anyone want to join in?

I have struggled all my life with emotional eating. Im a professional Performer and always have to be in the best shape It  alot of pressure .  I have a big audition in April and have to lose weight to prepare. I would love to have support.....

I think its a "post as you go" kinda thing... I weigh on Sundays so thats when I post, but I havent seen anyone elses progress yet

Well I usually weigh myself on Saturdays but I will post my weight today and come back and post again next tuesday night. I hopefully it will have changed because I have been at this weight for awhile.

Currently: 160lbs

Coffeelover...

Sounds like we have the same goal...135 now and 128 sometime in May or June is my ultimate goal.  I will help make you accountable, if you do the same for me.  What are your stats, i.e., how tall r u, age, weight today, etc?

Right now I am losing the same 10 lbs over and over again and I am really tired of it.  I will get to 141 and then shoot back up to 147 - AAARRRGGGGG!!!  I have decided since I have a trip planned for the middle of May I have to start moving in the right direction.  You asked about caloric intake...I'm not one for counting calories (which is probably my main problem), but I know when I make bad choices and I try to make the right ones.  Yesterday I was in the grocery store, picked up something bad for me and some Luna Bars, got all the way to the register and asked myself what I was thinking.  So I gave it to the girl behind the counter, paid for only my Luna Bars and out the door I went!  One good choice at a time...that's how I will do this!

I was able to go crazy yesterday and get to the gym in the morning for an hour and got back in the evening for another hour and a half.  So I weighed this morning...146.3.  Not good I know, but considering I started this week at 150...very happy!!!  Since 147 seems to be my "natural" weight these days, that is what I am considering my start weight, so I am officially 1.7 down, even though I have lost more than that...can't count the pig out days where I got up to 150 (I could have choked myself)!  So I have 11.3 to go by April 28th, that gives me 6 weeks...that's almost 2 lbs. a week.  It will be difficult, but possible, with NO ROOM FOR ERROR!

Supposed to go running with my kids after work, then my husband is going to take our daughter so my son and I can go alone...he's a running machine and won't let me stop!  Hoping to get in 7 miles...wish me luck!

Hope everyone has a great day...and remember...one good choice at a time!

rntkcrawford...

i love that we have the same goal, it will be helpful that we have the same goal/weight in mind. i am definitely game for holding each other accountable. i have been so slack at this...having a partner to do this with, maybe it will make me more mindful of what i eat and do.

i am also horrible at counting calories, i think this is why i keep going up and down these 4 lbs. i am 141 one day, then 145 the next...ahhh. i know what you mean by the "natural" weight. the past few years i have been about 135...without doing anything, but this past summer i went to london and gained weight, and it has yet to come off my body! i thought it would kind of naturally come off... but it hasn't. i started this around 147, too. i also need to get my butt in gear... i have to be down 8 lbs by april 20th (my friend and i are in competition mode).

the one thing you seem so awesome at is working out. i rarely have time to workout... and it has never been my favorite thing to do, so i kind of never do it. i need to start going at least 3 times a week... but my schedule is really rough.

i would love to be 128- that is my long term goal. i will be thrilled once i get to 135 though. i am just more comfortable in my skin... and when i lose weight i am always encouraged to keep going, not to cheat. so once i lose a few pounds... it should be easier.

my stats: CW: 145- GW: 128 (135 by april 28th), age: 22, height: 5'9 or a little taller

Yesterday I ate really well, until dinner... 2 beers (they were light), chips and dip, fajitias, and dessert.... today will be better. i feel it :)

good luck today!!! hope you get your 7 miles in... and i am so proud you dropped the "bad" few... POINTSSS!

I know that it is difficult to find the time to workout, but know that when I make the time, I eat less and I eat better.  Not even intentionally, just naturally.  When I workout I have no desire for all those horrible things I normally want while sitting at my desk...

My stats...

CW: 146.3 - GW: same as yours...128 (135 by April 28th), age: old compared to you...36 almost 37, height: 5'7"...

So in all actuality, you are thinner than me and way younger so it will be easier for you to lose, not to mention, you haven't had any children yet (I have 2) and now I no longer like you and want to be your partner!!

Just kidding...we can and will do this...more later

I am with you there but I have a quite a few more pounds than you to go.  I am 38 (almost 39Cry) with 2 boys.  I wish I was at 146 but I am currently at 167 (down from 199) my goal weight is 135-140 (have to seen when I get there) I am 5'6" and also losing the same 5-8 pounds over and over.  I have been stuck here for about 2.5 months and I just can't seem to get past it Yell.  So if I could be down to the low 150's in April I should be well on my way.  I have been doing much better working out this week just have to keep at it.

So here's to the "thinner and younger" ones (LOL)-Good Luck we can do this!!!  I may not be able to do much about the age but I can eventually be thinner.

I know I'm starting a week late, but I want to join too! I'm 24, 5'10, and I just had a baby four months ago :)

I do cardio for a 1/2 hour a day, 1/2 hour of either strength training/weights or yoga (I alternate days), I limit to 1800 calories (I'm b-feeding so I can't cut crazy calories out) and I walk a 3.5 loop three times a week.

Holy cow...all my work is paying off!  Last night my son and I ran 4 miles and I really restricted my eating yesterday...this morning...144.5!  I know this is still really high, but considering last week I saw 150, this week it just seems to be melting off.  So, I am down 3 lbs. from where I am calling my start (even if it's not really my start), and 7 to go...I finally believe I can do this!

Went to boot camp class this morning at 6:00 and back to the gym for 1 hour on the elliptical after work...YIPPIE!!!

Wow rntkcrawford that's fantastic, congratulations!

You are so motivated with your exercise I am very impressed. I went for a run with my son last night also and I was so proud of him he almost made it the whole 30 minutes except he had a side a cramp a couple of times.  I couldn't imagine exercising twice in a day like you do, you definitely should be seeing results because if you aren't then there's no hope for someone like me.

I am definitely in.

i'm currently: 6'1 and 175 lbs

Cori,

Thanx...I have been working very hard (this week) and yes, I am seeing the results!  I don't usually have much of an opportunity to exercise, since my husband is a full-time student and we have 2 children.  However, right now my hubby is being REALLY supportive and giving me just about anytime I want to get to the gym (even if it makes it difficult on him), and I am taking full advantage of it.

Had such a great workout at the gym this evening...used the elliptical for one hour and went hard!

Came home and ate, but I stuck with only things that are 100 calories.  Had a bowl of soup and a pear, 200 calories total, and I'm stuffed!

How old is your son?  Do you two run much?

Hey rntk,

Good for you, an hour on the eliptical is fantastic I could never make it past thirty minutes when I used to go to the gym.

My son's 10 and he's come running with me occassionally but my whole family's signed up for the Mother Daughter Run for heart & stroke on Mother's Day and he really wants to be able to run the whole thing so he's going to try to come with me more often.  I think it's great that he wants to run but I must admit part of me wishes to go myself so I can go at my own pace but I know it's more important to teach him to be healthy and get proper exercise and fresh air.

How about you how old are your kids?  Do they go running with you often?  Do you ever feel like me, that part of you would rather go alone?

I didn't go for a run yesterday, I wanted to but I have three kids under my roof so sometimes my evenings don't go quite as planned but I did manage to fit in 40 minutes of weights so I feel good still and I'm taking the afternoon off work today so I will be able to run this afternoon and I'm going to try to push myself past a half hour.

Weigh in day!

COUNT ME IN!!! I WEIGHT 130 NOW! 03-20-09

SACRED HEART DIET SOUP!

Cori,

I only made it an hour on the elliptical because I now have a gym buddy I go with and she made me...:)

My son is 9 and has been running with me for about a year now.  He ran his first half marathon last October and finished in 2:24:48.  We always run together on Saturday mornings and we are trying to get more runs in during the week, now that the weather had gotten better.  He is pretty fast, so I am usually glad to have him along.  On Wed. we ran 4 miles in about 39 minutes...and then he sprinted at the end and left me in the dust.  I do know what you mean though, there are definitely days when I wish I could go my pass and not feel like I am running him too hard.  When he first started running with me last year, it was a real drag.  I would have to get MY run in during lunch so I wouldn't get mad that he couldn't keep up on our runs together.  Now I have a hard time keeping up with him sometimes.

My daughter on the other hand, is only 5 and has just started running.  He can only make it about 1.5 miles right now, so we just squeeze that in when we can, but she wants to go all the time.  She will be participating in her first 5k this summer and she is really excited about it.
